- چکیده انگلیسی: Conversations contain spontaneous use of routine formulas which lets speaker sinteract with each other to express opinions. Gambits, as one of these formulas, act as an opening remark and help speakers to maintain the smooth flow of an everyday conversation. The lack of mastery of using gambits in maintaining the conversation leads to breakdowns in speaking. This paper aimedat comparingthe use of different categories of gambitsby native speakers of English and Persian. Toachieve this end, a corpus of 40 hours from Persian Native Speakers (PNSs) and English Native Speakers (ENSs) with an equal number of participants was selected through recordings of conversations from different TV Channels. Following the literature, the frequency of gambit tokens was counted and their functions were classified. Chi-square test revealed significant differences between PNSs and ENSs regarding the occurrences of gambit categories. The findings of this study can have implications for language learners and practitioners in the field. The present research demonstrates to language learners the need for learning gambit expressions as elements to improve the quality of their speaking and also to use the language in meaningful interaction with others.

- چکیده انگلیسی: In this work, the mean activity coefficients of KCl in the KCl+lactose +water system were determined using the potentiometric method. The electromotive force measurements were carried out on the galvanic cell without liquid junction of the type: Ag|AgCl|KCl (m), lactose (wt.%), H2O (1−wt.) %|K-ISE, in various mixed solvent systems containing 0, 5,7.5, 10 and 12.5 % mass fractions of lactose. The ionic strengths range was from 0.0003 to 2.000 kg.mol−1. The modeling of this ternary system was made based on the Pitzer ion-interaction model. The mean activity coefficients were correlated with Pitzer model and the adjustable Pitzer parameters (βo, β1 and Cø) were determined for the series under investigated system. Then, these parameters were used to calculate the amounts of thermodynamic properties such as osmotic coefficients and excess Gibbs free energies for under investigated systems. The results clearly indicated that a good correlation was obtained with the Pitzer model to describe this system.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background & aim: Accurate history-taking from sexual assault victims is the basis of correct diagnosis and treatment. Considering the serious consequences of sexual assault and the necessity of students’ training through active educational methods, this study was conducted to compare the effect of standardized patient-based training and team-based learning on the midwifery student’ skill of history-taking from the victims of sexual assault.
Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted among 75 students of nursing and midwifery in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, Mashhad, Iran. The subjects were randomly assigned to two groups of standardized patient-based training (38 students) and team-based learning (37 students). After holding a pre-test, each group trained separately for 2 hours. Post-test was held a week post-intervention. Data were collected using a questionnaire containing demographic data, educational profiles, and performance checklist. Data analysis was performed in SPSS software, version 4.
Results: The groups were equal regarding demographic, educational, and occupational data. The average score of students’ history-taking skill at the post-intervention phase was 32.0±2.3 and 30.0±4.5 in the standardized patient-based training and team-based learning groups, respectively (P=0.015). There was a significant difference between the groups considering the increase of scores (P=0.039).
Conclusion: The impact of using a standardized patient-based training approach on improving the skill of student in history-taking of sexual assault victims was more than team-based learning.- انتشار مقاله: 21-09-1396

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Mothers and infants are considered as two vulnerable groups. Most problems occur during and immediately after delivery, which, if not addressed promptly, lead to death of mother, baby, or both. Maternal emotional support and midwifery care is one of non-pharmacologic methods of pain management during labor and delivery. Since the quality of midwifery care has an effective role in mothers' satisfaction with midwife's performance, this study was conducted to assess the quality of mothers' satisfaction with midwifery care.
Materials and Methods
In this cross-sectional study, 400 mothers admitted to the postpartum ward of Shahid Mobini Brothers Hospital of Sabzevar, Iran, were evaluated by simple convenience sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire entitled "Satisfaction with quality of midwifery care in labor and delivery room", and was confirmed by content validity method and reliability was calculated by Cronbach's alpha coefficient (α = 0.92). Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 16.0.
Results: The average age of mothers was 25.88 ± 5.70 years old. The mean maternal satisfaction was 104.72 ± 0.76. In satisfaction category, 1% were dissatisfied, 17.3% had moderate satisfaction, and 81.7% had high level of satisfaction. There was a significant relationship between the variables affecting the level of satisfaction including education, age, and number of maternal deliveries with satisfaction (P<0.05).
Conclusion
The results of this study indicate that mothers have high satisfaction with the quality of midwifery care in the maternity ward. This care is mainly performed by midwives, and midwifery tutors and students. Therefore, it is recommended to apply midwives in other areas requiring specialized midwifery performance.- انتشار مقاله: 08-11-1397
