- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Vitamin D supplementation has been proven to be effective in the treatment of allergic rhinitis (AR). Objective: We conducted the present study to explore the role and efficacy of vitamin D adjuvant therapy for the treatment of inflammation in patients with AR. Methods: Out of 127 patients with potential eligible AR, 60 were randomly assigned into two groups and were finally included in our analysis (n=30 for each intervention). The patients with potential eligible AR were randomly allocated to intervention with desloratadine citrate disodium (DCD, 8.8 mg/day) without and with vitamin D3 nasal drops (1.5х106 IU, once/week) for four weeks. Thirty healthy control subjects were included in our study. We assessed the changes in the serum 25(OH)D, peripheral blood eosinophils, interleukin (IL)-4 levels, and nasal symptoms. Serum 25(OH)D, peripheral blood eosinophils, and IL-4 levels were detected respectively with liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), a blood detector, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results: Our patients who received vitamin D3 adjuvant therapy had a higher serum 25(OH)D level (47.57 ± 2.83 vs. 31.51 ± 2.95 ng/ml, p=0.000) and lower AR symptoms score (2.07 ± 1.89 vs. 3.37 ± 1.50, p=0.005), serum IL-4 (10.38 ± 3.41 vs. 12.79 ± 5.40 pg/ml, p=0.043), and peripheral blood eosinophils (0.34 ± 0.09 vs. 0.41 ± 0.10 109/l, p=0.003) compared with DCD single treatment. The efficacy rates of DCD with and without vitamin D3 in AR were 97% and 84%, respectively. Conclusion: Nasal vitamin D3 combined with DCD could improve the clinical symptoms of AR. Vitamin D3 adjunct therapy showed significant effects on inhibiting inflammation in patients with AR. We concluded that vitamin D3 supplementation could be an effective adjuvant therapy in AR patients.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Entecavir (ETV) is commonly used to treat chronic hepatitis B (CHB) in China. However, certain percentages of e-Antigen (HBeAg) positive CHB patients do not respond to ETV therapy. Objective: To investigate whether the killer immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) genes were associated with seroconversion in HBeAg positive CHB responder patients treated with ETV. Methods: Polymerase chain reaction with sequence-specific primers (PCR-SSP) method was performed to genotype KIR genes in 200 healthy controls and 198 HBeAg-positive CHB patients which 59 were defined as the complete response group (CRG) to the treatment with ETV and 139 were defined as null or partial response group (NPRG). Results: The frequencies of KIR2DS2 and KIR2DS3 were significantly higher (P=0.030, OR=1.57,95%CI=2.36-1.05 and P=0.018, OR=1.773,95%CI=2.77-1.13, respectively), while, the frequencies of KIR2DL3, KIR2DS1 and KIR3DS1 were significantly lower (P=0.038, OR=0.525, 95%CI=0.96-0.29,and P=0.031, OR=0.640, 95%CI =0.95-0.43, and P=0.035, OR=0.641, 95%CI =0.96-0.43, respectively) in HBeAg-positive CHB patients than those in healthy controls. The frequency of KIR2DS3 gene was significantly higher in NPRG than that in CRG (P=0.018, OR=0.402, 95%CI=0.83-0.20). The frequencies of KIR2DL3 and KIR3DS1 genes were significantly higher in CRG than those in NPRG (P=0.019, OR=3.625, 95%CI=10.83-1.21 and P=0.041, OR=1.949, 95%CI=3.65-1.04, respectively). Conclusion: Patients with KIR2DS3 might have negative responses to anti-HBV therapy with ETV and patients with KIR2DL3 and KIR3DS1 might have advantage in the therapy with ETV.

- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: Objective(s): To investigate the effects of paeoniflorin (PEF) on the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis feedback function of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
cSingle-prolonged stress (SPS) was used to establish a PTSD-like rat model. The contents of plasma corticosterone (CORT), adrenocorticotropin hormone (ACTH) and corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) were measured by ELISA. Glucocorticoid receptor (GR), mineralocorticoid receptor (MR), adrenocorticotropic hormone-releasing factor I receptor (CRF1R), and adrenocorticotropic hormone-releasing factor II receptor (CRF2R) in the hippocampus and amygdala were measured by RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry.
Results: The results showed that on day 8 after SPS, model rats showed enhanced HPA axis negative feedback lasting to day 29. On day 29, plasma CORT levels increased in model rats, while plasma CRH levels had no significant difference on days 8, 22, and 29. The expression of GR and MR of model rats significantly increased in the hippocampus, while the expression of GR, MR, and CRF1R significantly decreased in the amygdala. After 14 days of continuous administration of PEF, the enhanced negative feedback was inhibited, and the plasma CORT level significantly reduced after 21 days of administration. Moreover, PEF could significantly decrease the expression of GR and MR in the hippocampus, and increase the expression of GR, MR, and CRF1R significantly in the amygdala.
Conclusion: PEF could regulate HPA axis dysfunction in a rat model of PTSD, which may be related to regulating expression of GR and MR in the hippocampus and amygdala and regulating expression of CRF1R in the amygdala.- انتشار مقاله: 28-03-1398

- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: Histamine is the main causative agent of scombroid poisoning. However, unlike scombroid fish, histamine poisoning due to consumption of flying fish has never been reported. In this study, the white muscle of flying fish had high levels of free histidine at approximately 423.9 mg/100 g, and was inoculated with Staphylococcus xylosus Q2 isolated from dried flying fish at 5.0 log CFU/g and stored at −20 to 35°C to investigate histamine-related quality. The histamine contents quickly increased to higher than 50 mg/100 g in samples stored at 25 and 35°C within 12 h as well as stored at 15°C within 48 h. However, bacterial growth and histamine formation were controlled by cold storage of the samples at 4°C or below. Once the frozen flying fish samples stored at −20°C for 2 months were thawed and stored at 25°C after 24 h, histamine started to accumulate rapidly (>50 mg/100 g of fish). Therefore, flying fish muscle was a good substrate for histamine formation by bacterial histidine decarboxylation at elevated temperatures (>15°C) when it is contaminated with S. xylosus. In conclusion, since the improperly contaminated flying fish muscle with S. xylosus could lead to production of hazardous levels of histamine over time when stored at temperatures >15°C, the flying fish should be stored below 4 °C or below to control proliferation of S. xylosus, and TVBN and histamine production.

- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: The two-step photosynthetic biogas upgrading process, which combines CO2 capture by carbonate solution and carbonate regeneration by using aquatic microbial oxygenic photoautotrophs (i.e., cyanobacteria, algae, and diatoms), may provide a potential alternative to the commercial routes used for gaseous biofuel upgrading. Such a process not only provides a green and low energy intensive biogas upgrading pathway but also converts CO2 in biogas into high value biomass. To improve the upgrading performance, the effects of light intensity and NaHCO3 concentration on the growth and the HCO3- transformation characteristics of halophilic and alkaliphilic Spirulina platensis were investigated in this study. Experimental results showed that the light attenuation of S. platensis culture was significant. Increasing light intensity up to 210 μmol m-2 s-1 effectively improved the S. platensis growth and photosynthetic pigment accumulation. S. platensis could grow in the range of 0.05 to 0.6 M NaHCO3, and a maximum biomass concentration of 1.46 g L-1 was achieved under an optimal growth condition of 0.1 M NaHCO3, which was 65.9% higher than at 0.05 M NaHCO3. Moreover, the bicarbonate utilization efficiency reached 42.0%. Finally, in a case study, a biogas stream at a flow rate of 800 m3 h-1 could generate biomass up to 344 kg h-1, corresponding an energy value of 5591 MJ h-1.
