- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: Phenylketonuria(PKU) is a metabolic disorder that, if not detected and treated promptly, causes mental retardation. The use of the geographic information system (GIS) in favor of spreading the disease helps to control the disease. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the local pattern of the PKU disease using the GIS in Lorestan province from 2006 to 2016.
Methods: The current descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on the patients diagnosed with PKU in Lorestan province from 2006 to 2016. The statistical population included all cases identified between April 2006 and March 2016. The ArcGIS 9.3 software was used to provide geographic maps of the incidence and frequency of the disease.
Results: The results showed that Nourabad county had the highest number of larvae with 22 (72.29%), and the most cases with PKU disease were with 2 cases (99.2%). According to GIS maps, the incidence of PKU from 2006 to 2016 was on an ascending tide. The highest incidence in these years was related to Nurabad with an average of 5.7 per 10,000 live births and the lowest incidence related to Boroujerd county with more than 0.53 per 10,000 live births.
Conclusion: According to the GIS map, Nourabad county has the highest incidence of PKU. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the majority of prevention programs for paternity screening and counseling couples, especially family marriages in the city, in order to reduce the incidence of this disease.- انتشار مقاله: 14-12-1396

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Phenylketonuria (PKU), is one of the most common metabolic diseases that resulted in mental retardation. The study aimed to investigate the incidence of phenylketonuria in Lorestan province, Iran.
Materials and Methods: The study was an observational-descriptive study which included all identified cases of patients from April 2006 to February 2016. The required data were collected from patients' records. The Entered variables in data survey checklist included gender, date of birth, County Residence, parental education, parental occupation, parental kinship, conducting genetic consultation and screening. Recorded data were analyzed in Stata-12 software after completion.
Results: Newborns were identified with Phenylketonuria during the years 2006 to 2016 and incidence rate calculated 1.91 per 10,000 live births. The highest incidence rate of disease was 3.86 per 10,000 live births in 2014. Delfan (Nurabad) County and Borujer County had maximum and minimum rate of incidence with 5.94 per 10,000 and 0.64 per 10,000, respectively. Among 74 patients, 42 (56%), were female and there was patients' parental kinship in 82% of parents that about 92 percent of suffering children parents had done genetic consultation.
Conclusion: The incidence of phenylketonuria in the Lorestan province is more than other provinces. Given that most cases of patients resulted from cousin marriages, paying attention to the screening tests prior to marriage, particularly in familiar marriage is essential.- انتشار مقاله: 12-10-1395

- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: Cancer is one of the main causes for mortality and morbidity in the world. Identifying epidemiology and the trend of esophageal cancer may be highly effective in related planning. The present study has been carried out with the aim of exploring the morbidity and trend of esophageal cancer in Iran.
Methods: The present study is a type of repeated analysis of the existing data. The population of this study consisted of the cancer registry data during the years (2003-2009) in Iran. The direct incidence rate was standard according to the World Health Organization (WHO) population. The incidence trend of this disease in this country was drawn by the means of the STATA software and the significance of the morbidity trend diagram was also derived via WINPEPI software.
Results: The results indicated the increasing trend of esophageal cancer up to 2008 while this trend has been dropping during the years 2008-9. The 31914 cases of esophageal cancer which have been recorded throughout the country out of which this rate has been increased from 2759 cases in 2003 to 6210 cases in 2009 so this rate signifies 2 times in morbidity and the recording of cases. During this 7-year career, the maximum incidence rate was related to the Ardabil province with 19.03 per 100’000 cases in 2009 while the minimum incidence rate was related to Chahar Mahal and Bakhtiari and also Booshehr provinces with 0.48 and 0.42% per 1000 cases in 2003, respectively.
Conclusion: The incidence rate of esophageal cancer in Iran is increasing, particularly in the northern and northwestern regions of the country. It is recommended to employ screening programs and premature diagnosis in the regions and among high risk populations.- انتشار مقاله: 16-06-1394

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Recently has been suggested that LINC01296 has an important role in tumor-promoting in different malignancies. We performed first meta-analysis to assess the association between the LINC01296 expression and clinicopathological criteria and the survival of patients with cancers. Methods: Relevant articles Identified by PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, and Scopus searching between December 2000 and 28 December 2018. Binomial data were evaluated by the odds ratio (OR) as the rapid statistic. The association between overall survival (OS) and the LINC01296 expression was evaluated using pooling the hazard ratio (HR) with its corresponding 95% confidence interval (CI). Results: Finally, 9 studies with 720 patients with cancer were included. The expression of LINC01296 showed a significant positive association with TNM stage (OR = 2.67, 95% CI = 1.83-3.88), tumor stage (OR= 2.22, 95% CI= 1.34-3.66) and lymph node metastasis (OR = 3.07, 95% CI = 2.23-4.21). A shorter OS was significantly associated with the expression of LINC01296 (HR = 3.95, 95% CI = 2.65-5.25) and lymph node metastasis (HR = 2.39, 95% CI =1.16-3.63). The OS did not show significant association with gender (HR = 0.83, 95% CI = -0.63-2.30) and tumor stage (HR= 2.66, 95% CI= -0.22-5.54). Conclusion: In conclusion, the results of this meta-analysis suggest that the expression of LINC01296 might be considered as a potential biomarker in patients with cancer.

- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: Objective: Colorectal cancer is one of the most common causes of death in the world. Despite of remarkable
advances in medical sciences, cancer is an important disease and the second cause of death after cardiovascular diseases.
The present study was aimed at determining the survival rate of colorectal cancer in Iran. Methods: The present study
is a systematic review of national and international electronic databases. Studies that had the inclusion criteria were
included in the study, electronically published articles over December 2007 and March 2015 were retrieved. The collected
data were analyzed by meta-analytic method through stata 11.0 Software, and the survival rate was measured. Results:
The 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-year survival rates of colorectal cancer in Iran were respectively calculated as 85, 75.10, 65,
55.40, and 52.The results indicated that there is a significant relationship between anatomic location of tumor and
survival rate. According to the results of this examination, survival rate of the patients with rectal cancer was 41.9
times higher than those with colorectal cancer. Conclusion: Due to the relative high prevalence of this cancer among
young people in Iran and the low survival rate, early diagnosis of colorectal neoplasms is necessary before they become
symptomatic through more effective diagnosis programs of enhancing the patients’ health and survival rate. Moreover,
it is necessary to conduct more specialized and relevant studies in order to determine genetic or environmental causes of
cancer such as diet and cultural and behavioral habits at the national level and with different ethnicities.- انتشار مقاله: 06-12-1396
