- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: Heterotopic pancreas is an uncommon developmental anomaly of upper gastrointestinal tract. Heterotopic pancreas tissue is very rarely found in ileum. Intussusception in children is usually idiopathic, but definitive aetiology can be established in 90% of adult cases. We are reporting a case of pancreatic heterotopia presenting as a lead point of ileo-ileal intussusception in a 1year 3month year old boy.

- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: Eccrine porocarcinoma is a rare malignant adnexal tumor of ductal portion of eccrine sweat gland. It occurs commonly in the lower extremities and rarely in scalp, face, ear, trunk and upper extremities. This survey presents a classic case of eccrine porocarcinoma of scalp in a 58 yr old male patient, presenting as cauliflower like growth over parietal aspect of scalp.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background & Objectives: Tubular adenomas are rare benign epithelial tumours of breast affecting predominantly females of child bearing age group. Till now, very small number of cases have been reported in the literature. Present study was carried out to evaluate the clinico-pathological features of tubular adenoma cases diagnosed during three years study period along with discussion of possible differential diagnoses. Methods: Overall, 346 female breast biopsies were diagnosed as benign lesions in three years (2010-2012), of which 10 cases of tubular adenomas were identified. Available clinical, radiological and cytological data of these cases were analysed retrospectively in detail. Result: Tubular adenomas were identified from 16 to 48 years of age with a predilection to younger age group (60% within 30 years). Most of the tubular adenomas were small and circumscribed mimicking fibroadenoma in almost all the cases. Diagnosis of tubular adenoma in each case was possible only after histological examination. Pre-operative diagnosis of tubular adenoma was not established by cytological and radiological evaluation in any case. Conclusion: Tubular adenomas are clinically indistinguishable from other benign breast neoplasms and it should be considered as potential differential diagnosis during histopathological evaluation of breast biopsies.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Purpose In the present study, efect of earthworm-processed MSW was seen on biochemical, physiological, and yield responses of Abelmoschus esculentus L. Methods Plants were grown on diferent amendment ratios of municipal solid waste vermicompost (MSWVC). Pot experiments were conducted by mixing MSWVC at 0, 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100% ratios to the agricultural soil. Results An increase in photosynthetic rate and stomatal conductance of plants grown at 20 and 40% MSWVC amendment ratios was observed. Total chlorophyll, carotenoid, and protein contents also increased signifcantly in 20, 40, and 60% amendment ratios at 65 days after germination (DAG). Likewise, proline, peroxidase, and lipid peroxidation increased with increasing levels of MSWVC at both 45 and 65 DAG. Conclusion The study suggests that MSWVC could be used as organic amendment in soil depicted by good yield and antioxidative response of lady’s fnger (A. esculentus) at diferent amendments of MSWVC (up to 60% w/w ratios). Furthermore, agricultural utilization of MSWVC will help in managing dreadful efects of the burgeoning amount of organic solid waste.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: India fights massive cervical cancer burden. This article highlights an innovative feasible approach
enabling tertiary hospitals to contribute to cancer prevention without compromising their primary mandate to provide
treatment. Methodology: Since 1979, National Institute of Cancer Prevention and Research (NICPR) support a tertiary
hospital in cervical cancer screening through a satellite clinic. Record review of 5328 attendees of this clinic between
January-December 2016 was done. Pap-smear testing and reporting were performed by trained NICPR personnel. Patients’
demographics, reproductive history, Pap-test date, cytology results were recorded and results were communicated to
respective units for further management. Results: Among 5328 women screened, 2% (96/5328) had abnormal cytology,
which included malignancy(33%; 32/96), Atypical Squamous Cells-Undetermined Significance(ASC-US) (20%;
19/96), Atypical Glandular Cells(AGC) (23%; 22/96) with complaints of pain in lower abdomen 65.6%(59/90), white
discharge per vaginum 46.7%(42/90) and backache 23.3%(21/90). In which, Muslims- 67% (65/96), illiterates- 58%
(56/96). Age>35(p<0.001), parity>3(p<0.05), illiteracy (p<0.05), Muslim women (p<0.05) had positive association with
abnormal cytology. Conclusion: Awareness about cervical cancer screening is the immediate need in resource-limited
countries. Government hospitals in such countries should house dedicated preventive oncology unit for cancer screening.- انتشار مقاله: 26-10-1397

- چکیده انگلیسی:
Cervical cancer continues to be a major public health problem affecting large numbers of women in many developing countries. Limitations of various screening modalities and the lack of ready availability of a cost-effective point-of-care screening tool have hindered the efficient implementation of population-based screening programs in these settings. It has not proved possible for many countries to adopt cytology as a screening modality due to inadequate infrastructure and trained manpower. However, recent developments, notably design and testing of a low-cost HPV test kit and initiatives by countries like India in developing and putting into operation a framework for large-scale screening of women, have raised hopes that cervical cancer control may be possible even in resource-constrained locations. With the advent of HPV vaccination, primary prevention of cervical cancer also seems a distinct possibility. However, wide availability and acceptability of vaccination is still an unresolved issue for developing countries. The possible future effects of vaccination on test characteristics of various screening strategies also need to be evaluated. This review gathers information on the current status of cervical cancer screening with a special focus on low resource settings. It revisits the strengths and limitations of the available screening modalities for cervical cancer viz. cytology, visual methods and HPV testing, in the context of their applicability in developing countries. In addition, the role of newer HPV-detection methods, for instance DNA, RNA and protein-based techniques, in triage of screen-positive women is discussed. The contemporary issue of impact of HPV vaccination on cervical cancer screening is also addressed briefly. The main highlight of the review is the reference to ‘operational framework guidelines’ for population-based cervical cancer screening, which have recently been formulated and are in the process of being implemented in India. The guidelines may serve as a model for other similar low-resource settings where implementation of cancer screening is desired.- انتشار مقاله: 14-11-1395
