- چکیده انگلیسی: India is a country of 1.32 billion population with 221 million registered vehicles on the road. Of these, 933950 three wheelers entered service in the year 2015-16 (114% increase from 2005-06). With atmospheric pollution and emission norms in mind, it is essential that we bring down the emission of vehicles. Tail pipe emission reduction is one of the ways to achieve that but, it is a difficult process. This paper explores the alternative. This work describes a methodology for retrofitting the conventional drivetrain of a vehicle with an electric power unit. This work describes the development of a real world drive cycle for three wheeler Autorickshaws in Bengaluru city. For this, the micro trip generation method is employed, which captures the driving conditions encountered by the vehicle on a regular working day. A Bajaj RE 4 stroke CNG vehicle is used as the test vehicle throughout the process. A GPS based data logging system VBOX 3i is used for data acquisition. The vehicle dynamics are simulated to determine the power rating required for the electric motor to retrofit the IC engine using one dimensional longitudinal acceleration analysis. Coast down test results determine aerodynamic drag and rolling resistance coefficients. Dyno test helps us to understand the torque requirements for the electric motor to be retrofitted. The results of the mathematical model and the dyno test are then used to find a suitable electric motor. The adopted methodology in this work can be used to find the suitable power train replacement for any vehicle.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Over the past century, the areas of genomics, proteomics and lipids have captured the attention of investigators worldwide. Carbohydrates, have recently received increased attention through the expanding field of glycobiology; probably because they are very complex and not encoded in the genome. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to express and purify recombinant human galectin 3via the Pichiapastoris expression system. Materials and Methods:cDNA of human galectin 3 gene was amplified with specific primers and cloned into a pcDNA3.1 vector with His-tag for easier purification using Ni2andchromatography. Furthermore, galectin 3was purified to homogeneity and confirmed using SDS-PAGE and western blotting. Results:The protein band corresponding to 29 kDa was excised from the gels, digested with trypsin and processed for mass spectrometric analysis by Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization- Time of Flight Mass Spectroscopy (MALDI-TOF MS), using a Reflex III instrument. Conclusions:Tryptic digest analysis clearly revealed that the purified protein was indeed galectin 3. Similarly, the biological activity of recombinant galectin 3 was confirmed using the hemagglutination inhibition assay.

- چکیده انگلیسی:
Background and aim: Glioblastoma (GBM) is one of the most common and aggressive brain tumors with a median survival of 12-14 months. The aim of present study was to evaluate the gene expression profile of stem cell markers Nanog and CD24 in GBM and to determine its relationship to outcome in terms of treatment response and overall survival. Material and methods: This was a retrospective as well as retrospective study which included 51 histologically confirmed cases of GBM. Expression of CD24, and Nanog was evaluated by RT-PCR. Control tissue included debrided brain tissue from open head injury cases. All cases of GBM underwent total surgical resection and subsequently chemotherapy. Immediate treatment response was evaluated at 3 months using Response Evaluation Criteria In Solid Tumors (RECIST) guidelines and overall survival was measured at 36 months. Result: As compared to control gene, expression of CD24 and Nanog was seen to be unregulated to 24.5% and 31.7% respectively. However, the difference in mean expression of cases and controls was not statistically significant. Correlation between expressions of these two markers was also not statistically significant. On univariate cox regression analysis, cases with >2 fold expression of CD24 and Nanog had significantly poor survival as compared to those with 2 fold CD24 expression had a statistically significant correlation with poor survival. Conclusion: An overexpression of CD24 by more than two fold was associated with poor overall survival in GBM. Poor survival may be related to increased "stemness" of tumour cells. Targeted therapy inclusive of drugs targeting stem cells directly or indirectly may be a promising therapeutic option.- انتشار مقاله: 24-02-1396
