Low health literacy is associated with a high prevalence of chronic diseases, including cardiovascular disease. Considering the significant burden of heart disease, improving the level of health literacy of individuals can play a decisive role in the prevention and treatment of these diseases and saving resources. The aim of this study was to investigate the level of health in patients to Angina pectoris, who referred to selected hospitals in Tehran.
Materials and Methods:This study is a descriptive-analytical study that was performed on 405 patients with angina referred to the heart clinics of selected hospitals in Tehran in 2017. Patients were selected by convenience sampling. Data were collected using demographic questionnaires, Health Literacy of Iranian Adults (HELIA) and analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics and Anova with SPSS software version 20.
Results:: The mean age of the patients was 53.08. The average score of health literacy of patients with angina pectoris (63.77 ± 15.44) is based on the fact that it can be said that the subjects in terms of health literacy were not at a sufficient level. The results of Anova statistical test showed There is a statistically significant relationship between health literacy level and age variables, education level, employment status, income level, duration of heart disease and heart disease and ways of obtaining medical information (p <0.05).
Conclusion: The findings showed that patients need more explanation to understand and use health information and need to spend more time acquiring information in a simpler and more understandable language.- انتشار مقاله: 25-02-1399

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Anxiety is one the main problems of patients on waiting list for endoscopic procedures. Previous studies have indicated adverse effects of anxiety on these patients.
Aim: to determine the effect of sound therapy on the anxiety and blood pressure of patients on waiting list for endoscopy.
Methods: This was a randomized clinical trial, in which 124 patients on waiting list for endoscopy were randomly divided into control and experimental groups at the department of endoscopy in Mustafa Khomeini hospital in 2012- 2013. Patients in the experimental group received nature-based sounds 20 minutes before endoscopy, while the control group received routine interventions. Anxiety (using spielburger questionnaire) and blood pressure were measured 20 minutes and immediately before endoscopy in both groups. The data were analyzed by independent t-test, chi-square, and Fisher’s exact tests using SPSS (v. 14).
Results: In the experimental group, 56.45% were women and in the control group 54.84% were men. The mean score of anxiety in the experimental and control groups was 31.6±3.3 and 68.9 ±9.5, respectively after the intervention (p<0.05). The mean systolic blood pressure of the experimental and control groups after the intervention was 120.6 ±11.5 and 150.0 ±20.8, respectively (P<0.001).
Conclusion: Sound therapy had positive effects on reducing the anxiety of patients on the waiting list for endoscopy and may reduce BP and anxiety. Thus, it is recommended as a non-pharmacologic intervention.- انتشار مقاله: 24-09-1393

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background
Death of a child with cancer is one of the most painful events that results in traumatic reactions of bereavement. Care should be taken into account during the bereavement period. The present study aimed to develop bereavement care in Iran and comparing it with Jordan, England, Australia and Canada, which have achieved the desired situation in the above area.
Materials and Methods
In this comparative study, the necessary data was made to databases of reputable and sovereign centers of the countries and palliative care programs. After accessing the pioneering patterns of world-wide palliative care, Iran's palliative care program, which came from children's service centers and access to the databases of those centers, was also examined.
Results
In the developed countries of Canada, England and Australia, a wide range of bereavement care is provided in care facilities. for example following the death of a child, in Canada family members are covered by all the bereavement care, in Australia formal caregivers increase their relationship with parents and are available to listen to feelings and in England all family members are supported. Jordan provides significant services in this regard such as visits at the bereavement ceremony, however, it is provided limitedly only in one center in Iran.
Conclusion
In the developed countries, pediatric palliative care is well developed. But in some developing countries, including Iran, there are only a few of these services for dying children and their families. As a result, the traumatic results emerge in social and family life activities.- انتشار مقاله: 09-08-1396
