- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Hemodialysis patients with end-stage renal disease (ESR) havelower physical, emotional, and cognitive functions than healthy people of thesame age due to their inactive lifestyles and treatment approaches. This studyaimed to investigate the effects of selected core stability exercises on the dialysisquality and muscular strength of male hemodialysis patients.Methods: In this quasi–experimental study, 30 male hemodialysis patients(age: 62.24±6.51 years; history of dialysis: 9.4±18.44 months) were selectedby convenience sampling and assigned into experimental (n=15) and control(n=15) groups. The quality of dialysis and muscular strength of the subjects wereassessed by blood sampling before and after dialysis and 5× sit-to-stand tests,respectively. A core stability exercise program was performed for 6 weeks, 3sessions per week, 45 minute per session.Results: Data analysis showed that there was no significant difference in thequality of dialysis between the experimental and control groups (P=0.485), buta significant difference was observed in muscular strength between the twogroups (P=0.001). Exercise has a significant effect on the variable.Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, core stability exercises can berecommended to male hemodialysis patients as a safe and practical strategy forimproving their muscular strength and quality of life.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Executive functions are impaired in children with attention deficit- hyperactivity disorder. One method to improve these functions is Compensatory rehabilitation. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of compensatory rehabilitation training on neuropsychological functions in preschool children with attention deficit- hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) symptoms. Methods: This is an experimental study by pretest, posttest and follow-up design with control group. Thirty two (32) children with attention deficithyperactivity disorder symptoms were selected using convenience sampling and randomly divided into control and intervention groups. The neurological tests included missing scan, day and night stroop, continuous performance test and trial making test. In the intervention program, parents were taught how to use effective strategies and skills to manage cognitive deficits in children, based on Tameshk package. Data was analyzed by repeated measure analysis of variance (ANOVA). Results: From the results of data analysis, compensatory rehabilitation had a significant effect on working memory (P<0.00), inhibition (P<0.00, errors; P<0.00, time) and shifting attention (P<0.01 errors in section A; P<0.00, time section A) in children. Conclusion: Compensatory rehabilitation utilizes skills and instructions to improve cognitive functions in children. The current research showed that training by compensation approach could improve neuropsychological functions in children with ADHD.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: In recent years, several studies on the body posture have been doneat schools, most of which have shown a high prevalence of varying abnormalityamong students. The aim of this study was to investigate the normal range andchanges process of lumbar curve in students, both girls and boys, in the agegroup of 10 to 18 years.Methods: A total number of 1800 students (male and female), in the age group of10 to 18 years were selected to participate in the present study. The student sampleswere chosen from the different cities of the Isfahan province in a randomizedand clustered manner. Each age category included 100 male and female studentseach. The flexible ruler was used to measure the lumbar curve angle. The factorialANOVA method, in SPPS16, was used for data analysis with α=0.05.Results: The data analysis showed that the age changes factor and gender factorhave a significant effect on lumbar curve changes in the level of P<0.05. However,the interaction between gender and age was not significant (P>0.05). This meansthat the changes process is similar in both gender groups.Conclusion: The lumbar curve angle is generally higher in girls. Moreover, thisangle increases in both genders as age increases to 18 years. The extent of thelumbar curve exceeds the normal limit in girls after 13 years of age with the onsetof puberty, which means that girls in this age group need additional attentionfrom the concerned authorities in order to prevent spinal abnormalities.

- چکیده انگلیسی: In this study, the effect of SiO2 and TiO2 nanoparticles on the gas separation performance of the polyurethane (PU) membranes has investigated. Polyurethanes were synthesized by bulk two step polymerization of polytetramethyleneglycol (PTMG)/polycaprolactone (PCL): isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI)/hexamethylene diisocyanate (HMDI): 4,4'-methylenebis(2-chloroaniline) (MOCA) in mole ratios of 1:3:2. Silica nanoparticles were synthesized using the sol-gel method by hydrolysis of tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) while commercial TiO2 nanoparticles were used. The neat PU membrane and PU-SiO2, PU-TiO2 and PU-SiO2-TiO2 flat sheet asymmetric mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) were fabricated by phase inversion and characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analyses. Although SEM observation showed uniform distribution of SiO2 and TiO2 nanoparticles inside the polymer matrix, agglomerated nanoparticles were observed at high silica contents in the MMMs of different SiO2/TiO2 ratios. Permeability of membrane samples were measured using pure CO2, CH4, N2 and O2 as test gases. The experimental results revealed that SiO2 and TiO2 could increase permeability of all gases when used separately or in combination. It was shown that when SiO2 and TiO2 were added in combined form, the separation performance of MMMs could be improved signifcantly; either permeability increased up to 120 barrer or CO2/N2 selectivity up to 34, although the individual effect of SiO2 and TiO2 on the selectivity of gas pairs was different.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play an important role in the expression of their target genes. The single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in miRNAs may affect their function and expression. The aim of the present study was to investigate the association between miR-196a2 rs116614913 polymorphism and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in the Iranian population.
Materials and Methods: This case-control study was performed among 103 lung cancer patients and 100 healthy controls. The polymerase chain-reaction restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) method and direct sequencing were used for miR-196a2 polymorphism genotyping. Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS software and t test method.
Results: According to the findings of this study, there was no significant association between rs11614913 polymorphisms and the risk of lung cancer in codominant model (CT vs. CC: OR = 0.67, TT vs. CC: OR = 0.74, CT + CC vs. CC: OR = 1.133), dominant model (CT+TT vs. CC: OR=0.657) and recessive model (TT vs. CC+CT: OR = 0.88). In addition, there was no relationship between the clinicopathological characteristics of patients and controls.
Conclusions: In summary, findings indicated no significant association between miR-196a2 rs11614913 polymorphisms and lung cancer in the Iranian population. Further studies with larger sample sizes are recommended to verify these findings.- انتشار مقاله: 02-02-1398

- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: Busulfan is one of the common cancer treatment drugs with infertility side effects. Fennel and cinnamon are two medicinal plants with fertility enhancement properties. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of fennel and cinnamon on busulfan induced infertile rats.
Materials and Methods: Forty male Wistar rats were divided into four groups including: sham group: healthy rats without intervention, control group: Busulfan treated rats, fennel group: busulfan and fennel extract treated, fennel and cinnamon group: busulfan, fennel and cinnamon extract treatment. Testicular tissues were sampled and the testicular physical parameters and spermatogenesis level were evaluated by H & E staining and optical microscopy imaging.
Results: The biggest and the smallest testis lengths were observed in cinnamon + fennel and fennel groups respectively (P < 0.05). The highest and lowest sperm levels were observed in the cinnamon + fennel group and fennel group respectively (P < 0.001). The total average of reproductive cells was the most in the cinnamon + fennel group (104.17) and had the least level in the control group (26.29).
Conclusions: The combined extract of fennel and cinnamon significantly protect the testicular tissues against infertility effect of busulfan. However, the fennel extract alone increased the effect of busulfan in rats.- انتشار مقاله: 23-10-1397

- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: Recent studies have indicated the function of polymorphisms in the miRNAs-binding sites within the target genes in cancer incidence. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between KRAS rs712 polymorphism within let-7 microRNA-binding site and lung cancer (LC) risk in the Iranian population.
Materials and Methods: This case-control study was performed among 100 patients with LC and 100 healthy individuals. The rs712 polymorphism in KRAS gene promoter was evaluated using the polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) technique and direct sequencing. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS software and t-test.
Results: The findings of this study revealed that rs712, TT and GT genotypes are significantly associated with LC incidence in the Iranian population (adjusted odds ratio [OR] = 3.556, 95% CI = 1.346–9.379, P = 0.01) and (OR = 2.45, 95% CI = 1.274–4.719, P = 0.01), and rs712 T allele was associated with LC incidence (OR = 1.711, 95% CI = 1.147–2.553, P = 0.01). In addition, our analysis showed an association between the rs712 TT genotype and LC metastasis (P = 0.006).
Conclusions: According to our findings, rs712 T allele is significantly associated with the initiation and progression of LC in the Iranian population and it may be served as a LC screening marker in the future.- انتشار مقاله: 07-04-1397

- چکیده انگلیسی: In this study, the relation between the permeation properties and structural characteristics of thermoplastic polyurethane based on polycaprolactone diol, TPU(PCL), and polycaprolactone (PCL) blends is investigated. for the purpsoes of this study, PU, PCL, and TPU/PCL blends containing 20 wt.% and 40 wt.% PCL were prepared via a solution blending method. The miscibility and good distribution of PCL in the soft segment of PU were represented by the reduced intensity of the band attributed to the NH band at 3400 cm-1 in the Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra. X-ray diffratcion (XRD) results indicated that the amorphous structure of TPU changed to a crystalline one when PCL was added. These results were further confirmed by FTIR and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analyses. The permeability of CO2, O2, N2, and CH4 gases at different feed pressures ranging from 12 to 16 bar were determined. A reduction in gas permeability due to the increase in PCL content was observed in the blends. However, gas selectivity did not change with addition of PCL.

- چکیده انگلیسی: In this study, whole lemons were dried using a laboratory convective hot air dryer and the effects of drying temperature on dehydration behaviour and mass transfer characteristics of the lemons were investigated. The drying experiments were conducted using air temperatures of 50, 60 and 75 °C and air velocity of 1 m/s. It was observed that the drying temperature affected the drying time and the drying rate significantly. Drying rate represented no constant period and the entire dehydration process took place in the falling rate period. The usefulness of five mathematical models to simulate the drying kinetics was evaluated and Midilli and logarithmic models were found as the best models describing the drying curves. The effective moisture diffusivity values were obtained to be 1.15×10-10, 2.29×10-10, and 7.63×10-10 m2/s for the applied temperatures, respectively. The activation energy was also determined to be 71.32 kJ/mol. The convective mass transfer coefficient values were calculated by the analytical model and obtained to be 4.078×10-7, 1.023×10-7 and 4.346×10-8 m/s for drying temperatures of 75, 60 and 50 °C, respectively.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Demanding high dimensional accuracy of finished work pieces and reducing the scrap and production cost, call for devising reliable tool condition monitoring system in machining processes. In this paper, a tool wear monitoring system for tool state evaluation during hard turning of AISI D2 is proposed. The method is based on the use of wavelet packet transform for extracting features from vibration signals, followed by neural network for associating the root mean square values of extracted features with tool flank wear values of the cutting tool. From the result of performed experiments, coefficient of determination and root mean square error for the proposed tool wear monitoring system were found to be 99% and 0.0104 respectively. The experimental results show that wavelet packet transform of vibration signals obtained from the cutting tool has high accuracy in tool wear monitoring. Furthermore, the proposed neural network has the acceptable ability in generalizing the system characteristics by predicting values close to the actual measured ones even for the cutting conditions not encountered in the training stage.
