fixation with hook plate (HP) and continuous loop double endobutton fixation (CLDE) in the treatment of acute ACJ
dislocation.
Methods: This retrospective study was conducted on eight patients with HP and nine patients with CLDE fixations for
acute ACJ dislocations. The subjects were evaluated by various criteria, including disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder,
and Hand (DASH), American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Standardized Shoulder Assessment (ASES), University
of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) shoulder rating scale, Shoulder Constant score, Simple Shoulder Test (SST), and
coracoclavicular (CC) distance.
Results: The differences between the mean scores of the visual analog scale for pain, DASH, ASES, UCLA
shoulder rating scale, and Shoulder Constant, and SST were statistically significant in favor of the CLDE group.
Mean difference of CC distance was 8.6±0.9 mm in the HP group; however, it was 11.6±1.2 mm in the CLDE group.
The operation time was shorter in the HP fixation, compared to that in the CLDE fixation (51±13.3 versus 105±9.7
min; PHP group.
Conclusion: The CLDE fixation was reported with better clinical outcomes than HP fixation; however, it was a technically
demanding procedure. The HP maintained the CC distance better than CLDE with a technically easy application. The
HP requires a second surgery for the removal and development of subacromial erosion and osteoarthritis of the ACJ
that can be regarded as major concerns.

- چکیده انگلیسی: The patient was a 61-year-old female with massive rotator cuff tear who had no history of smoking, COPD, asthma, or other pulmonary diseases. Four hours following shoulder arthroscopy, the patient developed progressive dyspnea, which was diagnosed as pneumothorax with subcutaneous emphysema extending to the neck and face. Chest tube was inserted promptly. The patient was discharged with a good condition after 7 days. Follow up of the patient for the next 3 months was uneventful.

Abdominal cystic lymphangioma is a rare benign neoplasm. Less than 1% of lymphangiomas is in the retroperitoneum. Lymphangioma is mostly asymptomatic. Chronic symptoms were reported in retroperitoneal type more than others. Acute symptoms due to complications like infection, cyst rupture or hemorrhage may occur. - چکیده انگلیسی: The current qualitative study was carried out to investigate the illocutionary force of "Ya Ali" (a deeply culture specific term literally meaning Oh Ali) which is employed by Iranians in oral discourse. This research also aimed at finding out different functions of "Ya Ali" in different contexts and finding their corresponding equivalents in English according to Neubert's text-linguistic model. Data were collected in two phases: First, sixty Persian native speakers of different age groups ranging from 30 to 70, of both genders were observed in 90 natural situations such as daily interactions, gatherings, in public or private places as well as on local TV programs. Second, to corroborate the representativeness of samples, fifteen people were interviewed directly when they utter "Ya Ali" (i.e. think- aloud protocol was used). It was concluded that "Ya Ali" may be employed in either religious or non-religious contexts. Moreover, functions of "Ya Ali" can be used in eight different contexts with different functions. According to Neubert (1991) the translator must modify the source text using a variety of methods, including explicitation, deletion, and modulation in order to produce a more satisfactory and pragmatically adequate translation. The result revealed that explicitation was the most appropriate method for transferring the different meanings of "Ya Ali" from Persian into English.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Context Family, especially the mother, has the most important role in the education, transformation of information, and health behaviors of girls in order for them to have a healthy transition from the critical stage of puberty, but there are different views in this regard. Objectives Considering the various findings about the source of information about puberty, a meta-analysis study was conducted to investigate the extent of the mother’s role in informing girls about puberty. Data Sources This meta-analysis study was based on English articles published from 2000 to February 2015 in the Scopus, PubMed, and Science direct databases and on Persian articles in the SID, Magiran, and Iran Medex databases with determined key words and their MeSH equivalent. Study Selection Quantitative cross-sectional articles were extracted by two independent researchers and finally 46 articles were selected based on inclusion criteria. STROBE list were used for evaluation of studies. Data Extraction The percent of mothers as the current and preferred source of gaining information about the process of puberty, menarche, and menstruation from the perspective of adolescent girls was extracted from the articles. The results of studies were analyzed using meta-analysis (random effects model) and the studies’ heterogeneity was analyzed using the I2 calculation index. Variance between studies was analyzed using tau squared (Tau2) and review manager 5 software. Results The results showed that, from the perspective of teenage girls in Iran and other countries, in 56% of cases, the mother was the current source of information about the process of puberty, menarche, and menstruation. The preferred source of information about the process of puberty, menarche, and menstruation was the mother in all studies at 60% (Iran 57%, and other countries 66%). Conclusions According to the findings of this study, it is essential that health professionals and officials of the ministry of health train mothers about the time, trends, and factors affecting the start of puberty using a multi-dimensional approach that involves religious organizations, community groups, and peer groups.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Heterotaxy syndrome or situs ambiguous is a rare congenital disease in which the pattern of anatomical organization of the thoraco-abdominal visceral and vascular structures is not arranged in normal position. Patients with heterotaxy syndrome represent a wide range of anatomical variations including thoraco-abdominal structures. Here we report a rare case of asymptomatic heterotaxy syndrome in an elderly female with multiple accessory spleens, stomach on right side of the abdomen, midline liver, azygos continuation of Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) and intestinal malrotation.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: Learning procedural skills is one of the essential aspects of undergraduate medical education. However, learning procedural skills in clinical settings is less widely considered. This study aimed to explore the Iranian undergraduate medical students’ perception of learning procedural skills and its outcomes in three universities of medical sciences in Iran.
Methods: A descriptive exploratory qualitative methodology with an in-depth unstructured, face-to-face interview, and content analysis was used in this study. Sixteen students in clinical phases of general medical education programs from educational hospitals were selected using purposive sampling. According to the preferences of the participants, the interviews were conducted in medical schools or in hospitals.
Results: The students participating in this study included 7 females and 9 males (totally 16 people) with a mean age of 23.7 years old with a range of 21-27 years. The three main themes of this study were “the gap of transferring formal teaching from skill lab to clinical placement”, “learning self-leading procedural skills in clinical settings”, and “students’ dissatisfaction with patients’ vulnerability” with 8 subthemes which were extracted and explained based on the students’ perception.
Conclusion: Unsupervised and self-learning by medical students and weakness in controlling the learning process have undesirable results for patients and students.- انتشار مقاله: 09-06-1397

- چکیده: هدف از این تحقیق بررسی تاثیر روش چندوجهی بر درک مطلب و یادگیری لغت در بین زبان آموزان ایرانی میباشد. نمونه آماری این تحقیق را 30 زبان آموز مذکر آموزشگاه زبان انگلیسی رازی شهرستان انار تشکیل میدهد که پس از برگزاری آزمون تعیین سطح آکسفورد به صورت تصادفی به دو گروه آزمایشی و کنترل تقسیم شدند. اطلاعات جمع آوری شده با استفاده از روش آماری تجزیه و تحلیل چندمتغیره کواریانس مورد تجزیه و تحلیل قرار گرفت و نتایج مرحله کمی این تحقیق نشان داد که استفاده از روش چندوجهی بر درک مطلب و یادگیری لغت زبان آموزان تاثیر مثبت دارد. همچنین در مرحله کیفی تحقیق نظرات و عقاید شرکت کنندگان گروه آزمایشی در ارتباط با تاثیر وجه تصویر، ویدئو یا صدا در درک مطلب، وضعیت کلاسهای درسی زبان آموزان، متون چندوجهی و ارتقاء سطح زبانی آنان از طریق پرسشنامه و مصاحبه مورد بررسی قرار گرفت. نتایج مرحله کیفی تحقیق نشان داد که زبان آموزان متونی را که با تصویر همراه است به سایر متون ترجیح میدهند. همچنین نتایج این مرحله از تحقیق نشان داد زبان آموزان از تکنولوزی و متون چندوجهی برای یادگیری، سرگرمی و ارتباطات استفاده میکنند. زبان آموزان بر این باور بودند که متون چندوجهی بر پیشرفت سطح زبانی آنان تاثیر دارد و آنها استفاده از روش متون چندوجهی را بر روش متون سنتی ترجیح میدهند. همچنین زبان آموزان اعتقاد داشتند که معلمان زبان باید از روش چندوجهی برای تدریس استفاده کنند در حالی که آنها از این روش برای تدریس در کلاس درس استفاده نمیکنند.
- چکیده انگلیسی: The studies that have investigated the effects of multimodality on reading comprehension and vocabulary retention of EFL learners in the context of Iran through mixed methodology are very limited. Accordingly, this two-phase study aimed to investigate the effect multimodalities might have on reading comprehension and vocabulary retention of Iranian EFL learners. To this end, the first phase of the study included a sample of 30 male EFL learners selected through intact group sampling who were homogenized by using an OPT (Oxford Placement Test). Then they divided into experimental and control groups randomly. Passages used for experimental group were accompanied by visual images, videos, and audio tracks, while passages used for control group were the same texts without any of these. For conducting the second phase of the study, in the control group the teacher introduced the new vocabularies of each text only by their L2 definition but in the experimental group the teacher used L2 definition and image for introducing the new vocabularies. In the qualitative part of the study, an open-ended questionnaire and interview were used. By comparing pre-tests and post-tests using MANCOVA, the results showed the effectiveness of using multimodality in L2 reading classrooms and vocabulary retention of EFL learners. The analysis of the results obtained from the qualitative phase revealed that learners preferred texts to be accompanied by visual images.
