- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Metastasis is the main cause of prostate cancer (PCa) death. The inhibitory effect of N-myc downstream-regulated gene 2 (NDRG2) on the invasiveness properties of PCa cells has been demonstrated previously. However, its underlying mechanisms have not yet been investigated. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of NDRG2 overexpression on the expression of genes involved in epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) including E-cadherin (E-CAD), α- and β-catenins, Slug and Snail, transforming growth factor (TGF)-α and -β, and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Methods: In the present in vitro study, LNCaP cells were divided into three groups, namely NDRG2 group (transfected with PSES-pAdenoVator-PSA-NDRG2-IRES-GFP plasmid), mock group (transfected with mock plasmid), and control group (without transfection). The effect of NDRG2 overexpression on the migration and invasion of LNCaP cells were investigated using the transwell assay. Real-time PCR was used for the evaluation of gene expression. - چکیده: یک روش پیش پردازش سیگنال سریع، قدرتمند، رضایت بخش و اصلاح شده که ترکیبی از تبدیل موجک با اصلاح سیگنال عمودی (OSC) است برای پیش پردازش داده های اسپکتروفتومتری نفتالن، آنتراسن و پیرن به عنوان آنالیتها پس از پیش تغلیظ آنها توسط روش استخراج مایع-مایع کمک شده با اثر نمک زنی (SALLE) مورد استفاده قرار گرفته است. حلال استخراج مخلوط در آب (1.0 میلی لیتر استونیتریل) و مقدار مناسب نمک (1.0 گرم از (NH4)2SO4) به محلول آبی (4.0 میلی لیتر) اضافه می شود و با استفاده از یک ورتکس که موجب جداسازی فاز می شود، حل می شود. آنالیت های هدف موجود در نمونه به حلال استخراج کننده وارد می شوند. بعد از استخراج جذب مخلوط آنالیت ها در ناحیه 400-200 نانومتر اندازه گیری میشود. پارامترهای مؤثر بر این روش استخراجی مورد مطالعه و بهینه سازی قرار گرفت. روش پیش پردازش تبدیل موجک و تصحیح عمودی سیگنال برای برداشتن نویز داده های اسپکتروفتومتریک و کوپل با روش مدلسازی کمترین مربعات جزئی برای اندازهگیری همزمان آنالیت های مطالعه شده بعد از فرآیند استخراج مایع-مایع کمک شده با اثر نمک زنی استفاده شده است. ارقام شایستگی روش مطالعه شده با استفاده از روش سیگنال خالص آنالیت تعیین گردید. مدل ارائه شده در این کار دارای توانایی پیشگویی خوب با ریشه میانگین مربعات خطا پیشگویی (RMSEP) به ترتیب برای نفتالن، آنتراسن و پیرن030/0، 024/0 و 013/0 است. روش ساده PLS-WOSC با موفقیت برای اندازه گیری همزمان سه آنالیت در نمونه های پساب آبی استفاده شد.
- چکیده انگلیسی: A rapid, powerful, satisfactory and modified signal-pre-processing method that is a hybrid of the wavelet transform with orthogonal signal correction (OSC) is used for pre-processing of spectrophotometric data of naphthalene, anthracene and pyrene as analytes after their preconcentration by salting-out assisted liquid–liquid extraction (SALLE) method. Water-miscible extraction solvent (1.0 mL of acetonitrile) and a suitable amount of salt (1.0 g of (NH4)2SO4) are added into the aqueous solution (4.0 mL) and dissolved using a vortex leading to the occurrence of phase separation. The target analytes in the sample was extracted into the water-miscible extraction solvent. After extraction, the absorbance of the analytes mixture was measured in the wavelength range of 200-400 nm. The wavelet orthogonal signal correction (WOSC) was established for denoising and reduction of spectrophotometric data and hybrid with partial least squares (PLS) regression method for simultaneous determination of the studied analytes after the SALLE procedure. The influence of various parameters, such as extraction solvent and volume, type and amount of salt, vortex time and sample pH were studied and optimized. The net analyte signal (NAS) method was used for calculating figures of merit. Linear range (LR) of calibration graphs for naphthalene, anthracene and pyrene were between 0.20 - 2.00, 0.10 - 1.50 and 0.07 -1.00 µg mL-1, respectively. The obtained model showed good prediction capability with root mean square error of prediction (RMSEP) of 0.030, 0.024 and 0.013 µg mL-1 for naphthalene, anthracene and pyrene, respectively. The simple WOSC-PLS method has been successfully applied for the simultaneous determination of these analytes in the spiked wastewater samples.

- چکیده انگلیسی: In today’s restructured environment, congestion management plays an essential role in power system operation. Different methods are presented and discussed in this respect for congestion management in short-term and long-term intervals. It is attempted in the present paper to investigate the impact mechanism of FACTS devices and demand response programs together with generation re-dispatch as some facilities from transmission, consumption and generation sides on short-term congestion management of electricity market. For this purpose, Thyristor controlled Series Capacitor (TCSC) representing series FACTS devices and Direct Load Control (DLC) program representing demand response programs in day-ahead power pool market are mathematically modeled and results will be numerically studied and analyzed on the 14-bus IEEE test system.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Decision making process requires information. Accounting is the most important source of information. In 1998, the international federation of accountants issued a statement about the scope and using of accounting. It identified 4 stages for using accounting information: cost determination, planning and financial control, reduction of resources waste and creation the value. This study was designed to provide insights into using accounting information in managerial decision making. Using the IFAC classification, this study investigated evolution stage of using accounting information in hospitals. The study population consisted of financial employees working at the hospitals located in Tehran (Iran). The study sample consisted of 54 private hospitals and 82 public hospitals. The instrument of data collection was questionnaire. Results showed that hospitals managers don’t use accounting information to reduce resources waste and create the value. Maybe, it is because of little familiarity with accounting in hospitals. Private hospitals managers use accounting information to planning and control. However, Public hospitals managers only use accounting information to determine the services cost. Findings showed that public hospitals managers use accounting information less than private accounting. Maybe, it is because of less accountability and using governmental resources in public hospitals.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Parents of children with cancer experience intense anxiety.
Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of emotion regulation training based on the Gross model on anxiety among the parents of children with cancer.
Method: This randomized controlled clinical trial was conducted on 60 parents of children with cancer admitted to a 130-bed pediatric hospital in Western Iran in 2018. Anxiety level was assessed pre- and post-intervention using the Beck Anxiety Inventory. The individuals of the test group attended emotion regulation training based on the Gross model, while the participants in the control group received routine training. The data were analyzed by the SPSS software version 23 using the repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) and independent t-test.
Results: Our findings demonstrated that the mean age of participants was 32.5±5.09 and 32.26±4.9 years in the intervention and control groups, respectively. Total anxiety scores of the intervention and control groups pre-intervention were obtained as 33.9±7.1 and 34.3±7.4, respectively. This score changed to 19.2±1.47 in the test group and 33.73±1.36 in the control group immediately post-intervention. Moreover, three months post-intervention, the scores of 22.17±5.8 and 34.03±6.96 were observed in the control and intervention groups, respectively. The repeated measures ANOVA revealed a significant difference between the two groups in terms of the effect of the intervention (P<0.001).
Implications for Practice: Emotion regulation training based on the Gross model could decrease anxiety levels in the parents of children with cancer. Therefore, it is recommended to be applied by caregivers for this group of people- انتشار مقاله: 23-05-1398

- چکیده انگلیسی: Objective: Influenza virus, which is associated with high level of morbidity and mortality, has been recently considered a public health concern; however, the methods of choice to control and treat it are limited. Our previous study showed anti-influenza virus activity of pomegranate peel extract (PPE). In this study, the mechanism through which PPE acts against influenza virus A/Puerto Rico/8/34 (H1N1; PR8) was investigated.
Materials and Methods:Ethyl alcohol extract of pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) peel was prepared, and the action mechanism of PPE in inhibiting influenza replication was studied by time-of-drug-addition assay, virucidal activity, RNA replication, hemagglutination inhibition assay, viral mRNA expression, and western blot analysis.
Results: PPE inhibited viral polymerase activity, viral RNA replication, and viral protein expression but could not affect hemagglutination inhibition and virucidal activity. According to time-of-drug-addition assay results, PPE inhibited the virus adsorption and early steps of influenza replication.
Conclusion: This study demonstrated that the antiviral effect of PPE on influenza virus is most probably associated with inhibition of viral adsorption and viral RNA transcription.- انتشار مقاله: 16-04-1397

- چکیده انگلیسی: Objective: Influenza A virus infections are still a major health problem and the choices available for the control and treatment of the disease are limited. This research evaluated in vitro and in vivo antiviral effects of Peganum harmala L. seeds (PHS) extract against influenza A virus.
Materials and Methods: In this research, in vitro anti-influenza A virus activity of the extract was assessed in Madin-Darby canine kidney (MDCK) cells. In order to evaluate anti-influenza activity of PHS extract in vivo, BALB/c mice were infected with 5LD50 of mouse-adapted influenza virus (H1N1; PR8) and received 200 mg/kg/day of PHS extract or 20 mg/kg/day oseltamivir. Lungs of seven mice per group were removed on day 3 post-infection and lung virus titers were determined by qRT-PCR. Mice survival, body weights and general conditions were observed for up to 14 days post-infection.
Results: The results demonstrated that, the ethanolic extract of PHS possesses high activity against influenza virus with IC50 value of 15.7 (CI95%:11.7-21) μg/ml in MDCK cells. Our results also showed that, oral administration of PHS extract (200 mg/kg/day) or oseltamivir (20 mg/kg/day) to infected mice, increased the survival rate, reduced body weight loss, and decreased lung virus titer.
Conclusion: Based on our findings, P. harmala seeds extract can inhibit influenza A virus replication in vitro and in vivo. Therefore, isolation and characterization of the plant’s active compounds and investigation of the underlying mechanisms of its antiviral action are highly suggested.- انتشار مقاله: 09-12-1395

Objective: There are a number of published data indicating in vitro anti-HSV activity of some of Iranian herbal extracts with no systematic review to discuss these results. Therefore, this article was aimed to review and discuss the methods carried out and the phytochemistry and bioactivity of the extracts used and also conclusions provided in these publications.
Materials and Methods: Published articles both in English (from Medline, Science Direct, EMBASE, Scopus, Pro Quest, Google scholar, Cochrane Library) and in Persian (from SID, Iran Medex and Magiran) databases, from 1966 to October 2014 were incorporated in this review. The in vitro studies that lacked CC50, IC50, were excluded.
Results: Only 42 published reports were found to examine Iranian herbs against HSV replication in vitro. Seventeen out of 42 studies in which 23 kinds of medicinal plants were subjected to crude extraction were included. The review of data showed that some of the herbal extracts including Hyssopus officinalis methanolic extract, Melissa officinalis aqueous extract, Quercus persica L. hydroalcoholic extract and Securigeras ecuridaca methanolic extract with selective index (SI) of 234, 877, >778 and 250, respectively were highly effective against HSV in vitro.
Conclusion: More comprehensive studies using more advanced methods are needed to be done to achieve promising anti-HSV agents from the bioactive compounds isolated from these herbs.- انتشار مقاله: 10-04-1394

- چکیده انگلیسی: Objective: Smoking cigarettes and smokeless tobacco are one of the causes of oral cancer. This study compared
the salivary level of cotinine in male smokeless tobacco users and smokers. Methods: In this cross-sectional
(descriptive-analytical) study, stimulated saliva samples from 30 male smokers and 30 male smokeless tobacco consumers
were collected and their cotinine contents were measured using the competitive ELISA method according the standard
curve. The data was analyzed with independent t-test and linear regression using SPSS-19, and Psignificant. Result: Among the 60 subjects with the mean age of 21.27±2.6 years, the average level of cotinine in
smokers (12.32±7.5 ng/ml) had no significant difference with that of smokeless tobacco consumers (11.23±4.4 ng/ml)
(p=0.49). Conclusion: Salivary levels of cotinine were not significantly different in smokeless tobacco users and
cigarette smokers. In addition, increases in the number of cigarettes smoked and in pack of smokeless tobacco used,

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background and aims: Human adenoviruses can cause a diversity of clinical diseases, but there is no antiviral therapy formally approved by adenovirus infections. Thus, antiviral agents derived from medicinal plants which are effective against adenoviruses infections are urgently required. Therefore, this research was aimed to evaluate in vitro antiadenovirus activity of pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) peel extract. Methods: In this research, crude ethanol extract of pomegranate peel was prepared. Anti-adenovirus activity of the extract was evaluated on Hela cell line using MTT (3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol–2-yl]-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) assay. The 50% inhibitory concentration (IC50) and 50% Cytotoxicity Concentration (CC50) of the extract were determined using regression analysis. To determine antioxidant activity, total phenol content, and flavonoids content of the extract, the 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay; Folin-Ciocalteu method and aluminum chloride colorimetric method was used, respectively. Results: The CC50 and IC50 of the extract were 165±10.1 and 18.6±6.7µg/ml, respectively. The selectivity index (SI), the ratio of CC50 and IC50, was 8.89. The IC50 of DPPH radical was 7.7±1.21 μg/ml, compare with butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), with IC50 of 25.41±1.89 μg/ml. The total phenol and Flavonoid contents were 282.9 mgGAE/g and 136.6mg/g, respectively. This study revealed that the pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) Conclusion: peel extract exhibited Anti-adenovirus activity, with SI value of 8.9, suggesting its potential use as Anti-adenovirus agents. Also this extract with high phytoconstituents could be a promising source of medicinally important natural compound.
