Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of emotion regulation training based on the Gross model on anxiety among the parents of children with cancer.
Method: This randomized controlled clinical trial was conducted on 60 parents of children with cancer admitted to a 130-bed pediatric hospital in Western Iran in 2018. Anxiety level was assessed pre- and post-intervention using the Beck Anxiety Inventory. The individuals of the test group attended emotion regulation training based on the Gross model, while the participants in the control group received routine training. The data were analyzed by the SPSS software version 23 using the repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) and independent t-test.
Results: Our findings demonstrated that the mean age of participants was 32.5±5.09 and 32.26±4.9 years in the intervention and control groups, respectively. Total anxiety scores of the intervention and control groups pre-intervention were obtained as 33.9±7.1 and 34.3±7.4, respectively. This score changed to 19.2±1.47 in the test group and 33.73±1.36 in the control group immediately post-intervention. Moreover, three months post-intervention, the scores of 22.17±5.8 and 34.03±6.96 were observed in the control and intervention groups, respectively. The repeated measures ANOVA revealed a significant difference between the two groups in terms of the effect of the intervention (P<0.001).
Implications for Practice: Emotion regulation training based on the Gross model could decrease anxiety levels in the parents of children with cancer. Therefore, it is recommended to be applied by caregivers for this group of people- انتشار مقاله: 23-05-1398

Background and objectives: Human adenoviruses cause a wide range of diseases, from self-limiting and mild infections to some life-threatening infections. Many studies have shown that components derived from medicinal plants have antiviral activity. Pistacia genus is rich in phenolic compounds and has antioxidant and antimicrobial effects. The aim of this study was to investigate antioxidant potential and antiviral effects of ethanol and crude extracts and different fractions of Pistacia atlantica Desf. leaves on adenovirus. Methods: Crude P. atlantica leaf extract was prepared by maceration with 80% ethanol. Hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate and n-butanol fractions were prepared using liquid-liquid extraction method. Toxicity on HEp-2 cells and anti-adenoviral activity of the extract/fractions were evaluated by MTT colorimetric methods. The concentration that caused 50% viral inhibition (IC50) and 50 % cytotoxicity concentration (CC50) were evaluated using regression analysis. Selectivity index (SI), as a marker of antiviral activity, was calculated. To determine antioxidant activity the 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay was used. Results: Ethyl acetate fraction showed the highest antioxidant activity with IC50of 1.54±0.12 μg/mL in DPPH scavenging assay. Based on our results, IC50 of P. atlantica crude extract on adenovirus was 15.72 μg/mL, with SI of 8.09; n-butanol fraction showed the highest anti-adenoviral activity among the fractions with IC50of 16.38 µg/mL and SI of 26.5. Conclusion: The ethanol extract and n-butanol fraction of P. atlantica leaves showed inhibitory effects on adenovirus and could be a new promising anti-adenovirus agent.- انتشار مقاله: 03-09-1398

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Contamination of pistachio nuts with aflatoxin, which produces strains of Aspergillus section Flavi, has been
a concern for the human and animal health and food safety.
Materials and Methods: Competitive ability of saprophytic yeasts in interfering with toxigenic strain of Aspergillus flavus
was assessed through different experiments. 186 soil samples were collected from different agro-ecological zones of pistachio
growing areas of Kerman province. A serial dilution method and YMA media were used to isolate yeast strains. Overall, 60
yeast isolates were screened for their ability to reduce the biomass of Aspergillus flavus via dual culture assays.
Results: The highest inhibition was achieved by five yeast isolates in the ranges 38 to 82%. Other investigations have
demonstrated the presence of significant interactions between saprophytic yeasts and A. flavus on biomass and aflatoxin
production. The highest rate of reduction belonged to the IPRIY-43 and IPRIY-39 which reduced the growth of A. flavusin
culture media.
Conclusions: Quantitative assessments showed the ability of five selected yeast isolates to reduce aflatoxin production by
85-98% in dual culture assays. More investigations are required to understand the ability of yeast isolates to reduce aflatoxin

- چکیده انگلیسی: Though learner-centered paradigm of education has long been introduced to pedagogy in general and language teaching in particular, it seems that scant heed has been given to its implementation as well as the restrictions and challenges on its way. In an attempt to shed more light on the status of learner-centered instruction in Iranian language schools, particularly as regards the impediments hindering its proper application, the current researchers selected a cohort of 240 teachers and 450 students for the questionnaire phase through convenience sampling, as well as 29 male and female language school learners and 30 EFL teachers for interview. Due to its mostly qualitative nature, the study made use of data gathered via questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. As the findings revealed, students referred to resource constraints and teachers’ tendency toward applying traditional practices as the two overriding barriers restricting proper LCE implementation. The other two prominent factors singled out by the findings obtained out of students’ attitudes were lack of clear definition of LCE and lack of familiarity resulting from improper training. As regards teachers’ perspectives of impediments, however, poor motivation on the part of teachers and parents’ lack of receptivity for LCE were identified as the most prominent barriers. Finally, in line with the interview findings, all three categories of teacher-induced, learner-induced, and context-relevant factors were reported to be responsible for limiting LCE implementation with variable degrees of influence. The study findings are thought to have practical implications for English language pedagogy in the Iranian context.

- چکیده انگلیسی: BACKGROUND AND AIM: The mechanical removal of plaque by tooth brushing is the most effective way for prevention of caries and periodontal diseases. Some studies indicate that the design and shape of toothbrush could be the effective for this point. The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of a Classic toothbrush with a Superbrush toothbrush in controlling plaque and gingival bleeding over a 2-week period of brushing.METHODS: This study was a crossover clinical trial, involving 30 healthy individuals who were dental students of both sexes, randomly divided equally into two groups with simple method: group A (Classic Toothbrush; Soft, Tepe, Sweden) and group B (Superbrush Toothbrush; Soft, Dentaco AS, Haukeland, Norway). After taking an informed consent, the baseline O’Leary plaque index (PI) and bleeding point index (BPI) was recorded, and the subjects were given common toothpaste (Crest). A prophylaxis was performed to achieve the PI of zero and then the demonstration of Bass technique was given to each subject. Each group started the experiment with a different type of toothbrush for 1 week which followed by 1 week of wash-out. After that, each group switched to the next type of toothbrush for 1 week. All subjects had to refrain from other oral hygiene procedures for the duration of the study. The results were analyzed statistically by independent t-test and paired t-test. A statistical significance was set at the 95% confidence level (P < 0.050).RESULTS: Superbrush showed a significant reduction of both PI (P = 0.050, P < 0.050) and BPI (P = 0.001) at 7 and 14th days with respect to the baseline. The analysis revealed that the Superbrush was significantly a more effective in removing plaque as compared to the Classic toothbrush (P < 0.010), while according to the BPI, there were no statistically significant differences between the two brushes (P = 0.185, P > 0.050).CONCLUSION: The results showed the efficacy of Superbrush toothbrush in a significant reduction of PI and BPI, so it can be suggested to patients as an alternative to the Classic toothbrush.

- چکیده انگلیسی: This paper deals with the modeling of punching shear failure in reinforced concrete slabs using nonlinear finite element analysis. The 3D finite element analyses (FEA) were performed with the appropriate modeling of element size and mesh, and the constitutive modeling of concrete. The FE numerical models are validated by comparing with the experimental results obtained from tested specimens and previous research. One slab served as a control without any modification while three slabs were strengthened. The ultimate behavior of FRP strengthened RC flat slabs under a centrally applied load. Each method of repair or strengthening is reviewed with emphasis on its performance with respect to the application details. The punching shear capacity, stiffness, ductility were investigated. In addition, the analytical results were compared with the predictions using the provision of ACI 318-08. The results showed that for control slab and strengthened specimens an increase varied from 4% to 105% in punching shear capacity is determined.

- چکیده انگلیسی: In this work we report preparation TiO2 hollow spheres and its application as an electrochemical sensor. Therefore the novel carbon paste electrode modified with TiO2 hollow spheres (TOHS), multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and poly-glutamic acid (PGA) film (PGA/TOHS/MWCNTs/CPE) was used for simultaneous determination of dopamine (DA) and piroxicam (PRX) in the presence of ascorbic acid (AA). The electro-oxidation of dopamine(DA) and piroxicam (PRX) has been investigated by application of the modified electrode using cyclic voltammetry (CV), differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) and chronoamperometry (CA) methods. The modified electrode accelerates the electron transfer reactions of DA and PRX. In addition it shows no significant interference of AA as the electroactive coexistent compounds with DA and PRX in biological systems. The fabricated sensor revealed some advantages such as excellent selectivity, good stability and high sensitivity toward DA and PRX determination. Under the optimum conditions the electrode provides a linear response versus DA and PRX concentrations in the range of 0.3–60 and 0.4–80 µM and with a detection limit of 0.2µM and 0.3µM(S/N=3) respectively using the DPV method. The modified electrode was used for determination of DA and PRX in human urine with satisfactory results.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Local anesthetics have been proven as a method to reduce postoperative pain and opioid use. It reduces side effects associated with drug use and may improve patient health and reduce hospital length of stay. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of intraperitoneal bupivacaine on post-operative pain in laparoscopic colorectal surgery. Methods: In this prospective randomized control trial, 63 patients aged 20-70 years candidates for laparoscopic proctectomy or rectopexy surgery, were divided into two groups. In the case group, anastomosis site was washed with 50 mL of bupivacaine 0.2% intraperitoneally. In the control group, equal volume of normal saline was used as placebo. Intravenous autofuser pain control filled with 3 g paracetamol was considered for all patients. Visual analogue scale (VAS) was recorded at 2, 8, 24 hours and narcotic usage was recorded totally for the first 24 hours after the operation. Results: There was no significant difference between pain scores according to the VAS criteria at 2, 8, and 24 hours after the operation in the case and control groups (P>0.05). Total pethidine consumption during the first 24 hours after the operation was lower in the bupivacaine group (49.03 ± 45.77) compared to the control group (77.74 ± 63.50), but the difference was not significant (P>0.05). However, the total dose of pethidine used after 24 hours after proctectomy (not rectopexy) was significantly lower in the bupivacaine group than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Intraperitoneal lavage with bupivacaine during the operation reduced post-operative total narcotics use in patients who underwent laparoscopic proctectomy, not in rectopexy.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: An efficient, promoted tri-component catalytic reaction between barbituric acid (or N,N-dimethyl barbituric acid), 4-hydroxy coumarin, and a wide range of aryl aldehydes using zinc oxide nanowires (ZnO NWs) to obtain some new 4-hydroxychromenylarylmethyl-6-hydroxypyrimidine-2,4-diones is described. Method: The reactants were successfully condensed via three C-C bond formation by zinc oxide nanowires (ZnO NWs) as an efficient, environmentally safe and recyclable nano catalyst to produce target molecules. In addition, the biological effects of synthesized products by the use of DPPH and acyclovir as positive controls and also Hep-2, vero cell, HSV-1, and adenovirus as four applied cell lines have been evaluated. Results: The results showed that synthesized products have anti-oxidant, cytotoxic and anti-viral activities and can offer promising prospect as biologically active agents. Conclusion: This achievement in an efficient and eco-friendly synthesis of novel analogous of hybrid molecules in aqueous media with special biological properties may engross chemists and pharmacologists as well as pharmacists in future.
