- چکیده انگلیسی: Background Nurses’ perceptions of ethical climate patterns have certain undeniable effects on hospitals. There is little evidence of possible differences in this element between public and private hospitals and contributing factors. Objectives This study investigated whether the perceptions of the ethical climate in nurses’ working in public hospitals differ from that of nurses in private hospitals, and which factors may affect nurses’ perceptions. Materials and Methods A cross-sectional study of randomly selected registered nurses (n = 235), working in four public hospitals affiliated to Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, and three private hospitals, was conducted in Sari City, Iran. A self-administered questionnaire, containing demographic characteristics and the Hospital Ethical Climate Survey (HECS), were used to assess registered nurses’ perceptions of public and private hospitals ethical climate. An independent t-test and one-way ANOVA were used to analyze the data. Results Across the five factors of HECS, the highest and lowest mean scores pertained to managers and physicians, respectively, in both public and private hospitals. Nurses who had a conditional employment situation and those working in pediatric intensive care units showed significantly more positive perceptions of the ethical work climate when compared to their peers (P < 0.05). Although the mean score of ethical work climate in private hospitals (3.82 ± 0.61) was higher than that in public hospitals (3.76 ± 0.54), no significant difference was found (P = 0.44). Conclusions Hospital managers need to discover better ways to promote safety and health programs for their staff according to nurses’ area of work and their type of units. They should also encourage greater levels of participation in safety-enhancing initiatives in the hospital’s ethical climate, especially in the areas of nurses’ perceptions of their physician colleagues, and for nurses with a conditional employment situation.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Asthma and allergic rhinitis are among the most common diseases in the world.
Objective: The aim of this study was to detect, by skin prick test, aeroallergens in allergic patients in Sari, Mazandaran in north of Iran.
Methods: This is a prospective study of skin prick test of aeroallergens in asthma, allergic rhinitis and their combination with clinical diagnosis. Three hundred and seventy five cases aged between 5 to 50 years, were referred to Tooba and Boo-Ali allergic centers of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences between December 2006 and July 2009. The aeroallergens studied included house dust mites (Dermatophagoides farinae, Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus), cockroaches, feather, aspergillus, Alternaria, pigweed, nettle, oak and maple.
Results: Of the studied individuals, 175 cases were males (46.7%) and 200 were females (53.3%), of which 156 (n=41.5%) reacted to allergen extracts. In asthma, allergic rhinitis and their combination, the respective positive percentages were 26.6%, 22.9%, and 32.6% for Dermatophagoides farinae; 26.6%, 25.3%, and 23.3% for Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus; 12.7%, 17.4%, and 11.6% for cockroaches and 16.5%, 4.7%, and 7.0% for the feather. Other allergens were positive up to 5 percent. Total IgE levels were elevated in 56.4%, 53% and 60.5% of asthmatic, allergic rhinitis and the combination group, respectively. Eosinophils count was elevated in 40.5%, 33.2% and 37.2% of the same groups, respectively.
Conclusion: The hypersensitivity to house dust mites is very common in north of Iran which may be attributed to the warm and humid weather of this area.- انتشار مقاله: 16-05-1395

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background
The most common type of feeding for infants is breastfeeding. Since breastfeeding mothers have low levels of breastfeeding knowledge, proper Health workers' support can play an effective role in raising mother's awareness and enhancing exclusive nutrition. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of telephone counseling during the postpartum period on exclusive breastfeeding.
Materials and Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted on 170 breastfed women referred to the 2 selected health centers of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences in 2018. The participants were randomly allocated into two equal groups (75 individuals each). The participants in the intervention group received telephone counseling by one midwifery expert. The control group received routine care. Data were collected using a questionnaire including demographic characteristics and a breastfeeding check-list. Exclusive breastfeeding rates were recorded two and six months after childbirth in both groups. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 24.0.
Results: A total of 165 mothers participants in this study. Based on the results, exclusive breastfeeding rate was 61% in treatment group and 39.8% in control group which was statistically significant (p=0.006). In addition, 24 neonates (28.9%) of the newborns in the control group and 19 (23.2%) in the intervention group were fed to the breastfeeding. This difference was statistically significant and indicates that the intervention Telephone counseling in postpartum period has a positive effect on exclusive breastfeeding (p = 0.027).
Conclusion
Based on the results, using a counseling program in this study led to an increase in exclusive breastfeeding in newborns. Pre and postpartum and lactation care for both mother and infant can increase health and exclusive breastfeeding.- انتشار مقاله: 26-12-1398
