- چکیده انگلیسی: Effect of ethanolic extract of propolis, royal jelly, honey and bee pollen in comparison with virginiamycin (as growth promoter antibiotic) as regards the performance and immune system of Japanese quail were assessed. We used 256 mixed-sex quail chicks in a completely randomized design by eight treatments, including control, ethanolic extract of propolis 1000 (PE1) and 5000 (PE2) mg kg-1, pollen powder 1000 (PO1) and 5000 (PO2) mg kg-1, royal jelly 100 mg kg-1 (RJ), honey 22 g L-1 of drinking water (H) and virginiamycin 150 mg kg-1 (V), and four replicates of eight birds in each replication for 42 days. There was significant differences for weight gain (WG), feed intakes (FI) and feed conversion ratio (FCR) between experimental groups. In addition, WG in V treatment (18.82%), H and PO2 treatments (16.87%) and RJ treatment (12.00%) were significantly higher than to control group (p < 0.01). Significantly higher values of FCR were recorded in control group while group PE2 exhibited a significant decrease for 1 to 42 day (p < 0.05). The results of effect of bee products on antibodies titer showed an increase in theNewcastle disease (ND) titer when compared with control and virginiamycin groups (p < 0.01). There was significant difference in antibody production against avian influenza (AI) and sheep red blood cells (p < 0.01). Significant differences were observed in heterophils to lymphocytes ratio among PE1, PE2, PO1 and PO2 with V and control groups (p < 0.01).

- چکیده انگلیسی: The study was conducted to evaluate the effects of different dietary oil sources supplementation on laying hens’ performance and fatty acids profile of egg yolks. Seventy-two 23-week-old laying hens (Tetra-SL) divided into six experimental diets (four replicates and three birds per replication) in a completely randomized design for nine weeks. Experimental diets were included: 1) control (no oil), 2) 3.00% fish oil, 3) 3.00% olive oil, 4) 3.00% grape seed oil, 5) 3.00% canola oil, and 6) 3.00% soybean oil. The diets were similar in terms of energy and protein. Egg production, egg mass, egg weight, feed intake, feed conversion ratio and fatty acid composition of egg yolk were determined at the end of the trial. The results indicated that the performance parameters were not significantly different between treatments in the entire period (p > 0.05). However, fatty acids profiles of yolk were affected by experimental diets (p < 0.05). Fish oil significantly reduced omega-6 fatty acids and increased docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) in egg yolk. Also canola oil increased linolenic acid content in the egg yolk. In conclusion, fish oil increased omega-3 long-chain fatty acids and decreased omega-6 to omega-3 ratio in eggs which may have beneficial effects on human health.

- چکیده انگلیسی: This study aimed to investigate the possible relationships among teachers' metacognitive awareness, their motivation to teach, students' perceptions of teacher credibility and students' affective learning, and motivation to study. Three hundred sixty-five English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students and seventy-four EFL teachers participated in the study. Three questionnaires were administered to students and two questionnaires were administered to teachers. The collected data were subjected to Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to test the significance of the hypothesized paths among variables. The results indicated significant positive paths from teacher metacognitive awareness to teacher credibility and teacher motivation, also from teacher credibility to teacher motivation and students' affective learning, and from teacher motivation and students' affective learning to student motivation. The findings also indicated that teacher motivation could significantly affect students' affective learning. Furthermore, the results revealed that teacher credibility promotes student motivation through full mediation of students' affective learning and the indirect intervention of teacher motivation. Moreover, the path leading from teacher metacognitive awareness to students' affective learning was justified through the indirect effects of teacher motivation and credibility. Implications for teachers and teacher educators are also presented.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Despite the existence of a vast growing literature on second language acquisition (SLA) research and a heated debate among second language (L2) researchers about the applicability of research to practice, there is scanty empirical evidence in this area (Nassaji, 2012). Accordingly, this paper reports on a study investigating in-service teachers' perspectives on the interface between SLA research and L2 teaching. A total number of 119 English language teachers responded to a questionnaire which collected both qualitative and quantitative data. The results revealed teachers' familiarity with SLA research. Although they held positive views towards the relevance of SLA research to language teaching practice, a low percentage of them indicated that they seek insights from research articles. Lack of time and ability were the most frequently reported reasons for not conducting SLA research. Similarly, teachers' lack of time and the difficulty associated with SLA research articles were the most frequently reported reasons for not reading these articles. Majority of the teachers appeared to conceive of teachers' and researchers' works as related and connected. However, in almost all cases a considerably higher percentage of MA teachers than their BA counterparts viewed SLA research as more relevant and useful for teaching purposes. Teachers also expressed their expectations from SLA research to address practical issues. Further, they highlighted practical aspects of SLA research as more relevant to their practice.

Background:
Pain, a common phenomenon in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients, is associated with many symptoms and problems. To investigation severity and distribution of musculoskeletal pain in MS patients.
Methods:
In this cross-sectional study, 115 members of the Mazandaran MS Association with confirmed MS were randomly selected to participate in the study. The patients were asked to fill out Numerical Rating Score and Nodric questionnaires, respectively. The data was analyzed by SPSS ver. 16 software.
Results:
The mean age of the participants was 30.43±5.86 years and 88 cases (76.5%) were female. The mean disease duration was 26.34±24.32 months and 87.8% of the cases were experiencing pain at the time of study. The mean pain severity was 3.75±2.25 and worst pain experienced was 5.73±2.12. The most common pain sites were: the knees (55.7%), wrist (43.5%), and neck (41.7%). Women experience higher prevalence of shoulder, upper back, and ankle pain (P- انتشار مقاله: 20-08-1393

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Acute pain is common after arthroscopic surgeries and it is one of the most important causes of patient dissatisfaction, admission time and increased morbidity . Gabapentin with anti-hyperalgesic effects can play a critical role in pre-emptive analgesia methods. The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy of gabapentin in pain management after surgery and the rate of drug consumption in patients who are candidate for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction arthroscopic surgery.
Methods: In this randomized, triple blind clinical trial, 114 patients who were candidate for arthroscopic ACL reconstruction were divided into two groups of gabapentin (G) and placebo (p), with 57 patients in each group. The intervention group received gabapentin 600 mg and a placebo was administered in control group. Patients received on-demand pethedine for pain management. The primary outcome was pain intensity according to the visual analogue scale (VAS) and the secondary outcome was the amount of opioid consumption and incidence of side effects (including: dizziness, sedation, nausea and vomiting) at 6 and 24 h visits.
Results: The mean pain intensity in G group at both the 6 and 24 hour visits was significantly lower than the control group (Both p <0.0001). Also, patients in the gabapentin group consumed less opioid at both visits in comparison to the placebo group (p <0.001, p =0.032). The incidence rate of sedation, dizziness, nausea and vomiting was similar in both groups. Conclusion: In arthroscopic ACL reconstruction, administering a preoperative single dose of 600mg gabapentin may decrease both pain intensity and opioid consumption.- انتشار مقاله: 30-04-1392

Background: Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most common focal mono-neuropathy. A study was designed to compare the effects of traditional open carpal tunnel release with median neurolysis and Z-plasty reconstruction of the transverse carpal ligament on post-operative hand pain and hand function in patients with idiopathic carpal tunnel syndrome.
Methods: Fifty-two patients with idiopathic carpal tunnel syndrome entered the study. The patients were randomly assigned into two groups to undergo simple transverse carpal ligament release or division of the ligament with Z-lengthening reconstruction. Forty-five patients completed the study. Two patients of the simple open surgery group and 5 patients of the Z-plasty reconstruction group did not complete the follow up course. After the procedure, the patients were followed to assess post-operative pain and hand function during a 12-week period.
Results: The scores of hand pain on the first day after surgery were not statistically different between the two groups (P=0.213). But the score of hand pain was significantly lower in the Z-plasty reconstruction group at week 1, week 3, and week 6 after surgery (P<0.001). However, at week 12, no patient complained of hand pain in both groups.
Considering hand function, no patient had normal hand grip after the first week, but after three weeks, a significantly higher proportion of patients in the Z-plasty reconstruction group had reached near normal hand grip (76.1% vs. 29.1%;). However, at weeks 6 and 12, the differences were not statistically different between the two groups.
Conclusion: We observed significant reduction in hand pain, shorter duration of hand pain and shorter period of time to reach normal hand grip by Z-plasty reconstruction of the TCL.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Objective(s): Sesame oil is a lipophilic compound and has low aqueous solubility and low oral bioavailability. It is possible to enhance sesame oil solubility in aqueous media by applying the microemulsion system in the form of oil-in-water. In this study, the anti-cholesterol and anti-Apoptotic effects of a new combination of sesame oil and honey in a microemulsion form for cardiac muscle cells Apoptosis treatment were investigated.
Materials and Methods: Two different formulations were prepared. Tween 80 was used as the main surfactant in both formulations. In the first formulation, glycerin was applied as co-surfactant. Span 80 was applied as a mixed surfactant in the second formulation.
Results: Characterization results showed that the average size of droplets of microemulsion samples were in the range of 16.6±0.1-64.6±0.2 nm with a poly dispersity index (PDI) value of less than 0.5. No turbidity and phase sedimentation were observed in certain samples in a period of 6 months after the preparation, which confirmed the high stability of samples. The in-vivo results in Wistar male rats with heart failure showed that applying sesame oil and honey in the microemulsion form caused a significant reduction in the Apoptosis level. In addition, favorable therapeutic effects for microemulsion administration was observed in comparison to the Atorvastatin drug consumption. Furthermore, the protective effect of microemulsion dosage was more obvious with increasing the oil percentage and adding honey as a hydrophilic additive.
Conclusion: Results confirmed that the new formulation containing sesame oil and honey as natural components with nano particle size could be useful for cardiac muscle cells Apoptosis treatment.- انتشار مقاله: 06-07-1396

- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: The aim of this research was to study the effect of eight weeks of aerobic training with ginger supplementation on plasma visfatin and lipid profile in obese men. Methods: Forty volunteer middle-aged obese men were divided randomly into four equal groups (n=10) including; placebo, ginger supplement, aerobic training and aerobic training with ginger supplement. Aerobic training consisted of eight weeks, three sessions per week and intensity of 55-65 percentage of maximum heart rate. Ginger supplementation consisted of 3 gr ginger consumption as capsule, three times before each meal for eight weeks. Changes of plasma levels of visfatin and lipid profile were assayed before and after eight weeks. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA test and Tucky’s post-hoc comparison (p<0.05). Results: There was significant difference between groups in plasma levels of visfatin (p=0.03), VLDL (p=0.01) and TG (p=0.03). The observed difference was related to placebo and aerobic training with ginger supplement groups. Conclusion: It seems that eight weeks of aerobic training with ginger supplementation may improve some cardiovascular risk factors in middle-agesd obese men.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has been recently very common; however, there is no definitive treatment for it. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of nonlinear resistance training with curcumin supplement on liver enzymes in men with non- alcoholic fatty liver disease. Methods: Forty-eight men with obesity and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (mean age: 38.24 ± 6.59 years and BMI: 29.27 ± 4.43 kg.m-2) were selected and randomly divided into 4 groups including resistance training (RT), resistance training with curcumin supplement (RTCS), curcumin supplement (CS) and placebo (P). Before and after the protocol blood samples were taken to investigate the alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) levels. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), paired sample t- test and Tukey post hoc test were used to analyze the data (p<0.05). Results: The results indicated significant difference between groups in ALT (p=0.0001) and AST (p=0.0001) levels following 12 weeks of exercise and supplement interventions. Post-hoc multiple comparison of ALT and AST was significant between RT and RTCS groups with CS and P groups (p=0.0001). ALP levels was not significantly different between groups (p=0.05). Conclusion: It seems that nonlinear resistance training with curcumin supplement improves the liver enzymes in men with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
