- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Today, e-learning has become an integral part of educational practice around the world and plays a relatively significant role in student learning. E-learning is an educational approach in which educators and learners make use of electronic tools and technologies to communicate with each other in spite of distance and lack of close communication. The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of e-learning and conventional methods on the academic motivation and performance of fifthgrade elementary school students in Shiraz, Iran. Methods: A descriptive study was conducted in 2019-2020 academic year. A convenience sampling method was applied and the research sample consisted of 268 students (134 in e-learning group; 134 in conventional education group). Data collection tools included the EPT questionnaire (Based on Pham and Taylor) and the academic motivation questionnaire (Vallerand et al.). Independent t-test was used for data analysis. Results: the results showed that the mean of the academic motivation among the e-learning students is higher than the conventional learning students (p <0.001). Furthermore, in terms of academic performance, the mean score of the motivation component in the e-learning group was higher than the conventional education group (P=0.03). There was no significant difference between the two groups in other components of the academic performance. Conclusion: The results showed that e-learning had a greater impact on student motivation. More research with larger samples is required to better understand the possible advantages of this method.

This can be a fully online learning process implemented through one of the web services, where the curriculum and learning activities are online or blended and intelligent. With the ever growing popularity of computers and networks, web learning (e-learning) has turned into a more feasible and accepted approach worldwide (1). Being an essential tool for supporting education and learning, the Web has become an important component of higher education programs. A variety of learning activities including communication, information retrieval, collaboration, evaluation, etc. are performed in this network. Researchers believe that web learning will continue to grow and claim a larger share of the higher education market.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Currently the social networking application Instagram has taken higher priority of usage over many other such social networking applications. Objectives: In the present study, an attempt was made to determine the relationship between Instagram addiction and sleep quality of students pursuing a speech and hearing course. Methods: The present study adopted a correlational research design. The sample consisted of 110 students, comprised of 18 male and 92 female students aged between 17 and 25 years old from Mysuru city. Students pursuing a speech and hearing course completed the test for Instagram addiction (TIA) developed by D’Souza, Samyukta and Bivera, and Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) during September to November, 2018. Test for Instagram addiction measured addiction by considering six factors, including lack of control, disengagement, escapism, health and interpersonal troubles, excessive use, and obsession. The PSQI measured global sleep quality. Pearson’s correlations were employed to find the relationship between dimensions of Instagram addiction and sleep quality. Stepwise multiple regression was employed to find the major predictors of sleep quality by factors of Instagram addiction. Results: The results revealed that among students pursuing speech and hearing selected for the study, only 0.9% were definitely addicts and 14.5% were ‘addicts prone’. The majority of the selected sample (60.9%) had healthy sleep quality. As addiction to Instagram increased, sleep quality of dental students decreased linearly and significantly (r = 0.536). ‘Escapism’ (29.8%) and ‘disengagement’ (2.5%) factors of test for Instagram addiction were found to be the major predictor (32.3%) of sleep quality. Conclusions: It was concluded that Instagram addiction affects sleep quality negatively

- چکیده انگلیسی: Context: The main goal of this research is to explore the views of post-graduate students in Kerman regarding information overload in real-time mobile web applications in order to provide better, more appropriate solutions for eliminating and controlling information overload. Methods: The views of post-graduate students regarding information overload in real-time mobile web applications were assessed by sending/receiving questionnaires to the emails of 330 post-graduate students from the Kerman government universities who were chosen using Morgan's table sampling technique. The reliability of research questionnaires were analyzed in the SPSS software using Cronbach's alpha coefficient, which was 0.908 for this research. Results: The findings showed that the students had positive views about influencing factors of information overload, moderate views about personal influencing factors in dealing with information overload, positive views about effective tools for controlling information overload, moderate views about personal influencing and environmental factors in eliminating information overload, positive views about solutions for mitigating information overload, and negative views about the effects of information overload on users (P = 0.01). This means that all the independent variables directly affect the viewpoints of graduate students. Conclusions: The research results show that irrelevant information for the user, the amount of monitoring and evaluation of individuals and management of discussion groups, wrong and incorrect information, and violation of privacy are the main factors responsible for information overload. Furthermore, training programs on user interaction with information are considered as personal and environmental influencing factors in eliminating information overload. Management of personal knowledge, referring the work to professionals, and filtering the information are considered as important solutions for mitigating information overload, and informational stress and anxiety, despair and hopelessness in retrieving relevant information, informational fatigue, expenditure loss, reduced ability to think deeply, and reduced use of mental skills are considered as the most important effects of information overload on users.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background : Nowadays, educational systems need schools that provide continuous learning and new opportunities for people to experience life in the information society by using information and communications technology. This study aimed to compare the fluidity, recalling power, educational attainment motivation and educational attainment of students in smart and ordinary schools in physics 1. Methods : This was a causal-comparative study, the subjects of which included 56 high school boys of Arak District 2. Abedi creativity test, Herman educational attainment test and a researcher-made test were used to assess groups. Face validity of tests was confirmed by 5 experts in physics and 5 in education and training field. To assess the reliability exam fluidity, the correlation coefficient (0.95) was used. Two methods were used to test the reliability of the achievement motivation test including Cronbach’s alpha (0.87) and split-half. In split-half method, the Spearman-Brown correlation coefficient formula (0.72) was used. Test-retest method was used to determine the reliability of the tests. The correlation coefficient between the results obtained from two tests was 0.96. Data were analyzed using SPSS statistical software version 20 and descriptive statistics, two-sample t-parametric tests at 95%. Results : Findings showed that there is a significant difference between the mean scores of the fluidity of the experimental group (38.14) and the control group (41.71) (P = 0.027). Moreover, there was a significant difference between the mean recalling scores of the experimental group (4.42) and the control group (5.80) (P = 0.002). However, there was no significant difference between the mean scores on educational attainment in experimental group (39.18) and control group (41) (P = 0.09). Furthermore, no significant difference was observed between the mean score of educational attainment (12.23) and the control group (13.25) (P = 0.395). Conclusions : Creativity, recalling power of students in traditional classroom physics 1 was more than the smart classroom at the end of the school year. Moreover, there was no significant difference between the two classes regarding the educational attainment and the achievement motivation.
