- چکیده انگلیسی: Myocardial infarction (MI) decreases patients’ quality of life (QOL). The present study aimed to investigate the effect of relaxation training and exercise on QOL in post-MI patients. This single-blind, randomized, clinical trial was conducted on 64 post-MI patients at Fatemeh Zahra Hospital in Sari, Iran, in 2013. The study population was divided into two groups of intervention and control. The intervention group received training and was followed-up for 8 weeks at home. The data were collected using MacNew QOL Questionnaire. Data analysis was performed in SPSS (version 16) using t-test. There were significant differences between the intervention and control groups regarding the mean scores of the three QOL domains. Total QOL showed a significant difference after relaxation program (P≤0.001). Relaxation exercises resulted in the improvement of QOL in post-MI patients. Therefore, nurses are recommended to train these exercises to patients to practice at home.

- چکیده انگلیسی: When a natural gas pipeline ruptures, the adjacent automatic line control valves (ALCVs) should close quickly to prevent leakage or explosion. The differential pressure set point (DPS) at each valve location is the main criteria for value setting in ALCV action. If the DPS is not properly adjusted, the ALCV may mistakenly close or it may not take any action at proper time. This study focused on the DPS values prediction for setting ALCV installed on a gas pipeline. The effect of characteristic parameters such as pipeline operational pressure (POP) and pipeline pressure drop rate (ROD) due to rupture or major leak was experimentally investigated on DPS. 25 different conditions with double set of typical mentioned characteristic parameters were chosen. For each condition, the differential pressure (DP) was measured over 180s by statistically analyzing the experimental results. Therefore, 25 maximum DP values (DPSs) were obtained. The DPS increases by increase in ROD or decreasing POP parameters. Because of using nitrogen gas instead of natural gas due to safety reasons, the DPS results can be practically applied by adding a safety factor of 15%. The diagram of DPS with respect to ROD and DOP versus RTP were provided for different POPs.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: OCT4B1, a variant of OCT4, is expressed in both cancer cells and tissues. This variant has a main role in the regulation of both apoptotic and stress (heat-shock proteins) pathways. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of OCT4B1 silencing on the expression of small heat-shock proteins (sHSPs)in three human tumor cell lines. Methods:AGS (gastric adenocarcinoma), 5637 (bladder tumor) and U-87MG (brain tumor) cell lines were transfected with specific OCT4B1 siRNA (test group) and scramble siRNA (control group), using siRNA and Lipofectamine. Real-Time PCR Array technique was applied and the fold changes were calculated using RT2 Profiler PCR Array Data Analysis version 3.5. Results: It was revealed that HSPB1, HSPB6 and HSPE1 were down-regulated in all three studied tumor cell lines and HSPB2, HSPB7 and HSPB8 were down-regulated in two of three studied tumor cell lines (AGS and 5637). It was also revealed that HSPB3 was down-regulated in 5637 cell line and up-regulated in AGS and U87MG cell lines. Conclusion: According to the results, it may be concluded that there is a direct relationship between OCT4B1 and sHSPs gene family expression. Thus, suppression of OCT4B1 may be considered in cancer therapy/research.

In this study, the effect of characteristic parameters such as pipeline operational pressure (POP) and pipeline pressure drop rate (ROD) due to rupture or a major leak was experimentally investigated on DPS. 25 different conditions with the double set of the mentioned typical characteristic parameters were chosen. In each condition, the differential pressure (DP) was measured over a period of 180 s by statistically analyzing the experimental results, so 25 maximum DP values (DPSs) were obtained. The DPS rises by an increase in ROD or a decrease in POP. Because of using nitrogen gas instead of natural gas for safety reasons and the uncertainties, the DPS results can be practically applied by adding a safety factor of 15%. Finally, the diagram of DPS with respect to ROD and that of non-dimensional DPS (DOP) versus non-dimensional ROD (RTP) were provided for different POP’s.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Neuropeptide Y (NPY) is a 36 amino acid peptide found throughout the central and peripheral nervous
system of rat and human. NPY has been proposed to play an important role in satiety. The aim of this study
was to produce cell lines that secrete high levels of bioactive NPY. For this purpose, the complementary
DNA (cDNA) that encodes NPY was isolated by PCR. The cDNA was then cloned into pCEP4, to form
pCEP4NPY. 6-23 cells were transfected with pCEP4NPY by electroporation. Transfected cells were selected by the addition of hygromycin B to the culture medium. Resistant colonies were picked and transferred to 96-well plates. The medium was tested for IRNPY using a specific NPY radioimmunoassay (RIA). The IR-NPY secreted by the cells was characterized by sephadex G50 chromatography and reversed phase fast protein liquid chromatography (FPLC). It was found to co-elute with the synthetic standard in both cases. RNA was extracted from the cells and subjected to Northern blot analysis using labeled NPY cDNA as a probe. - چکیده انگلیسی: Aim and objectives: Natural products and derivatives of medicinal vegetation can play an important role to the
cure tumor. The Present study was focused to determine the effect of Cornus mass L. extract on the induction of
apoptosis in AGS gastric carcinoma cell line in compared to L929 cells. Methods: In this experimental study, AGS
and L929 cells were cultured and treated with different concentrations (0–10 mg/ml) of Cornus mass L. extract for 48
and 72 hours. Cell proliferation was assessed by MTT assay. The optical density of the colored solution was quantified
at 570 nm wavelengths by an ELISA Reader. Making use of the apoptosis detection kit of Annexin V-FITC, PI and
double staining with Annexin V-FITC were carried out for flow cytometry investigations. Data were analyzed by
ANOVA. Variations with a P-value less than 0.05 were considered significant. Results: shows a noticeable deviation
among various concentrations of extract when cells were treated for 48, 72 h declined cell viability in AGS cell line in
comparison L929 cell lines in a dose and time-dependent manner (P < 0.05). This extract also displayed approximately
several-fold increased anti-cancer potency in AGS compared to L929 cells. The IC50 value in AGS cells (evaluated
after 48,72h) of the extract against AGS cells was 5/44, 2/44 mg/ml (p≤0.05). The analysis results of flow cytometry
indicated that apoptosis was induced by the extract in AGS cells treated, compared with L929 cells. Conclusion: Each
of our results implicates the reality that Cornus mass L. extract acts as a novel, potent inhibitor of cancer proliferation
in in vitro. This may result in developing a promising therapeutic agent for the treatment of indole-sensitive cancers.- انتشار مقاله: 17-02-1397
