- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: The increasing significance of hospitals in improving physical and mental health has led to focusing on improved quality and higher patients’ satisfaction. The purpose of the present research is to determine performance quality of authorities and departments of Shahid Bahonar educational hospital from practitioners’ perspectives. Methods: This cross-sectional analytical-descriptive study was conducted in 2016. Research sample included 110 doctors of Shahid Bahonar educational hospital in Kerman. Research data were collected through a reliable and validated researcher-made questionnaire. Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Mann–
Whitney, Kruskal –Wallis, and one sample t-test were used for data analysis (p≤0.05). Results: Mean quality performance scores of hospital administrators (4.19 ± 0.62), wards (3.96 ± 0.55), quality of service delivery (3.25 ± 0.59), and working motivation in practitioners (3.61 ± 0.72) were obtained. The results also showed that younger employees (p = 0.01) and younger practitioners (p = 0.01) represented significantly better perspectives of performance quality of authorities and working motivation conditions; in addition, medical specialists showed better perspectives than general practitioners (p = 0.02). Quality of service delivery satisfaction and working motivation significantly reduced in individuals with over 15 years of working experiences (p = 0.01). Conclusion: Results revealed that practitioners’ perspectives on performance quality of authorities and hospital wards relatively developed in recent years, particularly due to in-service training and establishing a responsible system to implement health reform plan especially in hospitals.- انتشار مقاله: 10-05-1397

- چکیده انگلیسی: In this study, thin films of pure ZnO and doped ZnO with different percentages of gallium (0.5, 1, 2 and 4vt. %) on the glass substrates were deposited by using sol-gel method via spin coating technique at 2500 rpm, and all layers were annealed at 200°C for 1h and then Were examined their electrical, optical and structural properties. Concentration of all solution was 0.1M. The results show that the optimized layer is 0.5% GZO. By examining the transmittance spectrums we find that by doping the transparency of samples were improved and all samples in the visible areas 400-800nm are transparent. The electrical conductivity of all samples has been measured by four-point probe technique. The electrical conductivitys of pure ZnO sample and 0.5% GZO are 910-5 S/cm and 110-4 S/cm respectively. It can be a good choice for optoelectronic applications. Also X-ray diffraction results showed that diffraction peaks of 0.5% GZO sample have a small changes towards lower angles compared to the diffraction peaks of ZnO.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Phenolic compounds are found in wastewater of many industries such as pulp and paper, textile, petrochemical, oil refineries, production of phenolic resins, plastics, coal furnace, tannery, rubber reclamation plant, fertilizers, coke, paints, rubber, decolorizer, resins, rubber and phenol- formaldehyde resin industries. This study aimed to evaluate Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) performance in phenol removal from wastewater. Methods: The MBBR with Hydraulic Retention Time (HRT) of six hours was operated for 105 days. The effect of phenol concentration (0-500 Mg/L) on the MBBR performance was assessed in three phases of 0-100, 100-300 and 300-500 Mg/L phenol concentration. Results: In this study, at phenol concentration of 100 Mg/L, phenol and COD removal efficiencies were 95.5-97% and 94%, respectively. The removal efficiencies for phenol concentrations of 300 Mg/L and 500 Mg/L were 94.5-96.5% and 92-94.5%, respectively. Conclusion: Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) is a promising method for phenol removal from wastewater.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background and Aims: Hydatid cyst disease is one of the most common parasitic zoonotic diseases in Iran and the most common involved sites, are lungs and liver. The best treatment of this disease is surgery. The aim of this study was to evaluate the epidemiology and early complications of surgery of hydatid cyst of lung and liver in patients referred to Afzalipour Hospital afiliated to Kerman University of Medical Sciences during 2003-2013.
Method: In this cross-sectional study, 85 patients with lung or liver hydatid cyst who were referred to Afzalipour hospital during 2003-2013 were evaluated retrospectively. Data related to epidemiologic variables and surgery complications were obtained from patient’s documents.
Results: From 85 patients with hydatid cyst of lung and liver, 48.23% were male and 51.76% were female. Among patients, 69.4 % had lung hydatid cyst, 24.7% had liver hydatid cyst and 5.8% had both simultaneously. Cough, dyspnea and fever were dominant symptoms and almost all the surgeries were done through cystectomy with open drainage or cystectomy with capitonage. In whole, 12 cases (14%) had been complicated. There was no significant relation between the method of surgery and complications.
Conclusion: in the present study, the results of epidemiologic variables such as age, sex, prevalence of pulmonary and hepatic involvement and clinical manifestations were similar to the studies that were done in other cities of Iran and also previous studies in Kerman. From 85 surgeries, 12 cases were complicated and there was no significant relation between the method of surgery and complications. Method of surgery, result and complications were similar to other parts of the world and surgery is recommended to prevent hydatid cyst complications such as abscess, opening to the pleural cavity and anaphylactic shock.- انتشار مقاله: 05-07-1394

- چکیده انگلیسی: In the residential area of the North Coast of the Persian Gulf, consumption of fish is a possible source of exposure to heavy metals and other pollutants, all of which may act as potential risk factors for serious syndromes and fatal diseases. Health risks associated with Pb, Cd, and Hg were assessed based on the target hazard quotients (THQ), which can be derived from concentrations of heavy metals in fish consumed in Bandar Abbas and Bandar Lengeh, Iran. In the present study, 4 fish species (Euryglossa orientalis, Psettodes erumei, Epinephelus coioides and Lethrinus nebulosus) were randomly collected in commercial catches at local fishing ports from September 2011 to April 2012. Dorsal muscle was dissected as target sample after digestion. All samples were analyzed for their Cd and Pb contents using an inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) and for their Hg content using an advanced mercury analyzer. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) region III risk-based concentration table was used to estimate THQ values for both adults and children. THQ values over 1 were not observed through the consumption of fish. Total THQ values of Pb, Cd, and Hg for adults were 0.19 and 0.16 in Bandar Abbas and Bandar Lengeh, respectively. For children, they were 0.26 and 0.20 in Bandar Abbas and Bandar Lengeh, respectively, showing that the health risk associated with exposure to these 3 heavy metals was insignificant. However, according to the data concerning levels of environmental pollutants in the most consumed fish and seafood species, more specific recommendations are needed regarding human consumption (kind of species, and frequency and size of meals.

- چکیده انگلیسی: In the present study, sludge from a steel wastewater treatment plant (SWWTP) was analyzed regarding its physicochemical characteristics and metal contents, and disposal options. For these purposes, grab sampling was used to collect 18 slurry and 18 cake sludge samples in 6 mouth (May-October 2012). Mann-Whitney U test, one sample T-test and Wilcoxon signed rank test were applied to analyze the obtained data. Canadian Soil Quality Guidelines (CSQG) and Florida Department of Environmental Protection Soil Cleanup Target Levels (FDEPSCTLs) were used to discuss the disposal fate of the generated sludge. The results showed that the order of the studied metals in the sludge was as: Fe>Al>Ca>Mg>Zn>Na>Pb>Mn>Cu>Cr>Ni>Co>Cd. It was found that due to higher concentration of Cu, Pb, Zn and Fe in the generated sludge, compared with CSQG and FDEPSCTLs, it is not suitable for residential and non-residential applications.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Failures in the water distribution network are some most important factors in water losses, water shortage and dissatisfaction of users and secondary pollutions as well. This research aimed to analyze failure in water distribution networks during 2006-2008, for better water management. Daily failure reports in Ahvaz, Iran distribution network during 2006-2008, were collected from emergency department of Ahvaz water and Wastewater Company; thereafter, they were entered into an Excel database, also failures were defined by pipes type, pipe diameter, and cause of the failure, and finally the data were analyzed. Results indicated that asbestos and polyethylene pipes show maximum failures; maximum failure and fracture has occurred in pipes with 100 and 150 mm diameters. The most important factors affecting on failure were corrosion, traffic load and landslide. In addition, simultaneous influence of type and the diameter of the pipe on the failures were statistically significant. The depth of pipes establishment, corrosion and obsolescence of pipes as well as improper type of pipes were the most important causes of failures in Ahvaz Water Distribution Network. In this regard, upgrading pipe material setting standards and renewing water pipe network are the main strategies for failures minimization.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background and Objective: To evaluate extended spectrum betalactamase (ESBL) positive strains of Klebsiella pneumonia and Escherichia coli in positive bacterial cultures. Materials and Methods: In this analytical cross-sectional study, between March 2006 and March 2007, 170 bacterial isolates including 133 cases of E. coli and 37cases of K. pneumonia were examined. All cases underwent double disk diffusion for ESBL. Demographic data were assessed and all data analyzed accordingly. Results: Patients’ mean age was 55±26.63 yr. Ninety six cases (56.5%) were female and 74 cases (43.5%) were male. Clinical presentation of infection were 118 cases UTI (96.4%), 15 cases septicemia (8.8%), 16cases wound infection (9.4%), 7 cases pneumonia (4.1%), 1 case meningitis (0.6%) and 13 cases other presentations (7.6%). Frequency of ESBL positive in E. coli isolates was 38 cases (28.6%) and in K. pneumonia isolates was 10 cases (27%). There was no significant correlation between ESBL positivity and age, gender, ward or clinical presentation of infection. Conclusion: Incidence of ESBL positive isolates of E. coli and K. pneumonia was high. These results should be considered in administration of broad-spectrum antibiotics by clinicians.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Multicomponent condensation of 1-naphthol, malononitrile, and arylglyoxals in the presence of Mg-Al hydrotalcite under solvent-free MicroWave (MW) conditions gave a new series of 2-amino-4-aroyl-4H-benzo[h]chromene-3-carbonitriles in high yields (70-89%). The structure of all products was elucidated by their FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR spectral data and microanalysis.
