- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: This study aimed to investigate the intrinsic and extrinsic factors affecting faculty engagement in virtual learning environments at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (SUMS) in Shiraz, Iran. Methods: In this comparative study, 112 eligible faculty members at SUMS were enrolled in 2018-2019 academic year. The sample was surveyed by a researcher-made questionnaire consisting of 28 items, including 17 questions on intrinsic factors (familiarity with e-learning, faculty attitudes and human resources) and 11 on extrinsic factors (financial resources, inherent barriers, infrastructural factors and institutional support). The reliability of the research instrument, as measured by internal consistency and Cronbach’s alpha, stood at 0.92. It was measured at 0.87 and 0.92 for extrinsic and intrinsic factors respectively. The CVR and CVI values were found to be 0.6 and 0.8 respectively. One-sample t-test was applied to compare the mean scores of the intrinsic and extrinsic factors with the hypothetical mean, and to determine the ranking of the factors. Results: In order of their impact, the intrinsic and extrinsic factors included inadequate financial resources (P=0.566) lack of familiarity with electronic learning (p <0.001), inherent barriers such as institutional disbelief in the complementary role of e-learning (P=0.001), infrastructural factors (p <0.001), faculty attitudes (p <0.001), inadequate human resources (p <0.001), and lack of institutional support (p <0.001). Conclusion: University administrators should provide educators with adequate resources for handling new educational environments, remove administrative and structural obstacles, and create motivation among faculty members to use e-learning systems.

- چکیده انگلیسی: I am writing to thank you for publishing the interesting article titled: “The effect of Social Networks and Short Messages through e-Content on Reducing Negative Thoughts in Women”(1). In this article the authors have first developed an e-content and then accomplished the intervention. In this regard I should mention that nowadays, using e-contents in different kinds of education including mobile-based or webbased, synchronous or asynchronous are the necessities in educational settings. It is a pleasure that Iranian universities are taking steps toward the use of technology in their educational research, but these steps should be wisely in line with standards and qualifications. One of the most important components of e-learning discipline is e-content because, on the one hand, without content no education is imagined (2), and on the other hand, inappropriate content can disturb audience learning (3).

- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: Following the growing development of information technology, the traditional methods of teaching cannot meet the teaching demands of today’s societies. The Purpose of this study was to compare the effects of the modern and traditional teaching methods on knowledge and attitude of the dental students. Materials and Methods: This study is a semi experimental one carried out in the academic year, 2012. The participants consisting of two groups of dental students were selected through random sampling. One group was taught through the traditional method and the second group through the multimedia method. Then a written test was given to the two groups about the lesson contents, and the satisfaction level of the groups was determined, using the 0-10 scale. After two months, a test was performed in order to investigate the rate of remembrance. The Manweitny statistic test was used in order to analyze the data. Results: The level of knowledge for the group taught through multimedia method was more significant than that for the group undergoing the traditional method. However, the mean of satisfaction grade and remembrance were found not be significantly different. Conclusion: Regarding the effectiveness of the multimedia method, the use of this method can provide a good opportunity for students to learn better.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: The aim of this research was to determine the effects of cognitive and metacognitive strategies training to strengthen their, self-directed learning readiness and self efficacy.Materials and Methods: In this quasi-experimental design with pretest - posttest control group was used. In this study, 50 midwifery students were selected, and randomly and equally divided into two groups The experimental group was attended in 8 sessions of cognitive and metacognitive strategies training and were evaluated by guglielmino self-directed learning questioner, schwarzer self efficacy questioner and Combined Inventory weienestein, palmer & pintrich. SPSS software was used for analyzing data's. The statistical analyses were ANCOVA.Results: Results of this research show that training of cognitive and metacognitive strategies Uses strategies strengthens, improved of self –directed learning and self efficacy.Conclusion: According to research findings indicate that learning strategies can be taught and learned and learning strategies can be effected on self-directed learning readiness and self efficacy therefore, teachers must trying for training these strategies to students and notice Students how to learn and improve skills.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Self-Efficacy is an individual's judgment about his/her abilities and assurance about having personal capabilities. People, who are highly efficient, perceive higher goals for themselves, have more desirable behavior, and are more successful in different fields such as education, etc. Moreover, with recent advances in information technology in the 21st century, accessibility to quality learning for all individuals has become inevitable and it is necessary to use more modern educational approaches.Materials and Methods: In this descriptive-analytic study, data was collected using Schwartz's general self-efficacy questionnaire. The statistical population of our study consisted of all students in the field of educational sciences who were in their final semester at Shahid Bahonar University (attending university, n=29) and all students in the field of educational sciences who were in their final semester at Payam-e-Noor University (non-attending university, n=29), Kerman, Iran. The statistical sample was equal to the statistical population. Data were analyzed using SPSS software, version 12. Frequency, percentage, mean, t test, and Pearson's correlation coefficient were used as appropriated.Results: There was no significant difference in the general self-efficacy of the attending and non-attending students (P=0.174). The mean diploma grades of the attending students were higher than the non-attending students (P < 0.001). The mean BA scores of the attending students were higher than that of the non-attending students (P < 0.001). There was a correlation between the mean BA scores and general self-efficacy of the students attending university (P=0.009, r = 0.546). There was no correlation between the mean BA scores and general self-efficacy of the non-attending students (P=0.933, r = 0.019).Conclusion: Although there was no significant relationship between the self-efficacy scores of attending and non-attending students, open and distant education can be helpful because of other advantages such as compensating the lack of educational spaces, reducing costs, creating equal opportunities, and alignment with global developments.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: To live successfully in a democratic society, people should be able to think critically in order to make correct personal and social decisions when encountering problems. If students learn to think critically they will find a guide to live more lively. The first priority in educational centers is to train students to think critically. Materials and Methods: The aim of this descriptive and analytic study is to evaluate critical thinking in freshmen and senior students of Payam-e-Nour University. 60 Students were selected by the purposeful sampling method and to measure their critical thinking, the CCTST form-B questionnaire was used. Data were analyzed using t and variance tests. Results: There was no significant difference between the total critical thinking scores in freshman and senior students, but the difference was significant regarding evaluation scores between the two groups (P value=0.017). Conclusion: since critical thinking is highly valued, appropriate educational methods should be implemented in higher education programs.

- چکیده انگلیسی: There are some issues examined and discussed in the area of comparative education, most important of which include relevant matters to features of an educational system, economy of general education, education and society, the relationship between religion and education, and also questions concerning the government and policy in relation to education. Japan education system is a centralized one that encompasses preschool up to higher education. Therefore, regarding the above mentioned subjects, the present articlehas reviewed first the history of evolution in Japan education to provide an understanding of such system, then the administrative structure of Japan for realizing the position of higher education and ICT based learning, and next a short history of ICT based education in Japan and its types in this system. Finally, a current situation of correspondence education and E-learning are compared regarding statistics in 2006.
