- چکیده انگلیسی: Iodine as a trace micronutrient has important role in body physiology and its sufficient intake is essential for synthesize and secrete adequate amounts of thyroid gland hormones which influenced all periods of human life including fetal, childhood and adolescence. The aim of this study was to evaluate iodine concentration in marketed edible salt samples in Lorestan Province, comparing with existing standards and offering solutions necessary to fix the probably problems. Two hundred and forty samples of 20 brands of marketed edible salt were purchased randomly of eight cities in Lorestan Province during April 2014 to March 2015. Iodine concentration was measured by titration method. Results showed that iodine concentration in 64.59% of salt samples was in acceptable limits according national standard of Iran during this study. A significant number of nonstandard samples showed violation of salt factories of regulations and their noncompliance to mandatory standards. Due to importance of iodine in human health and valuable role in the vital functions of the body at different periods of human life and to avoid violations of iodized salts manufacturers, regular control of marketed salts and enforcement of laws and regulations are recommended.aflatoxin production in treated nuts.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Heavy metals entrance to fish body tissues and transferring to human body systems after their consuming makes numerous undesirable effects and health problems. The aim of this study was to determine some heavy metals (lead, cadmium and mercury) in fresh fishes marketed in Khorramabad City, west of Iran. In this descriptive study, five samples of 17 fish species with high consumption were purchased randomly in 2014. Measurement of mercury, lead and cadmium was performed using atomic absorption spectrometry. All measurements were performed three times for each sample. Lead mean levels in fish samples was in the range 0.736 -1.005 ppm, cadmium range was from 0.196 to 0.015 ppm and mean content of mercury was 0.431 - 0.107 ppm. At present mean concentration of lead, mercury and cadmium in supplied fishes muscle is lower than maximum recommended levels according to WHO, EC and FDA guidelines. Based on the obtained results of this study and the importance of heavy metals in foods and their impacts on human health, continuous monitoring of heavy metals levels in foods is necessary.

- چکیده انگلیسی: The growth and survival of the polychaete Nereis diversicolor fed on waste water Huso huso were studied under different densities for creating the equivalence for rearing of N. diversicolor and fish stocking rate in the integrated farming system. This study was conducted to test the effect of feeding the polychaete worm Nereis diversicolor with wastewater derived different densities Huso huso. The worms with an initial mean weight of 0.05 g were fed for 55 days with wastewater of varied densities 2-3, 3-4 and 4-5 kg m-2 fish with 0.2-0.3 kg m-2 worm. Nereis fed with fish feed was as a control. The results of the present study showed that the worms were able to grow using the fish waste water. The resulting biomass and average weight of harvested worms was significantly higher in the density 3-4 kg m-2 fish treatment than in the other two treatments (p<0.05) which was lower than control. The worms from the trial NFF (Nereis fed with fish feed) showed a higher survival rate and biomass production than those from the trials in which they were fed with waste water of different densities. The findings suggest that a suspension of H. huso waste water can be used in the rearing of juvenile N. diversicolor in an integrated farming system. Certain fatty acids were abundant in worms from treatments, specifically 14:0, 16:0, C18:1n9c, 20:1, 22:1n-9, 18:3n-3, 20:2, 20:5n-3 (EPA) and 22:6n-3 (DHA), were equal between Nereis fed with waste water of different densities but significantly lower than in Nereis fed with fish feed. The results demonstrate that production of N. diversicolor using fish wastes is highly efficient. The process would consequently offer a sustainable solution to the existing problem of organic pollution. The use of worm biomass as a waste treatment method and an alternative source of FA and protein for Huso huso production systems could achieve multiple aims, including the retention of valuable lipids from the Huso huso wastes.

Semen was collected from six bester specimens and their seminal plasma was evaluated. The seminal plasma contained 54.5±2.8 mM sodium, 22.33±2.5 mM chloride, 7.1±1.2 mM potassium, 3.55±0.6 mM calcium and 0.58±0.09 mM magnesium. The result shows that Na+, Cl- and K+ (54.5±2.8, 22.33±2.5 and 7.1±1.2 mM, respectively) were predominant ions in bester seminal plasma like other sturgeons. However the concentrations of K+, Ca2+ and Cl- in bester seminal plasma were higher than those reported in beluga and sterlet as parental species. The mean pH and osmolality of seminal plasma were 8.09±0.34 and 127.6±20.8 mOsm kg-1, respectively. A significant negative regression was observed between osmolality and percentage motility (r=- 0.893).

- چکیده انگلیسی: The experiment was carried out in one year on blood sexual hormones in 74 four-years old beluga sturgeon Huso huso held in 8 round cement tanks in brackish water with salinity of about 13.5 ppt. Fishes were biopsied at the beginning of the experiment in order to determine the sexuality and gonadic stage. Blood sampling was performed in caudal veins three times during experiment in fall, winter and spring seasons.Testosterone (T), Esteradiol (E2) and Progesterone (P) were measured by Radio Immune Assay (RIA) method. Test of profile was done in duplicate. Statistical results showed a significant elevation (p < /em> > 0.05) on measured factors in both sexes, especially in males.In males, testosterone (T) depends on gonadic stage had significant elevation; but in females, there was no significant increase (p < /em> > 0.05) in estradiol (E2) and progesterone (P) which probably resulted from their ages. In males, T level in stages II, II-III, III, IV, were 5.5, 4.4, 6.3, 2.6 ng/ml, respectively.The result indicated that the amount of T increased by development of gonads until III stage, then suddenly decreased in stage IV. Quantities of P and E2 were measured only in females.Amounts of P and E2 in stages of II, II-III, were 0.12, 0.13 and 1.455, 0.81 ng/ml, respectively, suggesting the increase of P and decrease of E2 were associated with gonad progress. According to the results, it was demonstrated that sexual hormones were affected by season, environmental conditions and gonadal stages.Therefore, inland underground brackish water as a new medium culture was effective in reduction maturity time in beluga.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background and aims: Kombucha is an ancient food and healing source with Asian origin. Kombucha consists of a wide range of acids, including vitamin C, organic materials, enzymes, and B-group vitamins, which has provided it with immense value. This study was aimed to investigate the effects of Kombucha tea consumption on hepatic UDPGT enzyme in mice. Methods: In this experimental study, 21 small male albino mice and CD-1 genus were used. Albino mice species were purchased from serum Institute in Karaj Hisarak. Mice with a weight between 18 to 25 g were selected. Animals were kept in triplex group in polycarbonate cages. Animal rooms were equipped with air-conditioner. Ambient temperature was retained at about 22°C, and humidity 50%. A light cycle was set at 12 hours brightness and 12 hours darkness. The intensive diet was used that produced by animal Pars feeds for mice feeding. Finally, UDPGA enzyme was measured. Results: Consumption of kombucha tea for seven days of experiment caused a significant increase in enzyme activity in mice liver UDPGT compared to the negative control group, from the first day until the seventh day of experiment. Conclusion: Kombucha tea induced the UDPGT enzyme; thus, it accelerated the detoxification of the body and should be cautioned about simultaneous administration of this beverage with some drugs (such as steroids, acetaminophen, cardio– vascular medicine, etc.) that they metabolize through conjugation. Medical community in this case must be justified and their opinion must be considered when people are using this tea. Finally, kombucha tea consumption did not increase the liver weight. So, UDPGT induction was not the reason of liver weight increase.
