- چکیده انگلیسی: Influenza is a highly contagious zoonotic disease in the world. Avian H9N2 influenza virus is a significant pandemic pathogen widely distributed throughout the world. Pet ownership has been documented as a risk factor for infection transmission to human. Considering major public health concern, the prevalence of antibodies against avian H9N2 influenza virus was evaluated in 170 serum samples of dogs by hemagglutination inhibition assay. This study is the first survey to assess the epidemiology of avian H9N2 influenza virus infection in dogs in Kerman, southeast of Iran. Out of 170 samples, 65 (38.23%) were positive for H9N2. Antibodies were higher in farm dogs that were kept with other animals and also in dogs were fed a raw diet. These findings emphasize the importance of close attention to these populations for control and prevention programs. It is important to reduce infection burden, especially in regions with widespread distribution of H9N2.

- چکیده: زمینه مطالعه: سلول درمانی با استفاده از سلولهای بنیادی در طب دامهای کوچک، در مراحل اولیه خود قرار دارد و تعداد اندکی تحقیقات در شرایط آزمایشگاهی و یا در بدن موجود زنده در رابطه با سلولهای بنیادی مزانشیمی سگ انجام گرفته است. از طرفی دیگر، ردیابی سلولها، اولین قدم در درمانهای مبتنی بر سلول میباشد. این کار به منظور تشخیص سرنوشت سلولهای پیوند داده شده در بدن موجود زنده ضروری اسـت. هـدف: هـدف از ایـن مـطـالعه، جداسازی، تمایز و نشاندارسازی سلولهای بنیادی مزانشیمی مغز استخوان سگ بود. روش کار: سلـولهـای بنیـادی مـزانشیمی از مغز استخوان سگ جداسازی و بر مبنای ریخت شناسی، قابلیت تمایز و بیان فاکتورهای سطحی متمایز گردیدند. برای اولین بار، ما توانستیم سلولهای بنیادی مزانشیمی مغز استخوان سگ را به کمک وکتور لنتی ویروسی کد کننده» پروتئین سبز فلورسانت به منظور ردیابی این سلولها در بدن، نشاندار کنیم. نتایج: در مطالعه» حاضر سلولهای مزانشیمی مغز استخوان سگ به طور موفقیت آمیزی جداسازی گردیده و تکثیر یافتند. بر اساس ریخت شناسی، این سلولها با دیگر سلولهای مزانشیمی جدا شده از سایر بافتها و دیگر گونهها مشابهت داشتند و دارای قابلیت تمایز به استئوسیت و آدیپوسیت بودند. سلولهای بنیادی مزانشیمی مغز استخوان سگ، مارکر سطحی 44CD را بیان کردند، اما نتوانستند مارکر 34CD را بیان نمایند. به دنبال نشاندار سازی، تقریباً 70% سلولها با پروتئین سبز فلورسانت نشاندار شـدنـد. نتیجـه گیرینهایی:بنابراین روش نشاندار سازی با پروتئین سبز فلورسانت تکنیکی آسان و مؤثر جهت ردیابی سلولهای بنیادی مزانشیمی مغز استخوان سگ به دنبال پیوند میباشد. همچنین نتایج این مطالعه اطلاعات پایه در رابطه با سلولهای بنیادی مزانشیمی مغز استخوان سگ را به منظور استفاده از این سلولها در دامپزشکی ارائه میدهد.
- چکیده انگلیسی: BACKGROUND: Stem cell therapy in small animal medicine
is still in its infancy and few in vitro and in vivo research projects
regarding animal Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) have been
carried out. On the other hand, Cell tracking is the first step of the
cell-based therapies and is essential to recognize cell fate post
transplantation. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to
isolate, characterize, and transduce cBM-MSCs. METHODS:
Canine Bone Marrow-derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells (cBMMSCs)
were isolated from bone marrow of dogs and
characterized based on morphology, differentiation capacities,
and surface marker expressions. For the first time, we labeled
cBM-MSCs by GFP-encoding lentiviral vector to track them.
RESULTS: cBM-MSCs were successfully isolated and proliferated.
Morphologically, these cells were similar to other
MSCs from other sources and species and were able to
differentiate into osteocytes and adipocytes. cBM-MSCs
expressed surface marker CD44 but were not able to express
CD34. Approximately, 70% of cells efficaciously expressed
GFPafter labeling; CONCLUSIONS:We found that GFP labeling
is an easy and effective technique to track transplanted cBMMSCs.
Our results also provide fundamental information about

- چکیده انگلیسی: Objective- In this study, the general anatomical features of the digestive tube and the transit time of the digestive tube of the Zarudni’s spur-thighed tortoises were examined by contrast radiology.
Design - Experimental study.
Animals - 4 adult female Zarudni’s spur-thighed tortoises (Testudo graeca zarudnyi).
Procedures- At a temperature of 25-27°c a set of dorsoventral radiograph was taken to locate the Gastrografin position.
Results- The normal gastric, small intestine and large intestine anatomy were obtained and the mean gastric, small intestine and large intestine transit times were 0.2 hr, 2.1 hr, and 27 hr, respectively. Our results showed some differences in the gastrointestinal transit time with that of other species.
Conclusion and Clinical Relevance- The noninvasive diagnostic imaging techniques provide detailed information concerning gastrointestinal tract. Since there have not been any anatomical and radiological studies on this species in Iran, results of this study can use as a reference in this species.- انتشار مقاله: 17-11-1396

- چکیده انگلیسی: Case Description- Hypospadias and testicular agenesis were described in this clinical report in two German shepherd puppies presented with a history of lethargy, anorexia, dysuria, urinary incontinence, severe urine scald dermatitis and pyoderma in the abdominal area.
Clinical Findings- Clinical examinations revealed incomplete development of the external genitalia including penile and preputial hypoplasia with lack of preputial sheath at the penis tip. Moreover, both testes were not found on clinical examination and ultrasonography of one case while another dog had unilateral testicular agenesis.
Treatment and Outcome- One of the puppies died before any other diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Resection of penile and preputial remnants combined with prescrotal urethrostomy was done on the other puppy.
Clinical Relevance- One of the considerable issues in dog breeding is abnormalities of the external genitalia. Hypospadias and testicular agenesis are rare reproductive disorders which have probably congenital origin. The importance of elimination of affected dogs from reproductive programs should be emphasized by veterinary practitioners.- انتشار مقاله: 24-06-1394

- چکیده انگلیسی: Case Description- A 3-month-old female intact Boxer dog was presented to the Veterinary Hospital of Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman with a complaint epiphora, photophobia and corneal opacity of both eyes.
Clinical Findings- Ophthalmic examination revealed mild blepharospasm and mucoid discharge of both eyes, with severe bilateral chemosis and conjunctival hyperemia. Severe corneal edema and a white haze to the corneal stroma in the affected area were also observed.
Treatment and Outcome- The dog was admitted to the hospital for 14 days for intensive topical treatment including atropine eye drop, acetylcysteine eye drop, tetracycline eye ointment, ciprofloxacin eye drop, diclofenac eye drop and topical autologous therapy, Three weeks after the injury, the epitheliums were covering entire of the corneal surface and the corneas were fluorescein negative.
Clinical Relevance- Chemical injuries of the eye rarely occur in the animals based on the scarcity of publications on the subject in the veterinary literature. In the present case, chemical eye burns due to accidental exposure to the povidone-iodine occurred during an elective surgery.- انتشار مقاله: 18-11-1393
