- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: Web-based teaching method is known as a new and active teaching method which enhances achievement motivation and academic achievement. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of web-based, cooperative learning and traditional teaching methods in achievement motivation and academic achievement in the biology course. Materials and Methods: In this quasi-experimental study with a pre-test and post-test design, 60 male students having a biology course were selected through the multi-step cluster sampling method and randomly assigned to three groups. One experimental group was educated through the web-based method and the other through cooperative learning method for 15 sessions. The control group, however, was educated through traditional methods. All groups completed the achievement motivation questionnaire (Hermans, 1970) and a teacher-made test as the pre-test and post-test. The data were analyzed, using the SPSS software, version 19, the multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA).Results: The findings showed that unlike the traditional method, the web-based method led to more increase in both achievement motivation and academic achievement. The cooperative learning method also increased academic achievement more than the traditional method. However, regarding achievement motivation, there was no significant difference between these two approaches. Regarding academic achievement, there was no significant difference between web-based and cooperative methods (p < 0/05). Conclusion: Both web-based and cooperative learning methods enhanced the students’ academic achievement more than the traditional method. But only the web-based method enhanced the students’ achievement motivation.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: studies have indicated that emotional intelligenceis positively related to self-efficacy and can predict the academicachievement. The present study aimed to investigate the role ofemotional intelligence in identifying self-efficacy among thestudents of Public Health School with different levels of academicachievement.Methods: This correlational study was conducted on all thestudents of Public Health School. 129 students were includedin the study through census method. Data were collected usingEmotional Intelligence and self-efficacy questionnaires andanalyzed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis bySPSS 14.Results: The average score of students with high academicachievement was higher in self-efficacy (39.78±5.82) and emotionalintelligence (117.07±10.33) variables and their components thanthat of students with low academic achievement (39.17±5.91,112.07±13.23). The overall emotional intelligence score to predictself-efficacy explanation was different among students withdifferent levels of academic achievement (p<0.001). Self-efficacystructure was explained through self-awareness and self-motivationcomponents in students with low academic achievement (r=0.571).In students with high academic achievement, self-awareness, selfmotivationand social consciousness played an effective role inexplaining self-efficacy (r=0.677, p<0.001).Conclusion: Emotional intelligence and self-efficacy playan important role in achieving academic success andemotional intelligence can explain self-efficacy. Therefore, it isrecommended to teach emotional intelligence skills to studentswith low academic achievement through training workshops.Keywords: Emotional intelligences; Self efficacy; Achievement

- چکیده: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of group hope therapy on depression, hopelessness and hope of female students in Isfahan University. 26 female students who had referred to the counseling center of Isfahan University and had been diagnosed with depression were invited to participate in this study. Participants were assigned to the control and experimental groups, randomly. Hope, depression and hopelessness were measured by Snyder’s Hope Scale, Beck’s depression Inventory and, Beck’s hopelessness scale. It was hypothesized that hope therapy can decrease depression and hopelessness and increase hope and its components in the experimental group. The results of analysis of covariance showed that, after 8 session of group hope therapy, depression was significantly lower (p) and hope was significantly higher (p) in the experimental group than the control group. The follow-up data showed that these effects have remained for one month (p). The results also showed that hope therapy didn’t reduce hopelessness, and its effects on agency thinking did not continue for one month. It was concluded that as a useful method of intervention, hope therapy can be applied to clients with depression.
