- چکیده انگلیسی: Creep phenomenon in rock engineering plays a key role in development of underground spaces as they must be stable enough for a long period of time. Current research involved designing and manufacturing of a new creep testing machine. The equipment is capable to perform simultaneous light-duty creep tests on more than one cylindrical rock samples at a very low cost.
To evaluate the equipment’s performance, a series of creep test was performed on salt rock samples and their axial and lateral deformations were measured by dial gauges. Measurements were taken under constant temperature, humidity and sustained loads. The results revealed that the creep rate in lateral direction was far greater than in the axial direction. Another important conclusion was that both axial and lateral creep curves follow the same pattern with an idealized salt rock creep curve. Also, experiments indicated that the steady state creep rate increases with increasing initial stress state. - چکیده انگلیسی: Heterotaxy syndrome or situs ambiguous is a rare congenital disease in which the pattern of anatomical organization of the thoraco-abdominal visceral and vascular structures is not arranged in normal position. Patients with heterotaxy syndrome represent a wide range of anatomical variations including thoraco-abdominal structures. Here we report a rare case of asymptomatic heterotaxy syndrome in an elderly female with multiple accessory spleens, stomach on right side of the abdomen, midline liver, azygos continuation of Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) and intestinal malrotation.

- چکیده انگلیسی: this study was a clinical trial performed using consecutive method of samplind for 3.5 years in the physiotherapy clinic of Rafsanjan university of medocal sciences.the purpose of this research was to evaluate the effect of the ultrasound along with muscle stretch with ultrasound and muscle stretch along in the treatment of the myofascial trigger points(MTPs).one haundred and twenty patients who were afflicted with MTP of trapezius muscle were divided into four groups randomly(30 in each group) of which the 4 th group was a control.treatment was done in 10 sessions.the assessment of pain was done during 1st,5th and 10 th sessions.treatment methods that were impiied included ultra sound,mucle stretch,and a combination of both.the intensity of pain was evaluated at day 1,5,10 and also 10 days after the treatment.the results of this study showed that both methods of ultrasound along with muscle stretch and ultrasound along can be effective in the relief of local pain,redicular pain,removing of muscle tentse band,and improvment in movement,but ultrasound along with muscle stretch is more effctive than ultrasound and muscle stretch along(p<0.0001).in conclusion,it could be recommended that ultrasound together with muscle stretch be used in the treatment of myofascial trigger points(MTPs).

- چکیده انگلیسی: retinoic acid is one of the derivatives of vitamin A.it is used for treatment of dermatitis,but it has different teratogenic effects on developing organs depending on the different stages of embryonic life.neural tube is made of two different parts:primary neural tube originated from embryo germinal layer and and secondary neural tube originated from tail bud.the persent study was designed to compare the effects of different doses of retinoic acid on primary and secondary neural tube development in the stages of 11-12 humburger & hamilton.in order to do this,254 white leghorn eggs were divided to six groups for futher direct studies.four of the groups were injection with either of:0.3,0.5,0.7, and 1 microgram solution of retinoic acid in 2 microliter of dimethyl sulfoxide,the fifth group was injected with only dimethylsulfoxide,and no injection was made to the last group(sham).forty eight hours later embryos were removed and studied both microscopically and macroscopically.the results showed that,retinoic acid with the dose of 0.5 microgram caused the primary neural tube to be left open and produced accessory neural tube with comparison to the control group(p<0.05).this study suggests that one of the teratogenic effects of retinoic acid in chick embryo is abnormality in the nervous system presented as open primary neural tube or producation of accessory neural tube.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background & aim: The developing countries have the contraceptive prevalence rate of 43%. Contraceptive discontinuation accounts for a large number of unintended pregnancies in these countries. The present study aimed to investigate the factors associated with Cyclofem discontinuation.
Methods: This historical cohort study was conducted on 198 females, selected through cluster and Poisson sampling techniques. The first dose of Cyclofem was administered one month prior to the research. The data were collected using a questionnaire filled out through interviewing.
Results: During the study period, only 3.94% of the health centers clients selected Cyclofem as a contraceptive method. The mean duration of Cyclofem use was 7.1±8.01 months. The likelihood of contraceptive continuation declined with increased consumption duration. Menstrual complications caused by this contraceptive method included irregular menstruation (35.4%) and neurological problems (14.6%). Furthermore, there were some personal reasons (8.1%) accounting for the discontinuation of this method. The frequency of Cyclofem use decreased with increased rate of menstrual irregularities (P=0.045) and spotting (P=0.020). Based on the participants’ reports, the most frequent complications were the medical ones. However, there was no significant difference between the females who continued Cyclofem use and those who discontinued (P=0.08). The majority of the participants reported no particular non-medical problems. The results revealed that the participants who used Cyclofem for a longer time stopped using this birth control method less commonly than those used it for a shorter time (P<0.001).
Conclusion: As the findings indicated, the most common reason for the discontinuation of Cyclofem was its associated side effects, especially menstrual irrigularities. Therefore, the healthcare providers should emphasize on the adverse effects of Cyclofem prior to recommending this contraceptive method.- انتشار مقاله: 21-12-1396

- چکیده انگلیسی: Objective: Scorpion is one of the world’s most venomous arthropods and every year many people are bitten by it. In Iran, scorpion sting is a common health issue. The aim of this study was to evaluate the epidemiological and clinical status of patients with scorpion sting in the emergency department of Sina hospital in 2014.
Methods: In this descriptive cross-sectional study, all patients with a history of scorpion sting during 2014 in the emergency department of Sina hospital in Tabriz entered the study. Required information such as sex, age, location and time of the sting, the patient’s symptoms, etc were extracted from the medical records. These findings were analyzed using SPSS version 15.
Results: Based on our results, 47.2% of patients were male. The mean ± SD of their age was 35.63 ± 18.87. Of 176 patients, 83% lived in urban areas, 87% of scorpion sting cases occurred in houses, and 81.3% of stings were done by yellow scorpion. Most of the bites were in upper extremities (47.2%). In evaluation of symptoms and signs of patients, 89.8% had pain, 48.8% had local erythema and redness, 21% had inflation of sting position and 0.6% had pulmonary symptoms.
Conclusion: Scorpion stings are more common in young people as they are more active. Scorpion stings occur more frequently during the night and in the summer. In our study, most of scorpion stings occurred in houses.- انتشار مقاله: 07-11-1394

- چکیده انگلیسی: Forming limit curves are used as a parameter in finite element analysis to control the material's level of formability. In this research, forming limit diagram (FLD) of SS304L sheet was obtained by ABAQUSfinite element software. In practice, the experimental determination of a forming limit curve is a very time-consuming procedure which requires special and expensive equipment. Forming limit diagram (FLD) is derived by the simulation of Erichsen test (out-of-plane stretching test) using hemispherical punch. There are few studies on the prediction of necking time, which is obtained by the application of Pepelnjak algorithm and ductile fracture criterion. In order for the validation, the numerical result of forming limit diagram (FLD) was compared with the experimental and analytical results and a good correlation was observed. Forming limit stress diagram (FLSD) and MSFLD were determined by plotting the principal in-plane stress and FLD corresponding to the onset of necking localization, respectively. Effect of the thickness of the sheet on forming limit curves was investigated and the results showed that increased thickness of the sheet led to raised level of the FLD and MSFLD; but, FLSD did not change considerably.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Existence of cracks in industrial structures is one of the important causes of their failure, especially when they are subjected to important axial compressive forces that might lead to buckling. Therefore, it must be considered in stress analysis and designing and loading of such structures. In this paper, the buckling and post-buckling behaviors of stainless-steel cracked plates under axial compression load were investigated both experimentally and numerically and effects of the geometrical and mechanical parameters, such as crack length, crack angle, crack position, plate imperfection, load band, and plate thickness on the critical buckling load were studied. In the experimental study, mechanical properties and plastic behavior of stainless steel plates were determined for the subsequent numerical study. Numerical modeling was carried out by ABAQUS finite element software. Numerical predictions were compared with the experimental results and the reliability of the numerical solution was proven. Results demonstrated the considerable effects of the mentioned parameters on the critical buckling load of plate.

- چکیده انگلیسی: In this paper, simulation and analysis of thin steel cylindrical shells with elliptical cutouts under oblique loading were studied using finite element method. First, the numerical results were validated by the results of experimental test performed by an INSTRON 8802 servo hydraulic machine. Also, the effect of cutout angle (θ), cutout size, cutout position (L0/L) and cutout aspect ratios (b/a) were investigated, where parameter (a) shows size of the cutout along longitudinal axis of the cylinder, parameter (b) is size of the cutout in circumferential direction of the cylinder on the buckling and post-buckling behavior of cylindrical shells with finite element method. It can be concluded that increasing width of the cutout extremely decreased the buckling load while the cutout height was constant. Moreover, changing position of the cutout from the mid-height of the shell toward the edges increased the buckling load.

- چکیده انگلیسی: In this research, softening and ratcheting behaviors of Ck20 alloy steel cylindrical shells were studied under displacement-control and force-control cyclic axial loading and the behavior of hysteresis curves of specimens was also investigated. Experimental tests were performed by a servo-hydraulic INSTRON 8802 machine. The mechanical properties of specimens were determined according to ASTM E8 standard. Under force-control loading with non-zero mean force, ratcheting behavior occurred on cylindrical shell and plastic strain accumulation continued up to the collapse point of cylindrical shell. The rate of ratcheting strain became higher using the higher force amplitude. Softening behavior was observed under displacement control loading and, due to the occurred buckling in compression zone, this behavior became more extreme. The behavior of hysteresis curves of this alloy was not symmetrical under tensile and compressive loads. Moreover, the influence of loading history was studied on the behavior of hysteresis curves of the specimens under various types of loadings.
