- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Regulatory CD4+T (Treg) cells are effective in maintaining immune tolerance.
Objective: To investigate single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of Transforming Growth Factor β-1 (TGF-β1) and Forkhead Box Protein 3 (FOXP3) genes in Iranian patients with allergic rhinitis (AR).
Methods: Variations at codons 10 and 25 of TGF-β1 and FOXP3 at positions -3279 A>C and -924 A>G were evaluated in AR patients and compared with controls. In a case-control study, 155 AR patients and 163 allergy- free controls were genotyped using polymerase chain reaction sequence-specific primer (PCR-SSP) technique.
Results: The analysis of the frequency of these SNPs showed that the haplotype formed by FOXP3 -3279 A allele occurred significantly more frequently in patients than controls (odds ratio=1.44, 95% CI=1.312-2.66; p=0.001).
Conclusion: Our results suggest that polymorphism in FOXP3 gene is associated with susceptibility to AR.- انتشار مقاله: 16-05-1395

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Asthma and allergic rhinitis are among the most common diseases in the world.
Objective: The aim of this study was to detect, by skin prick test, aeroallergens in allergic patients in Sari, Mazandaran in north of Iran.
Methods: This is a prospective study of skin prick test of aeroallergens in asthma, allergic rhinitis and their combination with clinical diagnosis. Three hundred and seventy five cases aged between 5 to 50 years, were referred to Tooba and Boo-Ali allergic centers of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences between December 2006 and July 2009. The aeroallergens studied included house dust mites (Dermatophagoides farinae, Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus), cockroaches, feather, aspergillus, Alternaria, pigweed, nettle, oak and maple.
Results: Of the studied individuals, 175 cases were males (46.7%) and 200 were females (53.3%), of which 156 (n=41.5%) reacted to allergen extracts. In asthma, allergic rhinitis and their combination, the respective positive percentages were 26.6%, 22.9%, and 32.6% for Dermatophagoides farinae; 26.6%, 25.3%, and 23.3% for Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus; 12.7%, 17.4%, and 11.6% for cockroaches and 16.5%, 4.7%, and 7.0% for the feather. Other allergens were positive up to 5 percent. Total IgE levels were elevated in 56.4%, 53% and 60.5% of asthmatic, allergic rhinitis and the combination group, respectively. Eosinophils count was elevated in 40.5%, 33.2% and 37.2% of the same groups, respectively.
Conclusion: The hypersensitivity to house dust mites is very common in north of Iran which may be attributed to the warm and humid weather of this area.- انتشار مقاله: 16-05-1395

- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: Asthma is a chronic inflammatory airway disease. Genetic and environmental factors have been important role in the induction of asthma. It's estimated that asthma affect 2.7 to 35.4% of child (in average 13.4%) in Iran. The aims of this study to assess the costs of asthma patients admitted in Boali hospital in Sari in the north of Iran.
Patients and Methods: This descriptive study was carried out in asthma patients 1 to 20 years old that admitted in the Boali hospital in Sari from 2008 to2012. Out of 455 folders, 22 folders excluded because incomplete registrations.
Results: Out of 432 patients, 280 patients (64.81%) were male. 349 patients were 1-5 years old (80.78%). Average annual cost in our asthmatic patients was 1219064 Rials(Iran currency) ($ 121.9) per patient, 1183655 ($ 118.3) and 1284789($ 128.5) Rials per male and per female patient respectively.
Conclusions: Our study showed asthma disease has been significantly cost for patient, family- انتشار مقاله: 12-06-1393

- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: Primary immunodeficiency (PID) is a group of more than 400 distinct genetic disorders affecting both children and adults. As signs and symptoms of PID are usually heterogeneous and unspecific, based on the available human resources and laboratory facilities, diagnosis and follow-up of these patients can be challenging. In line with this notion, management and treatment of PID are practiced divergently in different PID centers. In order to reach a distinct national protocol and given the little evidence on appropriate or universal guidelines to improve the current status of management of the disease, the Iranian PID network designed a consensus suitable for regional resources. This review summarizes this PID guideline based on the importance of different clinical complications and the level of medical authority visiting those at the first line. Further, for each complication, appropriate interventions are mentioned to improve the approach.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Fungal agents account for the clinical manifestation of allergic disorders. The aim of the present study was to review the prevalence of hypersensitivity reactions to fungal aeroallergens in patients with allergic disorders, including allergic rhinitis, asthma, urticaria, and eczema, in Iran. The initial literature search resulted in the identification of 50 records, 26 cases of which met the inclusion criteria. Regarding the methods adopted for the detection of fungal allergens, serum-specific IgE and skin prick tests were used in 6 and 20 studies, respectively. Aspergillus fumigatus and Alternaria alternata sensitization was the most common allergic sensitization among the patients with allergic disorders. According to the reviewed studies, despite the humid climate of the north of Iran, fungal sensitization has a prevalence range of 5-70% in this region. In other regions, such as central and southern Iran, which have a dry and warm climate, fungal sensitization reportedly has a prevalence range of 5-65%. The prevalence of fungal sensitizations varies in different allergic disorders due to the factors related to geographic and genetic issues, gender, sample size, test operator, and assessment method.
