- چکیده انگلیسی: An 8-day-old newborn female twin Holstein calves with a history of weakness, anorexia, emaciation and convulsion were presented to Tabriz University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. On admission, the calves were febrile and recumbent. Physical examination revealed many ticks from the external body surface of the animals, right and left prescapular lymphadenopathy, severe opisthotonos, nystagmus, pedaling, blindness, hyperpnea and hypersthenia. Buccal and vaginal mucous were pale and no other physical abnormalities were diagnosed. Fecal flotation, complete blood count, bone marrow aspiration, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analysis, necropsy and histopathological examination were performed. Fecal flotation showed no helminth eggs or coccidial oocysts. On blood smears obtained from the earlap, >70 percent of erythrocytes were infected with piroplasms organisms and schizonts were obvious in smears of lymphocytes lymph node. Blood count revealed a lymphopenia, poikilocytosis, anisocytosis and non-regenerative anemia (packed cell volume; mean, 16%). Histopathological examination revealed Arthus reaction through the walls of cerebral blood vessels, which resulted in local necrosis of the brain. Analysis of CSF showed no abnormality in appearance or biochemical and cell counts. Although the calves were treated with a single intramuscular injection of buparvaquone and oxytetracycline once daily they did not respond to the treatment and died. In conclusion, the present cases showed a rare cerebral form of theileriosis by vertical transmission that confirmed by the presence of piroplasms on blood films and multinuclear schizonts on lymph node aspiration smears, gross and histopathological examinations and unsuccessful treatment in a newborn twin Holstein calves.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Careful antemortem examination and interpretation of findings, assisted by good clinical records, do much to throw light on the nature of vertical fissure in cattle. During an eight month period of investigation, 13 (3.2%) lame cows with vertical fissure out of 52 Holstein cows with different claw fissures were selected for clinical and gross pathological purposes in a commercial dairy farm with 400 milking cows in Nazarabad, Iran. The cows were 2.5 to10.5 years old. The prevalence rate of vertical fissure was 3.2 per cent. The prevalence rate of claw lesion in the hind limb (69.2%) was higher than that of fore limb (30.7%). The type of vertical fissures were 4 (38.4%), 5 (23.0%), 2 (23.0%) and 3 (15.3%), respectively. Locomotion scoring assessment of 13 culled lame cows showed score ranged from grade 3 (30.7%) to 4 (61.5%). The herd had endemic digital dermatitis infection with prevalence in the adult herd of over 34.2%. The affected claws were more boxy than normal and the abaxial wall was convex in all directions. The lame cows had typical stance such as hobbyhorse or cross legged stance. This study shows that more research is needed both on the economic impact of vertical fissures in dairy cows and on the microbiological study of spirochaetes of the genus Treponema. This study recommends that owners of dairy farm should try to control digital dermatitis with preventative herd strategies.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Contagious ecthyma or orf is a poxviral disease of goat and sheep, with incidental infection appearing in humans, cows, camels, and many wild ruminants, and very rarely in dogs.
Case description: In the present paper was described gross morphology and histopathology of contagious ecthyma in a dog with a large ulcerated cutaneous mass in the neck (under the collar) which was managed by local surgery.
Clinical findings: The mass was solitary, soft, well circumscribed and grey to brown color. Cut surfaces of the mass contained discrete, round without any lobulation and liquefied foci in the centers. Histologically, there were vacuolar degeneration of keratinocytes in the stratum spinosum, marked epidermal proliferation associated with deep epidermal pegs and dermal papilla, and accumulation of scale-crust with ortho- and parakeratotic hyperkeratosis. Dermal lesions included superficial edema, marked capillary dilation, and an influx of neutrophils, followed by a marked accumulation of lymphocytes. It is guessed that the dog was fed with infected carcass.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Case description: In the present paper, we describe the gross morphology, histopathology and immunoreactivity of a hemangiopericytoma (HP) as a PWT in a dog with recurrence after surgical excision.
Clinical findings: The mass was 3-4 cm, solitary, soft, unencapsulated, well circumscribed and grey to brown color. Cut surfaces of the mass contained discrete, round and relatively homogeneous tumors without any lobulation and liquefied foci in the centers. Histologically, the tumor was richly vascularized which arranged in staghorn vessels pattern. The neoplastic cells were uniform in appearance with mild to moderate pleomorphism and had spindle-shaped to oval/round nuclei with vesicular to hyperchromatic chromatin and eosinophilic to the amphophilic cytoplasm with variable amounts of the collagenous stroma. In the immunohistochemical evaluation, proliferating stromal and vascular cells in this tumor demonstrated strong immunoreactivity for vimentin and α-smooth muscle actin. Although, these cells were negative for S100, lysozyme, CD31, and CD34.
Treatment and outcome: Regarding to the repeated recurrence of this tumor after surgical excision, amputation of forelimb will probably be performed.
Clinical relevance: The present findings show that hemangiopericytoma in dogs can be a locally aggressive behavior with a repeated recurrence that led to the surgical amputation of limbs or even euthanasia of dogs.- انتشار مقاله: 11-10-1396

- چکیده انگلیسی: Objective- The aim of this study was to investigate the PRP effects on the early time-period during tendon healing in rabbits DDF tendon.
Design-Experimental study
Animals- Twenty male New Zealand white rabbits
Procedure-PRP samples were prepared using twice centrifugation method of modification of the Cuarsan technique. Animals were randomly assigned into two equal treatment and control groups. The injury model was unilateral complete transection through the middle one third of deep digital flexor tendon. Immediately after primary repair, either 0.5 cc PRP or placebo was injected intratendiously into the suture site in the treatment and control groups, respectively. Operated limbs were immobilized for two weeks. Animals were sacrificed at the third week and the tendons underwent histopathological (H&E and MT staining) and biomechanical evaluation.
Results- The histopathological (H&E) observation showed significant increase in percentage of fibrillar linearity, fibrillar contiuity, number of capillaries in epitenon and epitenon thickness in PRP treated group compared to the control group (p<0.05). Results from MT staining revealed more collagen deposition, in treatment group in comparison to the control. Results of mechanical testing revealed the significant improvement of force at failure and energy absorption capacity of repaired in the PRP group in comparison to the control (p<0.05).
Conclusion and clinical relevance-The present study findings suggest that PRP is a simple, safe, quick and cost effective way to obtain a natural concentration of autologous growth factors which reduce the risk of rupture after tendon primary repair and improve functional outcomes.- انتشار مقاله: 29-04-1396

- چکیده انگلیسی: Objective- The aim of this study was to demonstrate the efficacy MSCs transplantation in combination with low level laser irradiation (low level laser irradiation) in repair of experimental acute spinal cord injury.
Design- Experimental study.
Animals- 28 adult male Wistar Rats.
Procedures- A ballon- compression technique was used to produce an injury at the T8-T9 level of spinal cord applying Fogarty embolectomy catheter. In group-1, the autologous MSCs were transplanted to the spinal cord lesion; and followed by treatment with low level laser irradiation during 15 consecutive days in group-2. The injured rats in third group were treated by LLLI alone. The functional recovery was assessed using the Basso-Beattie-Bresnahan (BBB) locomotion scoring along 5 weeks.
Results-In these three treatment groups, the score was significantly higher than control group. The differences among group-2 and two other treatment groups were statistically significant during all five weeks after treatment. There were no significant differences in BBB score between group-1(MSCs) and group-3(LLLI) at 3rd, 4th and 5th weeks of treatment. According to histopathological findings, the best response was observed in group-2(MSCs+LLLI) that repair of injured parts of dorsal funiculi and less cavitation were occurred by proliferation of mesenchymal stem cells and their differentiation to glial cells especially oligodendrocytes resulting in axon regeneration and relatively spinal cord recovery.
Conclusion and Clinical Relevance- The findings of present study, demonstrate that concurrent use of LLLI and local transplantation of MSCs exhibits profound effects on axon regeneration and revealed remarkable functional improvement. These results suggest that MSCs characteristics could be influenced by low level laser irradiation, so this treatment may be as a useful procedure for neural regeneration, although further detailed investigations needs to be carried out particularly in clinical cases.- انتشار مقاله: 22-02-1396

- چکیده انگلیسی: Objective— Use of equine autologous keratinocyte on collagen membrane grafts (KCMG) for treatment of wounds in the distal aspect of the horse limb. Design— Experimental study Animals— Four horses. Procedure—Keratinocytes have been separated by enzyme digestion from lib skin sample and proliferated in vitro. Full thickness excision wounds (6.25 cm2) were created on the mid-lateral of both metatars of each horse aseptically. The wounds were classified into two groups, group A and B as control (n=4) and keratinocyte collagen membrane graft (KCMG [n=4]) group respectively. Acid soluble collagen has been extracted from calf skin and polymerized in vitro, then keratinocytes, cultured on collagen membrane for one day. Cell graft was preformed once on the 4-day-old wounds. Photographs were taken twice weekly. Whole wounds excision biopsies were performed on 28-day-old wounds. Results— Geometrically, there were increase in epithelialization, contraction and total wound healing per day in group B, but it was not significant statistically. Histopathologically both groups had epidermal cells in superficial layer, but the amount of this layer, differentiation and maturation of stratum spinosum cells of epiderm in group B was better than group A. These differences were not significant (P-Value>0.05). Conclusion and Clinical Relevance — Perhaps use of keratinocyte collagen membrane graft (KCMG) have positive effects and cause better wound healing in derm and specially epiderm of equine lower limb wounds. For increase of cell treatment effects significantly, it is better to use cell grafts on large wound, also preparation of wound bed and repeated treatments are essential.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Social responsibility provides a framework for ethical monitoring on the business enterprises activities whereby business enterprises must responsible to society and environment. This study based on financial variables and using the data envelopment analysis technique, ranks automotive companies in terms of social responsibility. Data and theoretical frameworks of the research are based on library studies and data analysis is also based on the data envelopment analysis model. Results of this research indicate that big companies in the automotive industry are less socially responsible than other companies. This suggests that big companies in the automotive industry do not have a proper social behavior toward the stakeholders, and pay less attention to social and environmental issues. Given to the outcomes of this study is suggested that regulators and policymakers in automotive industry could develop executive instructions to match social goals with businesses performance and coordinate the firm activities and responsibilities with society policies.
