- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: In this problem, we present a theoretical study for the slip effects on the two-dimensional flow of a nano liquid in a semi-porous channel designed by two long rectangular plates having porous media. One of the channel walls is porous and other is rigid as well as slippery. A magnetic field of homogenous strength is also applied transversely to direction of flow. Magnetic nanoparticles and non-magnetic nanoparticles are considered with ethylene glycol and water as base fluids. Least Square method and Galerkin method are adopted to solve the equations transformed from partial differential equations to ordinary ones by Berman’s similarity transformations. The obtained results from the two analytical methods are compared with the results obtained by fourth order Runge-Kutta numerical method(NM). By comparing the results of GM and LSM it is observed that variation in velocity profiles is minimal however the accuracy of GM is higher than LSM. The contributions of various flow parameters on flow field are presented through graphs. Results show a decrease in the fluid velocity with an increase in the slip parameter and porosity parameter. Flow field is less for the case of magnetic nanoparticles as compared to nonmagnetic particles for different base fluids.

- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: One of the most common tools for fabricating different drug-loaded polymeric particles is magnetic stirrer, a widely-used tool in nano-based drug delivery systems. Typically, the revolutions per minute (rpm) or G-Force of the stirrer are reported in related literature, while other parameters generate less attention and must be better understood. Reporting the rpm or G-Force is likely insufficient for producing the same vortex flow intensity and mono-dispersity as having a reliable and reproducible nanoparticle and microparticle synthesis method. We speculate that the magnetic stirrer bar’s length and diameter, and the size of the cylindrical container, affect the qualities of nanoparticles and microparticles. Given the importance of these particle characteristics in the field of nanomedicine, understanding these details would improve reporting method reliability. These data are currently missing in most related papers and must be reported. The purpose of our study is to highlight the importance of these underestimated parameters (magnetic bar’s length, diameter, and the size of the cylindrical container) and the impact on the reproducibility of particle synthesis methods using a magnetic stirrer.

- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: Objective- The objective was to assess local effect of brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) on functional recovery of peripheral nerve in rat sciatic nerve transection model. Design- Experimental study. Animals- Sixty male healthy white Wistar rats Procedures- The animalswere randomized into four experimental groups of 15 animals each: In sham-operated group (SHAM), sciatic nerve was exposed and manipulated. In transected group (TC), left sciatic nerve was transected and nerve cut ends were fixed in the adjacent muscle. In silicone graft group (SIL) a 10-mm defect was made and bridged using a silicone tube. The graft was filled with phosphated-buffer saline alone. In treatment group the silicone tube (SIL/BDNF) was filled with 10 microliter BDNF (100ng/kg BW). Each group was subdivided into three subgroups of five animals each and regenerated nerve fibers were studied at 4, 8 and 12 weeks post operation. Results- Behavioral testing, sciatic nerve functional study, gastrocnemius muscle mass and morphometric indices showed earlier regeneration of axons in SIL/BDNF than in SIL group (p < 0.05). Immunohistochemical study showed clearly more positive location of reactions to S-100 in SIL/BDNF than in SIL group. Conclusion and Clinical Relevance- When loaded in a silicone graft, BDNF improved functional recovery and morphometric indices of sciatic nerve. This finding supports the role of BDNFafter peripheral nerve repair and may have clinicalimplications for the surgical management of patientsafter nerve transection.

- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: The foramen tympanicum is an anatomical variation that is created in the tympanic plate of temporal bone during the first year of life. The tympanic plate grows and foramen tympanicum is gradually closed by about the fifth postnatal year. However, due to a defect in normal ossification, foramen tympanicum sporadically remains throughout life. The construction of a shopping center in Tabriz, northwest of Iran, led to the discovery of an Iron Age cemetery (1500-500 BC). Several tombs have been uncovered below one meter of sterile soil so far and a thick level of architectural debris from the medieval city has been discovered. Up to now, no bioarchaeological data has been gathered about the burials in this area. Thus, the present study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of foramen tympanicum in this area. In this study, 45 skeletons were studied and the prevalence of this foramen was about 4.4% bilaterally. We also reported on two babies with fused and un-fused squamotympanic fissure. The persistence of this foramen is a possible risk factor for otologic complications after arthroscopy of the temporomandibular joint and salivary gland fistula through this foramen. The closure of this foramen could be also used for age estimation in sub-adult individuals. The incidence of this trait in this study was similar to other available studies on modern skeletons.

- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Secretory proteins of IgE receptor activated mast cells and basophils play a pivotal role in the generation of immediate and long term immune responses in allergy and type I hypersensitivity.
Objective: The present study aims to generate a 2-D map and profile of proteins secreted from a high secretory variant of the rat basophilic leukemia cell line, RBL-2H3.1, which in view of the difficulty associated with gaining adequate numbers of pure primary mast cell and basophiles, represents an accepted model system for the study and standardization of the methodology to characterize the secretome of these cell types.
Methods: A 2-D map of secretory proteins was generated by 2-D PAGE and a shotgun mass spectrometric approach carried out for protein identi fication.
Results: Study resulted into identification of 299 proteins released from resting and IgE receptor activated RBL-2H3.1 cells after 90 s, 30 min and 3 h antigen challenge. Further sequence analysis identified ~53% of total proteins as secretory proteins which could be attributed to classical and non-classical secretory pathways. Additionally, functional classification of classic secretory proteins verified the presence of proteins belonged to cytokines, receptors, membrane proteins, lysosomal proteins and proteins associated with specific sub-cellular localizations such as endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria, nucleus, cytoplasm and ribosome. According to this data the presence of some secretory proteins such as cytokines (e.g. MCP-2, PF-4, CSF-1 and TGF-β1) are all subject to Ag challenge which may point to their importance toward pathogenesis in allergic diseases.
Conclusion: In view of both a beneficial and adverse role of mast cell mediators in health and disease, an identification of temporal changes in the secretory pattern may form the basis for future tailor made intervention strategies that may enable us to harvest the therapeutic potential inherent in mast cell exocytosis while inhibiting/attenuating negative outcomes.- انتشار مقاله: 15-05-1395

- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: Objective(s): The present day challenge is how to obtain germ cells from stem cells to treat patients with cancer and infertility. Much more efforts have been made to develop a procedure for attaining germ cells in vitro. Recently, human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (HUMSCs) have been introduced with higher efficacy for differentiation. In this work, we tried to explore the efficacy of HUMSCs and some effective products of placental cells such as transforming growth factors. This study is aimed to optimize a co-culture condition for HUMSCs with placental cells to obtain primordial germ cells (PGCs) and reach into oocyte-like cells in vitro.
Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, HUMSCs and placental cells were co-cultured for 14 days without any external inducer in vitro. Then HUMSCs were assessed for expression of PGC markers; Octamer-binding transcription factor 4(OCT4),Tyrosine-protein kinase Kit (CKIT), Stage specific embryonic antigen 4 (SSEA4) , DEAD (Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp) box polypeptide 4( DDX4) and oocyte specific markers; Growth differentiation factor-9( GDF9), Zona pellucida glycoprotein 3(ZP3). The pertinent markers were assessed by immunocytochemistry and Q-PCR.
Results: Co-cultured HUMSCs with placental cells (including amniotic and chorionic cells) presented Oct4 and DDX4, primordial germ cells specific markers significantly, but increment in expression of oocyte-like cell specific markers, GDF9 and ZP3 did not reach to statistically significant threshold.
Conclusion: Placental cell supplementsTransforming growth factor (TGF α, β) and basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) in a co-culture model can provide proper environment for induction of HUMSCs into PGCs and expression of oocyte-like markers.- انتشار مقاله: 06-11-1393

- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: Effects of formulation parameters on the fractional release profile of diclofenac sodium from matrices having the manufacturing formulation ingredients are studied. As a content of cetyl alcohol (rate controlling agent) in the matrix increases, the fractional release decreases. The fractional release increases either by increasing sucrose content outside the granule or by decreasing sucrose content inside the granule. Results presented here indicate that as PVP content outside the granule or aerosol fraction inside or outside the granule in the matrix increases, the fractional release increases. The fractional release profiles of diclofenac sodium from matrices, when each ingredient is inside or outside, or half inside - half outside the granule, are compared.

- چکیده انگلیسی: GBM (Glioblastoma multiforme) is the most prevalent and lethal primary brain tumor. Gene therapy is one of the promising approaches and involves the delivery of genetic therapeutic molecules for specific antitumour response/activity. miRNAs can regulate the cell biology functions including replication, cell growth, and apoptosis by regulating gene expression. In this study, we found that down-regulation of miR-4731 expression occurred in GBM cells. We further determined that miR-4731 behaved as a tumor suppressor by inhibiting GBM cell proliferation. We further investigated the molecular mechanisms of miR-4731 and EGFR, ERK-1,2 and AKT-1,2 in GBM cell lines U87 and U251. The in vitro ectopic expression of miR-4731 affected cell proliferation, migration, and invasion of U87 and U251 cells. Luciferase reporter assays validated that miR-4731 targeted the 3′-untranslated region (3′-UTR) of EGFR. In conclusions, we identified that miR-4731 plays a tumor suppressor role in GBM cell proliferation and migration by targeting EGFR expression, and miR-4731 may act as a novel biomarker for early diagnosis or therapeutic target of GBM.
