- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: Abstract. Seeds or plant organs are usually used as the materials for the long-term cryopreservation. The aim of this study is to investigate the possibility of seed cryopreservation of Lilium ledebourii (Baker) Boiss. as an endemic and endangered species because of genetic erosion. To evaluate seed potentials for the cryopreservation, four treatments including vitrification, 30% glycerol, desiccation and encapsulation-dehydration were applied on seeds before immerging in the liquid nitrogen (-196˚C) for a week. Then, seeds were removed from liquid nitrogen and exposed to heat shock (42˚C water bath), washed with the distilled water and eventually, sown in petri-dishes containing tissue papers. Some criteria including seed germination percent, root and shoot length values, root/shoot length ratio and seed vigor index were recorded and statistically analyzed after four weeks. Data of germination was converted to an arc-sine transformation prior to the analysis of variance. Results showed that germination percentages were 97.50, 97.43, 94.86 and 69.47% for 30%-glycerol, vitrification, desiccation, and encapsulation-dehydration treatments, respectively. They were not significantly different from control seeds (89.33%). On the other hand, other germination attributes of seeds almost showed no significant differences in comparison with control treatment in most treatments. In addition, 30%-glycerol, vitrification and desiccation experienced the highest amounts of germination attributes whereas they showed no significant differences with the control treatment in most qualities. In contrast, the encapsulated seeds showed the lowest amounts in germination indices though they had no significant differences with control treatment (except germination rate). Most of germination attributes of encapsulated seeds were significantly lower than the other cryogenic treatments. Both 30% glycerol and desiccation treatments showed some advantages over vitrification method. However, desiccation was the best treatment because it does not need any chemical substances. It was concluded that the cryopreservation technique is an important approach for the long-term preservation of the seeds of this endangered species.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Objective: IDH mutations diversely affect the prognosis of cyogenetically normal acute myeloid leukemia (CN-AML) adult patients. The aim of this study is to assess the frequency of IDH mutations and to evaluate its role in AML prognosis. Methods: We have analyzed IDH1 and 2 mutations using High Resolution Melting curve analysis (HRM) in 70 denovo AML patients. Results: The median age of AML patients is 40 years (16-75). Incidence of IDH mutations is 10/70 (14.3%); 2 (2.9%) IDH1 mutant and 8 (11.4%) IDH2 mutant. Median PB blasts of mutant IDH patients was 67.5% (25-96) vs. 44% (0-98) for wild type (p=0.065). Eight/10 (80%) mutant IDH patients had B.M blasts ≥50% vs. 2/10 (20%) <50% (p<0.001) and were classified as intermediate risk cytogenetics (p=0.020) with wild FLT3-ITD (p=0.001). Ten/10 (100%) mutant IDH patients showed wild NPM1 (p=0.049). Median OS of mutant IDH in the intermediate risk cytogenetics was 1.8 years (0.7-3.1) vs. 3.1 years (1.1-5.5) for wild IDH (p=0.05). Conclusion: IDH mutation is mainly associated with intermediate risk AML and when integrated in this specific subgroup displays a lower survival and can be considered an additional integrated molecular risk marker for AML prognosis.

- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: Objectives: To assess the efficacy of cytoreductive surgery (CRS) combined with hyperthermic intraperitoneal
chemotherapy (HIPEC) in recurrent platinum-sensitive ovarian cancer patients in comparison with standard intravenous
chemotherapy in terms of progression free survival and overall survival. Methods: Retrospective case control study
matching 15 cases with 20 controls with at least 24 months of follow up. Results: The two groups were comparable
and well matched in all aspects. Median follow up was 36 months in cases and 38 months in controls. The PFS2
revealed a median of 6 months (range 2-14) in cases and 5 months (range 2-18) in controls. The median OS was 36
and 38 months in cases and controls respectively. No statistically significant difference between the cases and controls
were observed in progression free survival (PFS2) and overall survival OS (P-value, 0.350 and 0.711 respectively).
However, the PFS2 was in favor of cases and OS was in favor of controls without reaching significance. The percentage
of patients who survived 5 years or more was 20% in cases and 35% in controls. The only issue in favor of HIPEC
is the significant reduction in chemotherapeutic toxicity when given by the intraperitoneal way (P- value 0.003).
Conclusion: According to our study, CRS and HIPEC do not seem to have impact on OS and PFS in the setting of
recurrent platinum sensitive ovarian cancer. However, we recommend on going researches with much more refined
selection criteria and with larger sample size.- انتشار مقاله: 05-07-1397
