- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Previous studies show that serum level of uric acid is significantly correlated with mortality and functional outcome in patients with ischemic stroke and according to some other studies, ischemic stroke is associated with stenosis of some stenoisis of somespecific brain vessels. The aim of this study was to investigate the frequency of hyperuricemia and its association with intra and extra cerebral vessels stenosis in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Method: In this cross-sectional study, 169 patients with acute atherothrombotic stroke were evaluated. Blood samples were collected in the first 24 hours after stroke for the assessment of uric acid. Doppler ultrasound was done in the first 5 days of stroke. To analyze data, t-test and logistic regression were used. Results: In this study, 22.4 % of patients had hyperuricemia. There was no significant statistical relationship between uric acid level and stenosis. Also, there was no significant statistical relationship between uric acid level and cerebrovascular risk factors. Mean serum uric acid level was 5.09±1/63 in patients with intracerebral vessels stenosis, 5.42±1.11in patients with extracerebral vessels stenosis and 6.18± 1.75 in patients with both intracerebral and extracerebral vessels stenosis. There was no significant statistical relationship between uric acid level and site of stenosis. Conclusion:Hyperuricemia is frequent in patients with acute ischemic stroke. The site of cerebral vessels stenosis is not associated with hyperuricemia.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Disguised face recognition is a major challenge in the field of face recognition which has been taken less attention. Therefore, in this paper a disguised face recognition algorithm based on Local Phase Quantization (LPQ) method and Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) is presented which deals with two main challenges. The first challenge is when an individual intentionally alters the appearance by using disguise accessories, and the second one is when gallery images are limited for recognition. LPQ has been used for extraction of the statistical feature of the phase in windows with different sizes for each pixel of the image. SVD is used to cope with the challenge of the gallery images limitation and also with the help of original images extracted from that, every single image turns to three renovated images. In this study, disguise is intended as a blur in the image and Local phase quantization method is robust against the disguised mode, due to the use of the statistical feature of the Fourier transform phase. Also the use of different-sized window instead of fixed window in feature extraction stage, the performance of the proposed method has increased. The distance of images from each other is computed by using Manhattan and Euclidean distance for recognition in the proposed method. The Performance of the proposed algorithm has been evaluated by using three series of experiments on two real and synthesized databases. The first test has been performed by evaluating all the possible combinations of the different-sized windows created in the feature extraction stage, and the second experiment has been done by reducing the number of gallery images and then the third one has been carried out in different disguise. In all cases, the proposed method is competitive with to several existing well-known algorithms and when there is only an image of the person it even outperforms them.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: Every year a large number of Muslims, especially from Iran, travel to holy places in Iraq for pilgrimage. Like Hajj and other mass gatherings, the health of pilgrims in Iraq is a major issue. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of diseases in pilgrims referring to Iranian clinics in Iraq.
Methods: This descriptive study was conducted in April and May, 2013. All Iranian pilgrims referring to clinics in Najaf, Karbala, Baghdad, or Kazmain during this one-month period were entered in the study. Data was gathered from medical records in these clinics and analyzed using SPSS software version 16.
Results: From 22 April to 20 May, 2013, a total of 26,574 patients were admitted to Iranian clinics in Iraq, 42% of whom were women and 58% were men. The main causes for referring to the clinics were signs and symptoms of acute respiratory infection (48%), musculoskeletal problems (19%), control of underlying disease (diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, gastritis) (16%), and gastroenteritis (7%). The prevalence of underlying conditions was higher in women.
Conclusion: According to the survey results and specific conditions in terms of climate and the infrastructure of facilities in Iraq, it seems that infectious and communicable diseases can be prevented by providing appropriate training prior to the pilgrimage and emphasizing and monitoring the use of personal protective equipment. Moreover, vaccination, medical examination before deployment, and establishing medical records can be better ways to treat underlying diseases, control health, and ensure the better health of pilgrims.- انتشار مقاله: 27-07-1394

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed among women, Tumor suppressor genes such
as BRCA1 involved in cell cycle control and repairing of DNA damage. BRCA1 is a risk factor gene that alteration
in its protein cause in susceptibility to breast or ovarian cancer. Short tandem repeat (STR) polymorphism is linked to
some disease. Objective: The aim of this study was screening a new mutation in patients with familial breast cancer.
Materials and Methods: In this study, 200 women with breast cancer were participated. Among the patients, 40 women
suffer from familial breast cancer. After DNA extraction from peripheral blood samples, Exons 16 to 23 of BRCA1 gene
directly analyzed in SSCP gel electrophoresis followed by direct sequencing. Results: After direct sequencing, a new
mutation was detected in intron 17 of BRCA1 gene. Three patients of one family have a germ line intronic mutation in
the BRCA1 gene (IVS17-27delA). Also, this mutation in this family is linked to a haplotype of intragenic short tandem
repeat (STR) in the BRCA1 gene. Conclusion: By Screening of gene mutations can be found association of mutation
and incidence of disease. Also, studying the mutation in families and finding specific hereditary patterns in that family
