- چکیده انگلیسی: This study was conducted to determine the concentrations of Ag, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Ni, Pb, and Zn in the commonly used cosmetic products such as eyeshadows, eyeliners, and skin whitening creams in markets of Sanandaj city, Iran in 2014. In this study, 60 samples comprising of three different types of eyeshadows, eyeliners, and skin whitening creams were purchased randomly from different cosmetic shops in Sanandaj city. The cosmetic product samples were digested using wet digestion method. Trace elements were assayed using an ICP-OES. According to the results, Ag and Fe were the trace elements with the lowest and highest concentration in the three brands, respectively. Moreover, the results indicated that eyeshadow contains the highest (except Ag and Cd) concentrations of trace elements. On the other hand, the levels of HQ for trace elements in the cosmetic products decreased in the following order: Zn > Cr > Cd > Fe > Cu > Ag > Ni > Pb. The trace element concentrations in the three brands of cosmetic products in our research were lower than the international standards and similar to those reported from researchers in different parts of Iran, but according to the accumulation and toxicity of these trace elements in the human body, they require periodic monitoring.

- چکیده انگلیسی: This research aims to monitor the trace elements content (Cr, Cu, Pb, Cd, Ag, Al, Mn, Mg, Zn and Fe) in the tissues of the muscle and liver of silver carp (H. molitrix ) and stone moroko (P. parva) from Zarivar Wetland in western Iran. This research was cross-sectional. The research specimen was fish caught from Zarivar Wetland. Metal concentration analysis was carried out utilizing an ICP. Findings indicate presence of Fe and Pb in the liver, Zn and Cd in the muscle hadthe highest and lowest metal concentration accumulated, respectively. The trace elements content in the liver tissue was higher than those in the muscle tissue of H. molitrix and P. parva. Moreover, the Hazard Quotients for an adult with mean of 71.5 kg was below 1 based on trace elements levels. Though, the mean concentrations of trace elements in the muscle of H. molitrix and P. parva was lower than international standards. according to the uptake and distribution, these elements require periodic monitoring in the human body.

- چکیده انگلیسی: The aim of this research was to investigate concentrations of cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), chromium (Cr), copper (Cu), and zinc (Zn) in the muscle, gill, and liver of common carp (Cyprinus carpio), tuwini (Capoeta trutta), and Grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) from Sirvan River, Kermanshah Province, Iran, during November to December 2014. This investigation was conducted in order to determine the potential health risk of the intake of these metals through the consumption of the edible parts of fish and also to assess the safe dietary intake levels of these metals. The results of the present study indicated that the highest and lowest accumulated metal concentrations were related to Zn and Cd, respectively. Moreover, the metal concentrations in the gill and liver were higher than in the muscles of the three fish species. The target hazard quotients (THQs) for an adult with mean body weight of 71.5 kg were below 1 based on Cd, Pb, Cr, Cu, and Zn levels. In conclusion, the obtained results indicated that the levels of metals in the edible muscle of fish species in this study were below the level of concern for human consumption.

- چکیده انگلیسی: The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO-NPs) and copper ions (Cu++) on guppy (Poecilia reticulata), in order to assess Cu uptake in the gill, and histopathology of gill and intestinal organs in semi-static regimes for 10 days. Guppy fish were assigned into three groups; one control group, and two experimental groups receiving 20 µg/l of either Cu++ or CuO-NPs in a semi-static aqueous culture for 10 days. Gill and intestinal tissue samples were obtained under a standard protocol for further histopathological examinations. The notable alterations observed in gill tissues in the experimental groups were aneurism, fusion, gill epithelial hyperplasia, increased mucous secretion, and necrosis. Noticeable anomalies in intestinal tissue were increase in the number of goblet cells, swelling of goblet cells, degeneration, vacuolation, necrosis, and erosion. Moreover, copper accumulation in gill tissue in the Cu++ treated group was higher than that in the CuO-NPs treated group. In contrast, the severity of histopathological damages in gill and intestinal tissues was greater in the CuO-NPs experimental group.

- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: The purpose of this study was to monitor the concentrations of mercury in the edible muscle, gill, liver, and skin of common carp (Cyprinus carpio) and silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix), in the Sanandaj Gheshlagh Reservoir, Iran. Mercury concentrations were assayed using Shimadzu AA 6600 atomic absorption spectrophotometer, and the results were given as µg/g wet weight. The level of mercury in organs of silver carp was higher than in common carp. Moreover, the highest and lowest level of mercury has been accumulated in the gill and skin organs respectively. The results showed that the maximum allowable fish consumption rate for an adult person with mean 71.5 kg body weight were 21 g/day base on g/day based on mercury levels. In conclusion, results showed that the mercury concentrations in the edible muscle of both fish species are below levels of concern for human consumption.

- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: We assessed the physico-chemical status of twelve surface water samples from the Birjand flood plain (east of Iran) during fall 2010. The sampling points were selected on the basis of their importance. The physico-chemical parameters such as pH, temperature (T), electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS), total hardness (TH), calcium (Ca2+), magnesium (Mg2+ ), sodium (Na+), potassium (K+), chloride (Cl-), sulphtate (SO42-), bicarbonate (HCO3–), carbonate (CO32–), nitrite (NO2–), nitrate (NO3–), dissolved oxygen (DO), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5), and chemical oxygen demand (COD) of surface water were determined. The results showed that there were a statistical significant positive correlation between the pH and DO. pH and temperature indicated negative association with most of the parameters. Furthermore, EC showed highly significant positive association with TDS, TH, Ca2+, Na+, and Cl-. Results showed that the quality of surface water was not suitable for drinking, with references to the concentrations of EC, TDS, TH, Na+, HCO3-, and BOD5 which were more than the prescribed limits, in most sites.
