- چکیده انگلیسی: Wastewater stabilization ponds (WSPs) are natural, relatively simple, and cost-effective treatment processes that are used to stabilize the biodegradable compounds in wastewater. The present study aimed to propose a mathematical model for organic matter decline in facultative ponds (FPs). This analytical study yielded practical results, and the samples were collected from the ponds located in Yazd city, Iran. The reliability of the regression models (linear, quadratic, cubic, and exponential) was assessed and simulated by fitting the data. Initially, the data were fitted using linear and nonlinear curves. The comparative analysis of the results obtained from the models and Akaike information criterion (AIC) coefficient demonstrated that the linear model had the optimal correlations with surface loading (LS, O) and minimum average monthly air temperature (Ta) with very high percentage accountability (R2=0.939). The correlation-coefficients (R2) for the second, third, and exponential models were estimated at 0.938, 0.939, and 0.938, respectively. Therefore, it could be concluded that there was a logical association between the LS, O and Ta, which suggests that these models are able to simulate the performance of the FPs. As such, the proposed models could be used to predict the reduction of organic materials in FPs, and the linear model was statistically selected as the optimal model for this purpose. In Iran and the neighboring countries where there are similar seasonal variations in temperature in most cities, the obtained models could be widely used for designing facultative ponds.

- چکیده انگلیسی: The ionic contents, pH and osmolality of seminal plasma and their relationships to sperm motility indices (sperm motility duration and percentage of motile sperm) were evaluated in bester. Semen was collected from six bester specimens and their seminal plasma was evaluated. The seminal plasma contained 54.5±2.8 mM sodium, 22.33±2.5 mM chloride, 7.1±1.2 mM potassium, 3.55±0.6 mM calcium and 0.58±0.09 mM magnesium. The result shows that Na+, Cl- and K+ (54.5±2.8, 22.33±2.5 and 7.1±1.2 mM, respectively) were predominant ions in bester seminal plasma like other sturgeons. However the concentrations of K+, Ca2+ and Cl- in bester seminal plasma were higher than those reported in beluga and sterlet as parental species. The mean pH and osmolality of seminal plasma were 8.09±0.34 and 127.6±20.8 mOsm kg-1, respectively. A significant negative regression was observed between osmolality and percentage motility (r=- 0.893).

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background and Objectives: Shift working has the potential to negatively influence the quality of work life among nurses. The purpose of this study was to investigate the outbreak of shift work-related disorders and the relationship between shift work and job satisfaction in nurses of Ilam University’s subsidiary hospitals, in order to identify potential strategies for decreasing risk of health problems among nurses. Methods: In a cross-sectional study, 84 shift working nurses at three hospitals were randomly selected. The Survey of Shift worker (SOS) questionnaire was used as the major study tool. The nurses’ demographic and work condition data were collected using a research-made questionnaire. T-test was used for inferential analysis of the data. Findings: Psychological disorder (96.4%) was found to be the most prevalent shift work-related problem followed by social life (84.5%) and digestive problems (81%), respectively. Nurses who had chosen shift work voluntarily showed significantly higher job satisfaction as compared with nurses who were forced to work on shift (P < 0.05). Conclusions: Our study recommends that shift work is assigned preliminarily to the nurses who voluntarily choose to work on shift, in order to reduce the associated disorders and increase nurses’ job satisfaction.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background and Objectives: Today, 24-hours work is an unavoidable component in several industries. Night-work is an imperative situation for an important part of workforces. Shift-working is called to work at hours out of usual day-work time (7:00 am to 6:00 pm). The present study was a cross sectional descriptive-analytic research, and was carried out in order to investigate sleepiness and changes in vital signs among the clinical shift workers staff at Imam Khomeini hospital in Ilam. Methods: Statistical population of the research was determined to be 79 persons, and data collection process was carried out in a simple random manner. Two questionnaires were used to collect data; a demographic questionnaire, and the Stanford Sleepiness Scale (SSS) questionnaire. A medical thermometer and one manometer were also used to gather data related to oral temperature and blood pressure. Potential relationship between sleepiness and demographic and professional factors was explored using Perason's correlation coeficient. Findings: Sleepiness was found to be significantly correlated with age, work experience, and Body Mass Index (BMI), and level of education (P < 0.05). In addition, sleepiness showed significant inverse correlations with body temperature and blood pressure (P < 0.05). Conclusions: Our results identified a number of important factors influencing sleepiness in clinicians. Considering these factors is of great importance when selecting staff for shift working, in order to enhance health care performance and prevent medication errors.

- چکیده انگلیسی: The freshwater shrimp, Macrobrachium nipponense is an invasive species which has recently been reported in Anzali Wetland, Iran. It exhibited good tolerance and adaption in this wetland ecosystem. This study examined certain aspects of feeding of M. nipponense in three habitats of this wetland. Shrimps were randomly sampled from April 2016 to March 2017. The stomach contents were obtained from 367 specimens ranging in length from 4.2 cm to 6.9 cm. The empty stomach index (VI) showed that this shrimp was a voracious (0 ≤ VI < 20) species in all seasons expect winter, when 99% of the specimens had empty stomachs. Fourteen dietary items were categorized in the three habitats of the wetland, with phytoplankton, mollusks and detritus forms being the dominant food items in the western, central and eastern habitats respectively. The feeding precedence index (FP) revealed that the most abundant portion of food was subsidiary one (50 ≥ FP ≥ 10) and the highest proportions of subsidiary food were phytoplankton (24.5%), gastropods (34%) and detritus (29.11%) in the western, central and eastern habitats, respectively. Omnivorous feeding is one of the reasons for the success, high tolerance and adaptation of M. nipponense in the Anzali Wetland ecosystem.
