- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: Lead forms the complexes with xylenol orange in the basic solution. An adsorptive
differential pulse stripping method for the determination of lead is proposed. The procedure
involves an adsorptive accumulation of lead on a hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE) in
the presence of xylenol orange, followed by reduction of adsorbed lead by voltammetric scan
using differential pulse modulation. The optimum experimental conditions are: xylenol orange
concentration of 0.20 μg mL-1, pH 10.5, accumulation potential of -900 mV versus Ag/AgCl,
accumulation time of 200 s, scan rate of 10 mV s-1 and pulse height of 100 mV. The peak current
is proportional to the concentration of lead over range of 0.03-0.65 μg mL-1, and the detection
limit is 0.01 μg mL-1. The relative standard deviations (n=3) for 0.10 μg mL-1 lead is 0.86%,
respectively. The proposed method was applied to the determination of lead in hair and water
samples with satisfactory results.- انتشار مقاله: 27-11-1388

- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: Bladder cancer represents a global health problem. It ranks ninth in worldwide cancer incidence. In Egypt, carcinoma of the bladder is the most prevalent cancer, Bladder cancer has the highest recurrence rate of any malignancy. Certainly, suitable molecular diagnostic markers are required to improve the early detection of bladder cancer and then to prolong survival of patients. The present study was aimed to explore the expression of CDk4 and STAT3 in bladder cancer tissues as prospective for target therapy. Our studied groups showed higher values of CDK4 and STAT3 expression in malignant tissues (SCC andUC collectively) compared to cystitis, however, significantly higher values of CDK4 and STAT3 expression were detected in UC group compared to SCC group. Urothelial carcinomas with papillary patterns showed lower parameters of CDK4 and STAT3 expression compared to the non-papillary variant, with significant differences. Higher grades of UC showed significantly higher parameters of CDK4 and STAT3 expression compared to low grade ones. Muscle invasion increases the level of CDK4 and STAT3 expression parameters, compared to non-muscle invasive UC. Conclusion: Our results showed a good correlation of the expression patterns of both the cell cycle (CDK4) and inflammatory (STAT3) markers studied and might be helpful for suggesting more selective agents in the therapeutic scenario of bladder cancer in the near future. Potential biomarkers such as CDK4 andSTAT3 may be targets for molecular based therapeutic strategies in the prevention or management of bladder cancer. Future studies should explore molecular mechanisms of these proteins to define their roles in tumorigenesis.

- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: Background and aim: Imaging guided microwave ablation (MWA) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has
become a widely used method over recent years. Tumors close to the diaphragm, gastrointestinal tract, gallbladder,
pancreas, hepatic hilum and major bile duct or vessels are generally considered relative contraindications for microwave
ablation. This study was conducted to assess the effectiveness and safety of ultrasonography-guided MWA in treating
patients with HCC in difficult anatomical sites in comparison to those in conventional sites. Patients and methods:
Eighty-eight patients were included and divided into two groups: the study group of 44 with 46 lesions lying <5mm
from the diaphragm, hepatic capsule, gall bladder (GB) or large vessel; and the control group of 44 patients with
50 lesions in non-risky sites. Each lesion was ablated using an ultrasound guided microwave probe using a detailed
protocol. Results: Most of the patients were males, with a mean age of 57.8 years. In the study group, two patients
had lesions adjacent to the GB, twelve were perivascular and 32 were subcapsular. The overall successful ablation
rates were 84.8% and 92% in the study and control groups, respectively. Within the study group, ablation rates were
100%, 75% and 87.5% for lesions close to the GB, perivascular lesions and subcapsular lesions, respectively. One
patient developed a subcutaneous abscess, with good outcome after proper treatment. Fever, pain and asymptomatic
pleural effusion were reported after ablation without statistically significant difference between the groups or among
subgroups. In conclusion: MWA for HCC in difficult anatomical sites is as effective and safe as for ordinary sites.- انتشار مقاله: 02-07-1397
