- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: Left ventricular remodeling is a relatively prevalent complication of acute myocardial infarction (AMI), and it is associated with higher rates of medical issues and mortality. Left ventricle ejection fraction (LVEF) and wall motion score index (WMSI) are unable to detect accurately minor lesions following AMI. Global longitudinal strain (GLS), which is obtained through 2D-speckle tracking echocardiography (2D-STE), provides an angle-dependent measurement by which the infarcted area can be assessed as a means of identifying potential dysfunction. The main objective of this study was to evaluate whether GLS could adequately predict LV remodeling in AMI patients.
Methods: The MEDLINE database from database inception to May 6th, 2015, was searched for relevant keywords and the reference lists of systematic reviews and eligible studies were also screened. All studies involving patients with their first reported case of AMI were examined for GLS by 2D-STE and were evaluated for LV remodeling at a three-month follow-up point. Four English-language prospective cohort studies were eligible for inclusion in this study.
Result: A total of 291 AMI patients (mean age=57.92 years) were investigated across four different studies. The main finding of this study was that the most reliable and consistent measurement for the purposes of predicting LV remodeling in AMI patients is GLS obtained at the time of discharge, especially in STEMI patients.
Discussion: In addition to their poor reproducibility, inability to stratify risks, and inter-observer variability, compensatory hyperkinesis of intact myocytes and myocardial stunning after an AMI are among the main reasons why LVEF and WMSI may not be the most effective predictors of LV remodeling in AMI.
Conclusion: GLS obtained by 2D-STE at the time of discharge could be used as a reliable predictor of LV remodeling in AMI patients.- انتشار مقاله: 20-02-1394

- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: There are some reports suggesting a link between lead exposure and cardiovascular disease but understanding the contribution of lead to specific cardiovascular diseases has remained incompletely.
Materials and Methods: In this case-control study, serum lead level in 30 patients with diagnosed coronary slow flow phenomenon (CSFP) documented by coronary angiography was evaluated and compared with the values of the control group containing 30 patients with normal coronary angiography.
Results: Age, sex, major clinical risk factors for coronary artery disease, laboratory and echocardiographic parameters were similar in patients with and without CSFP (p > 0.05). Significant differences were found between the 2 study groups regarding serum lead level.
Conclusion: Lead is a highly poisonous metal (whether inhaled or swallowed), affecting almost every organ and system in the body. Long-term exposure to lead can cause nephropathy and rise in blood pressure. We found it may also contribute to ischemic heart disease and CSFP. The suspected mechanism is oxidative stress and inflammation.- انتشار مقاله: 09-08-1395

- چکیده انگلیسی: Plants for optimal growth requires absorb water and nutrients absorption from the soil. Magnetic Water downward movement of minerals and makes it easy for plants to absorb nutrients and water. This study was designed to investigate the effect of magnetic salt water on some quantity and quality characteristics of artichoke leaves. The experiment was factorial based on completely randomized design with four levels of magnetic field [0, 3000, 6000 and 10000 gauss] and four levels of salinity [0 , 3, 6 and 12 ds/m sodium chloride]. Results showed that the magnified water affected plant growth parameters. Fresh and dry weight of leaves and roots of plants increased as irrigated by magnified water. A significant interaction of salinity and magnetism was observed on mentioned parameters.Salinity and electromagnetic had significant effects on the most measured biochemical parameters. The highest amounts of phenolic and flavonoid contents were observed in the plants treated with magnified and saline water at medium level. The maximum antioxidant activity was observed in plant grown under 6 ds/m salinity. The highest and lowest amount s of chlorogenic acid was observed in plants irrigated with 6 ds/m saline water in which magnified fewer than 3000 gauss. The highest amount of caffeic acid [0/0044 mg/g] was recorded under 6 ds/m salinity and 3000 gauss electromagnetic conditions. Based on the results, it can be stated that the magnification increases efficiency of salty water and improve the performance and quality of the artichoke leaves.

- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: Congenital chylothorax is an uncommon cause of respiratory distress and a life-threatening condition in newborns. It is identified by abnormal accumulation of chyle in the pleural space. Herein, we report a male infant who was born by a successful vaginal delivery. After the first three days of life, he had feeding difficulties and cyanotic episodes during breastfeeding. On admission, physical examination showed decreased breath sounds on the right side of the chest and the plain chest X-ray indicated right-sided pleural effusion. This patient was diagnosed with congenital chylothorax, based on the evaluation of pleural fluid via diagnostic and therapeutic thoracentesis and postnatal diagnostic X-rays. Since the effusion was persistent after drainage of pleural space, total parenteral nutrition (TPN) and surgical pleurodesis (on the right side of lung) were performed on the patient.
Due to the fact that congenital chylothorax is a life-threatening condition, reporting these cases could be a great assistance to physicians for managing the disease; it can also help with reducing the resultant morbidity and mortality.- انتشار مقاله: 15-02-1393
