- چکیده انگلیسی: Two new mercury(II) Schiff base complexes [Hg((2,6-Cl-ba)2-1,2-pn)X2] (X = Cl (1), I (2) and (2,6-Cl-ba)2-1,2-pn = N,N'-bis(2,6-dichlorobenzylidene)-1,2-diaminopropane) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis (CHN), FT-IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. The crystal structure of complexes 1 and 2 were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. X-ray results shown that the mercury(II) ions in these complexes have a distorted tetrahedral geometry with HgN2Cl2 and HgN2I2 chromophores, respectively. In these complexes, the Schiff base ligand (2,6-Cl-ba)2-1,2-pn act as chelating bidentate ligand, coordinating via the two iminic nitrogen atoms and it adopts an E,E conformation. Finally, the thermal behavior of complexes was study using thermogravimetry in order to evaluate their thermal stability and thermal decomposition pathway.

- چکیده انگلیسی: In this paper, single crystalline octahedral Co3O4 with dimensions about 100–500 nm and smooth surface has been prepared by solid-state thermal decomposition of cobalt(II) Schiff base complex Co((3,4-MeO-ba)2 en)Cl2 as new precursor at 450ºC under air atmosphere for 3.5 h. Surface morphology of the products were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

- چکیده انگلیسی: In this study, Ni/NiO nanocomposites were prepared using simple, environment-friendly and low-cost solid-state thermal decomposition method from nickel (II) Schiff base complex at 400 and 500°C for 3 hours. The Ni/NiO nanocomposites were characterized with Fourier transformed infra-red spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-Ray fluorescence (XRF). Results of XRD and XRF confirmed that the nanocomposite products contain a mixture of nickel and nickel oxide. The Ni or NiO content varied with the temperature used for the synthesis. Upon increasing the temperature from 400 to 500°C, the amount of NiO was found to be increased due to a complete oxidation of Ni to NiO. The TEM images demonstrated that the composites were spherical with a distribution size of about 10-30 nm. In addition, the products displayed reasonable electrochemical performance.

- چکیده انگلیسی: In this paper, we have focused on the preparation and characterization of copper oxide nanoparticles by solid state thermal decomposition of copper(I) iodide in the presence of thiosemicarbazone ligands without the need for a catalyst, employing toxic solvent, template or surfactant and complicated equipment, which makes it efficient, one-step, simple and environment-friendly. CuO nanoparticles were achieved at 600 ˚C for 3 h as black products and characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The FT-IR spectra of black powders prepared show absorption maxima at ≈ 525 cm-1 which are due to Cu-O stretching mode. Also, all the X-ray diffraction peaks could be readily assigned to those of crystalline CuO. The absence of any residual ligand traces or other phases in the FT-IR spectra and XRD patterns confirmed the preparation of high purity and single phase copper oxide nanoparticles. The TEM images show that the synthesized copper oxide nanoparticles are of plate like shape with average diameters of 10 – 20 nm. On the basis of the above results, the use of thiosemicarbazone ligands at the presence of suitable transition metal ions is potentially capable of forming other transition metal oxide nanoparticles by solid state thermal decomposition.

- چکیده انگلیسی: In this paper, two double helical dinuclear copper(II) complexes of bis-N,O-bidentate Schiff base ligands bis(3-methoxy-N-salicylidene-4,4'-diaminodiphenyl)sulfone (L1) and bis(5-bromo-N-salicylidene-4,4'-diaminodiphenyl)sulfone (L2) were prepared and characterized by elemental analyses (CHN), as well as thermal analysis. Elemental analyses (CHN) suggested that the reaction between ligands and copper salt has been occurred in 1:1 molar ratio. In these complexes the Schiff base ligands behaves as an anionic and bis-bidentate chelate and is coordinated to the copper(II) ion via two phenolic oxygen and two iminic nitrogen atoms. In these double helical dinuclear complexes, each copper(II) center has a pseudo-tetrahedral coordination sphere two-wrapped ligands. Thermal analysis of ligands and their complexes were studied in the range of room temperature to 750 °C with a heating rate of 10 °C min-1. TG plots show that the ligands and their complexes are thermally decomposed via 2 and 3 thermal steps, respectively. In addition, the complexes thermally decomposed in air at 520 °C for 3 h. - چکیده انگلیسی: In this research study, two Schiff base compounds AP-DHPDB (1) synthesized from the reaction of 2-aminophenol (AP) with 3, 3ʹ-dihydroxy-4, 4ʹ-(propane-1, 2-dieloxy)-dibenzaldehyde (DHPDB) and FA-DHEDB (2) synthesized from the reaction of furfuryl amine (FA) with 3, 3ʹ-dihydroxy-4, 4ʹ-(ethane-1, 2-dieloxy)-dibenzaldehyde (DHEDB) by reflux in methanol as solvent for 2 h. Suitable crystals of 1 and 2 get by slow evaporation of solvent after few days and characterized by elemental analysis. Crystal structures of the title compounds 1 and 2 were determined using the single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The title compounds 1 and 2 were found to be in monoclinic and orthorhombic with the space group of C2/c and Pnca, respectively. The unit cell parameter of 1 were a=29/8994(10), b=4.86618(7), c=21.7214(4) Å, b=124.4901(17)° and V=2604.85(12) Å3, and the unit cell parameter of 2 were a=22/3513(7), b=26.0250(7), c=4.6681(9) Å and V=2715(12) Å3. The C-N bond distances around the iminic nitrogen of compound 1 are 1.418 and 1.268 Å, and in compound 2 are 1.467 and 1.269 Å, indicated the single and double bonds, respectively. Also, the bond angles around the iminic nitrogen are distorted from 120° corresponding to sp2 hybrid (N1-C7-C8 = 122.5° and C6-N1-C7 = 119.3° for 1 and N7-C8-C9 = 123.9° and C6-N7-C8 = 116.12° for 2).

- چکیده انگلیسی: A new tetradentate N2O2 Schiff base ligand (MeO-bph)2bn = N,N¢-bis(2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenone)-1,4-butanediamine was prepared from the condensation of butane-1,4-diamine with 4-methoxy-2-hydroxybenzophenone and characterized by 1H-NMR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Its nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes characterized using elemental analyses (CHN) and IR spectroscopy. Thermogravimetric analysis of the Schiff base ligand and its Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes revealed their thermal stability and decomposition pattern. Finally, the complexes were used for the preparation of NiO and CuO nanoparticles by solid-state thermal decomposition. The nanoparticles were characterized by FT-IR, XRD, and SEM. FT-IR and XRD confirmed the purity of the formed products NiO and CuO.

- چکیده انگلیسی: In the present work, we report preparation of NiO nanoparticles with well-defined plate morphology by solid-state reaction of NiCl2∙6H2O and the Schiff base ligand N,N′-bis-(3-methoxysalicylidene)benzene-1,4-diamine), as a novel precursor via solid state thermal decomposition method. This method is a simple and environmentally friendly for preparing transition metal oxides. The result of TGA analysis of the precursor showed that the proper calcinations temperature is 450 oC. The NiO product was characterized by XRD, FT-IR and UV-Vis spectroscopy, SEM and TEM. The results indicated that the obtained product is face-centered cubic of nickel oxide, plate shape with average particle size of 10-20 nm. The optical absorption band gap of the nickel oxide nanoparticles was estimated to be 2.1 eV.

- چکیده انگلیسی: PVC/NiFe2O4/Fe2O3 compositewas successfully synthesized and characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Also, the catalytic activity of PVC/NiFe2O4/Fe2O3 has been considered in the synthesis of two arylidene barbituric acid derivatives. The FT-IR and XRD results confirmed the synthesis of PVC/NiFe2O4/Fe2O3 composite. According to Scherre equation and the main peak at about 2θ = 41.72º, the average crystalline size of the nanoparticles determined at about 75 nm. Catalytic activity results show that the as-prepared composite is as an efficient catalyst. This study suggests that other PVC composites could be explored as a new catalyst for synthesis of other arylidene barbituric acids.
