- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Osteoarthritis is one of the most prevalent joint diseases in older adults. Since hands play a key role in
daily activities, their impairment causes disability and reduction of independency. The present study aimed to investigate
the effect of using Kinesio tape on pain, range of motion (ROM), hand strength, and functional abilities in patient with
hand osteoarthritis (HOA).
Methods: In this randomized clinical trial study, 38 patients with the diagnosis of HOA were selected and randomly
assigned to Kinesio tape plus exercise (KT-EXE) and exercise (EXE) groups. Each group included 19 subjects who
participated in an 8-week intervention. Visual analog scale, Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand questionnaire,
as well as goniometer and dynamometer measurements, were used to assess pain severity, upper extremity functional
disabilities, ROM, and grip strength, respectively, before and after the intervention and at 2 months of follow-up.
Results: There was no significant difference in pre-intervention scores between the two groups. Statistical analysis
revealed significant improvement in pain, ROM, hand strength, and upper-extremity functional abilities after the
intervention in KT-EXE and EXE groups. In addition, the follow-up analysis showed significant changes, compared to
the initial assessments except for the pain in the EXE group. Results of the independent t-test revealed that change
was significantly greater in KT-EXE group than that in the EXE group at post-intervention and 2-month follow-up
assessments except for the wrist flexion and upper-extremity functional abilities at final evaluation.
Conclusion: Obtained results of this study showed that Kinesio taping and hand exercise may have a positive effect on
the improvement of pain, ROM, hand strength, and upper-extremity functional abilities in patients with HOA. In addition,
these two methods can be simultaneously used for the rehabilitation of this condition.

- چکیده انگلیسی: In this work, stable crystalline phosphorus yields are obtained in good yields from the 1:1:1 addition reactions between hydrazine derivatives and dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates in the presence of triphenylphosphine at room temperature in dichloromethane. This synthetic method has merits of high yields, mild reaction conditions, and simple experimental and work-up conditions. The obtained yields exist in solution as a mixture of two geometric isomers. This is because of the restricted rotation around the carbon-carbon partial double bond resulting from conjugation of the yields moiety with the adjacent carbonyl group.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Oxidative stress and free radicals play a crucial role in muscle fatigue. Pistacia vera (P. vera) contains many
antioxidant substances such as coenzyme Q-10, vitamin E and beta-carotene. The current study has been designed to evaluate
the effects of P. vera seeds (pistachios) on skeletal muscle fatigue in male Wistar rats.
Materials and methods: 50 Male Wistar rats were randomly divided into five groups, including the normal, vehicle and
treated groups of pistachio extracts (10, 100, and 1000 mg/kg). Muscle fatigue was induced by treadmills. Animals would run
at the speed of 20 m/min on a treadmill until they showed fatigue signs. This protocol was repeated for 10 days. The hydroalcoholic extracts of pistachios were gavaged 30 minutes before the induction of muscle fatigue every day. On the 11th day, rats
were sacrificed and biochemical parameters such as creatine phospho-kinase (CPK), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and aspartate
aminotransferase (AST) levels were measured in the plasma.
Results: The different doses of the pistachio extract led to an increase in the fatigue time on days 2 (100 mg/kg) (p<0.05), 4
(10 and 100 mg/kg) (all p<0.05), 5 (10 and 1000 mg/kg) (all p<0.05), 7 (10 and 1000 mg/kg) (all p<0.05) and 9 (100 mg/kg)
(p<0.05). The induction of muscle fatigue led to an increase in the serum activity of CPK, LDH and AST (all p<0.01). The
pistachio extract (10 and 100 mg/kg) decreased the serum activities of LDH and AST (all p<0.05).
Conclusion: According to the results of this study, it was concluded that pistachios could decrease skeletal muscle fatigue in male Wistar rats.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) is an imaging technique that provides spectroscopic information about changes in biological markers. Studies suggest that MRS can be helpful in determining the prognosis of patients with diffuse axonal injury (DAI).
Methods: The PubMed and Scopus databases were systematically searched in June 2015 using following search strategy: (“Magnetic resonance spectroscopy” OR MRS OR “MR spectroscopy”) AND [(“Diffuse axonal injury” OR DAI] AND Prognosis) to find relevant articles in which the prognostic value of MRS had been investigated in patients with traumatic DAI. All relevant information was extracted from the identified articles and used to synthesize the data for the purpose of this study.
Result: In total, 19 articles were found in PubMed and 151 in Scopus. Of these, eight documents were selected for further data extraction following the application of the inclusion/exclusion criteria. The total number of patients who participated in the research studies described in the selected documents was 197. All of the selected documents showed that MRS can be used to quantitatively assess metabolite changes in patients with DAI.
Discussion: The results of the studies indicate that MRS imaging as a sensitive method can quantitatively determine even small variations in metabolites. Any changes in the metabolite level of the brain after traumatic injury may be a useful predictor of a patient’s outcome; therefore, if the sensitivity of MRS is proven, this method can have prognostic value when employed with patients with DAI.
Conclusion: Based on the results of this systematic review, MRS is a sensitive tool that is helpful in determining the prognosis of patients with DAI.- انتشار مقاله: 02-11-1393
