- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a T cell mediated autoimmune disease targeting the insulin-producing β cells within pancreatic islets. Autoimmune diseases may develop as a consequence of altered balance between regulatory (Tregs) and autoreactive T cells.
Objectives: To evaluate Treg cells frequency and suppressive function in the peripheral blood of newly diagnosed T1D patients in comparison with healthy controls.
Methods: Fifteen new cases of T1D patients and 15 age- and sexmatched healthy controls were recruited to this study. Their peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were isolated and CD4 +CD25+FoxP3+CD127-/low Treg cells were studied by flowcytometry technique. Thereafter, Tregs were isolated by Magnetic- Activated Cell Separation (MACS) technology and by using CFSE (carboxyfluorescein succinimidyl ester) dilution assay, their suppressive activity was evaluated in the coculture of CD4 +CD25- T responder cells with Treg cells. Results: The percentage of CD4 +CD25+FoxP3+CD127-/low Tregs did not differ between T1D patients and healthy controls but the MFI (mean fluorescence intensity) of transcription factor FoxP3 (forkhead box protein P3) was significantly decreased in T1D patients (20.03 ± 1.4 vs. 31.33 ± 2.95, p=0.0017). Moreover, the suppressive function of CD4 +CD25+CD127-/low Treg cells was significantly diminished in T1D patients in comparison with control group (35.16 ± 4.93% vs. 60.45 ± 5.26%, respectively, p=0.0015).
Conclusion: Present study indicates an impaired immune regulation among T1D patients, characterized by defects in suppressive function and expression of FoxP3 in Treg cells without any significant decrease in their frequency in peripheral blood.- انتشار مقاله: 14-05-1395

- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Due to lack of detailed standards of sexual maturity in individuals with Intellectual, sensory and motor disability in Iran and the importance of timing of onset of puberty in these individuals, a study is necessary. By knowing the onset of puberty, physiologic and behavioral changes can be traced in these people, as well as the potential impact of the puberty on the underlying disease can be considered. The aim of the study was to investigate of sexual maturation among boys of special schools of Tehran. Materials and Methods: Cross-sectional study was performed on children and adolescents male students in special school in Tehran at 2013. A random, multistage sample 0f 895 boy students of special schools was taken from 25 special schools in five districts of Tehran city. In this study, symptoms and stages of puberty were identified. Pubertal stages were assessed by visual inspection and palpation based on the rating scales of Tanner. In addition, demographic data such as age, height, weight were collected. Then the data were analyzed and mean age of onset of puberty was determined. Results: The mean age of onset of puberty in boys (Genitalia stage 2) was 13.12 ± 1.84 years and sexual maturation was completed at 16.57 ± 1.34 years. The average height at the onset of puberty (Genitalia stage 2) was 151.1 ± 9.91 cm and the average weight was 48.47 ± 10.14kg. The mean BMI for puberty onset was 20.89 ± 5.43. Conclusion: In our study, the mean age of puberty onset in boys with disabilities was 13.12 ± 1.84 years. Compared to the data from healthy boys, our findings indicate that the mean age of pubertal onset in boys with disabilities in special school is higher than that of their healthy counterparts.

- چکیده:
- چکیده انگلیسی: Water supply of green spaces in arid areas is a major challenge. A high percentage of green spaces
create lawns, which are high water consumer landscapes. Due to the environmental, recreational and
athletic values of lawns, they are considered as non-removable elements in urban green space development.
This paper reviews and discusses strategies for efficient water usage in lawn areas using library study
methods. According to the results, first, it was recommended that water demands of turfgrasses are
calculated using precise scientific methods. Eleven strategies including selecting appropriate plant species,
clipping from appropriate height, removing the thatch layer, using wastewater as an irrigation water source,
the use of superabsorbents, application of regulated deficit irrigation, the use of subsurface irrigation
systems, replacement of lawns with appropriate ground cover plants, the use of surfactants and other
chemicals such as paclobutrazol and endophyte fungi, as individual or combined strategies were suggested
for efficient water usage in turfgrass areas. These results, in some cases, can be used as executive
guidelines by green space professionals in order to reduce water usage in this sector and in other cases,
they can be used as preliminary studies for research in the field of sustainable management of turfgrasses in
arid and semi-arid areas.- انتشار مقاله: 15-02-1394
