- چکیده انگلیسی: Background and Objective: Diabetes is a multifactorial disorder and the most common endocrine disorder. One of the important factors in the control and treatment of diabetes is the health literacy of the person with diabetes. Health literacy is defined as the extent to which one is able to acquire, interpret, and understand basic health information and services needed to make appropriate decisions. This study was conducted to determine the health literacy of women with type 2 diabetes in Qom.
Materials and methods: This study was a cross-sectional descriptive-analytical study of 300 diabetic women in Qom in 2019. Cluster sampling was performed randomly. Adult Functional Health Literacy Questionnaire was used to collect data. The overall health literacy score was calculated from 100. Data were performed using SPSS20 software, descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and analytical statistics (Anova test, independent t-test and Pearson correlation coefficient).
results: The study's findings show that the mean age and standard deviation of participants in the study was 44.4 ± 4.85 years. Computational health literacy was 51 percent of inadequate and borderline, 55 percent in reading comprehension, and overall health literacy was 53 percent of inadequate and borderline. There was a positive and significant relationship between health literacy, marital status, education and occupation, and a negative significant relationship between age and health literacy (r = -0.29, p = 0.00).
Conclusion: According to the findings, single, less educated, housewives and older people have lower health literacy. Consequently, these have been taken into account in the planning and measures taken to promote health literacy.- انتشار مقاله: 26-11-1398

- چکیده انگلیسی: In this work, methylene blue adsorption using the unconventional, natural, and low-cost adsorbent, Buxus sempervirens (Boxwood) leaf powder (BLP), was studied. Several experiments were conducted for the investigation of different process variables. Also different techniques such as XRF, XRD, SEM, FT-IR and N2 adsorption-desorption analysis were applied for the characterization of BLP. Adsorption kinetic models showed that the pseudo-second-order by R2 = 0.999 was well adapted. Two isotherms models, Langmuir and Freundlich, were selected to check of the amount of color removal. Methylene blue (MB) maximum adsorption capacities can attain 384.61 mg.g-1 from the Langmuir isotherm. The values of ∆G0 for adsorption of MB onto BLP ranges from -19.44 to -24.07 kJ.mol-1, demonstrating that the adsorption process was spontaneous and irreversible. The removal of dye was considerably increased by increasing the temperature, which suggested that the adsorption process was endothermic. All results indicate that BLP can be feasibly employed for the elimination of MB from an aqueous solution.

- چکیده انگلیسی: In the present study, the effect of various nanofluids on mass transfer coefficients in an irregular packed liquid-liquid extraction column was investigated. The chemical system of toluene–acetic acid–water was used. 10 nm SiO2, TiO2 and ZrO2 nanoparticles with various concentrations were dispersed in toluene-acid acetic to provide nanofluids. The influence of concentration and hydrophobicity/hydrophilicity of nanoparticle on mass transfer coefficient was discussed. The experimental results show that the mass transfer coefficient enhancement depends on the kind and the concentration of nanoparticles. The maximum enhancement of 35%, 245% and 207% was achieved for 0.05 vol% of SiO2, TiO2 and ZrO2 nanofluids, respectively. A new conceptual model was proposed for prediction of the effective diffusivity as a function of nanoparticle concentration, drop size and drop Reynolds number.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Adsorption of malachite green (MG) from an aqueous solution onto unexpanded perlite (UP), expanded perlite (EP) and NaOH-modified unexpanded perlite (NaOH-UP) powders has been investigated. The effects of contact time, pH, initial dye concentration, adsorbent dosage and temperature have been evaluated. The adsorbents were characterized by Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) analysis, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The obtained results proved that the three examined powders can be used successfully for removal of MG from aqueous solutions as low cost mineral adsorbents. The maximum adsorption capacities of UP, EP and NaOH-UP were 23.81 mg/g, 29.41 mg/g and 39.68 mg/g, respectively. Kinetic studies show that the kinetics of the MG adsorption onto the adsorbents followed the second order model. The MG equilibrium adsorption data were best described by the Langmuir isotherm model for all adsorbents.

- چکیده انگلیسی: This paper presents the adsorption of crystal violet (CV+) from aqueous solution on surfactant-modified dolomite. Liquid phase batch operations were carried out to observe the effect of various experimental parameters such as initial dye concentration, adsorbent dosage, pH and NaCl concentration. The optimum conditions for these parameters were calculated by Taguchi method. Equilibrium isotherm data were analyzed according to Langmuir, Freundlich and Temkin equations. The experimental data fitted well to Freundlich adsorption model. The maximum adsorption capacities by Langmuir analysis were determined to be 49.261mg/g at 22℃ that indicates suitable performance by of this adsorbent. The pPseudo-first-order and, pseudo-second-order kinetics and the intraparticle diffusion models were also evaluated for the adsorption of CV+ onto surfactant-modified dolomite. The positive value of free energy change confirmed the nature of physisorption of dye onto adsorbent.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Using liquid membrane and, in particular, supported liquid membrane (SLM) is a novel method of separation in comparison to other methods such as adsorption, extraction and ion exchange. SLM is a combination of simultaneous extraction and disposal whose high efciency and capability is proven by many studies. So far, many researchers have utilized SLM in various scientifc felds including analytical chemistry, organic and inorganic chemistry, chemical engineering, biotechnology and bio-pharmaceutics. Dynamic transfer, high selectivity, possibility of expensive carrier usage, low energy consumption and low operational costs are part of the advantages attributed to SLM. In the present paper, previous studies and the latest achievements in designing various modules for metal ions separation by SLM are reviewed.

- چکیده انگلیسی: In this study, extraction of amoxicillin (AMOX) ions from aqueous solution by liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) was investigated. The LLE process by response surface methodology (RSM) was carried out based on central composite design (CCD). The organic phase consisted of extractant and toluene as diluent. In this process, triethylamine (TEA), di-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid and mono-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid mixture (MDEHPA) were used as extractant. The process parameters such as extractant concentration, feed acidity, extraction time and effect of diluents were optimized. The contours and 3D response surfaces of AMOX extraction efficiency were obtained. The optimum conditions for the AMOX extraction using RSM for TEA were: feed pH 2.7, extractant concentration 12.9 %( V/V) and extraction time 19 min and for MDEHPA: feed pH 11, extractant concentration 12.3 %( V/V) and extraction time 21 min. At these condition the maximum AMOX extraction was found to be 93.5 % and 96 % using TEA and MDEHPA, respectively.

Endostatin is a C-terminal proteolytic fragment of collagen XVIII and, as with angiostatin and thrombospondin, is known as an antiangiogenic agent. The aim of this study was to assess the level of serum endostatin in patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), and its association with the clinicopathological characteristics of the tumor.
Materials and Methods:
Using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit, we investigated the circulating levels of endostatin in the blood serum of 45 patients with oral SCC and 45 healthy controls.
Results:
The mean level of serum endostatin in patients was significantly lower (68.8±85 ng/ml) than in healthy controls (175.6±73 ng/ml) (P<0.001). Serum endostatin levels were significantly lower in patients with lymph node metastasis compared with patients without lymph node metastasis (P<0.001). In addition, serum endostatin level was associated with higher histological grade (P<0.001). There were no apparent correlations between serum endostatin concentration and clinicopathological features such as age, gender, and tumor stage (P>0.05).
Conclusion:
Findings of the present study suggest the prognostic and anti-metastatic role of endostatin, and this may be used as a tool for monitoring tumor progression.- انتشار مقاله: 11-06-1396

Osteoporosis is one of the most important health problems and it is of great importance to prevent this disease. This study aimed to evaluate the nutritional preventive behavior of osteoporosis using health belief model in female students in Qom city, Iran.
Materials and Methods
This cross-sectional descriptive analytical study was conducted on 265 tenth to twelfth grade female students in Qom city. The subjects were selected via multistage sampling method. To collect data, we used a standard questionnaire based on health belief model. Data were analyzed by SPSS version 20.0 using independent t-test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and ANOVA.
Results
Knowledge and perceived self-efficacy had a positive and significant relationship with nutritional preventive behavior of osteoporosis (P=0.04, r=0.12 and P=0.004, r=0.18, respectively). However, perceived susceptibility and perceived barriers had a negative and significant relationship with nutritional preventive behavior of osteoporosis (P=0.02, r=-0.14 and P<0.001, r=-0.27, respectively). Perceived severity and perceived benefits had no significant relationship with nutritional preventive behavior of osteoporosis (P=0.08, r=0.11 and P=0.22, r=0.07, respectively).
Conclusion
Health Belief Model is a helpful and efficient model for preventive behaviors. This method can be also utilized to design intervention programs to change osteoporosis preventive nutritional behaviors.- انتشار مقاله: 27-06-1395

- چکیده انگلیسی: Raw bentonite (RB), a known low-cost versatile clay was used as an adsorbent. RB was treated thermally and chemically to increase its adsorption capacity. For thermal treatment (TTB), the bentonite was heated at 400 °C for 60 min, and for the chemical modification, its surface was treated by cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) to prepare organo-modified bentonite (CTAB-B). The removal of Congo red dye (CR) from aqueous solution was investigated in the batch mode. The prepared adsorbents were characterized by SEM, BET, and FTIR analyses. The effects of various experimental parameters such as contact time, pH, adsorbent dosage, dye concentration and temperature were investigated. The obtained results were in good agreement with the Langmuir isotherm model, and the maximum adsorption capacity of RB, TTB and CTAB-B was 43.1, 55.86 and 116.28 mg/g, respectively. The adsorption kinetic was better described by the pseudo-second order kinetic model. The results showed that thermally or chemically modified bentonite could be proposed as a low-cost adsorbent for the removal of CR from water.
