- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: Lack of a clear policy for the development of healthhuman resources has created inconsistencies. These imbalancesare threats to the health system to achieve its goals. Therefore, thedevelopment of human resources through proper performance ofhigher education health system is an important part of the policydevelopment process of the health sector. The present paper aimsto introduce the methods applied for the compilation of evolutionand innovation program of medical sciences training as well asthe most important directions for evolution and innovation. Methods: In this study, we evaluated the methodology fordesigning packages of Iran’s higher education health systemevolution and innovation. For this purpose, the evaluation of thepolicy process was conducted based on Michelle and Scott’s policyprocess models. This policy evaluation model starts by problemidentification and definition and continue by agenda setting, policyformation, legitimation, implementation, evaluation, and policymodification, using the proper feedback. Qualitative contentanalysis method was used as a research method for subjectiveinterpretation of the content of the text data. Results: Twelve policies, 68 strategies and their translation in thehealth system were adopted in a comprehensive plan for higherhealth education. Eleven practical packages were also developedin order to implement these policies as packages for reform andinnovation in medical education. These packages were organizedbased on the IPOCC pattern. Conclusion: The lack of a comprehensive look at each projector program could bring about irreparableness consequences.However, the MoHME of Iran, relying on the integration of healthhigher education with health care system and comprehensivemethod used for transformation and innovation plan in the fieldof health higher education could take an important step towardsimproving the nation’s health.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: Academic institutions are the most importantorganizations for implementation of internationalization policiesand practices for integrating an international, intercultural andglobal dimension in higher education system. Also, a globallyincreasing demand for higher education has been seen in the pasttwo decades so that the number of students enrolled in highereducation institutions in the worldwide nation-states has increaseddramatically. The National Plan of International Developmentof Medical Education was designed with the aim of identifyingavailable potentials in all the universities of medical sciences,encouraging the development of international standards ofmedical education, and planning for the utilization of the existingcapacity in Islamic republic of Iran.Methods: Authors have tried to review the several aspectsof international activities in higher education in the world anddescribe national experiences and main policies in globalization ofmedical education in Iran within implementation of the NationalPlan for Development and Innovation in Medical Education.Results: The findings of some global experiences providethe policy makers with clear directions in order to developinternationalization of higher education.Conclusion: The Program for International Development ofMedical Education was designed by the Deputy of Educationin the Ministry of Health and the effective implementationof this Program was so important for promotion of Iranianmedical education. But there were some challenges in thisregard; addressing them through inter-sectoral collaborationis one of the most important strategies for the development ofinternationalization of education in the field of medical sciences.Keywords: Medical education, Higher education, Innovation

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: Adolescence is a time of risks and opportunities. This study aimed to investigate and
prioritize the behavioral concerns of male adolescents.
Methods: A modified Delphi study (2018-2019) was conducted in two stages. In the first stage,
adolescents’ behavioral concerns were extracted based on seven qualitative interviews and a focus
group. Then, a questionnaire was designed using the obtained data; also, two-round consensusbuilding
approach (rating and ranking) through surveys were conducted among 90students, teachers
and parents covered by the Health Departments of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, who had
been selected using a stratified cluster random sampling method. Qualitative content analysis was used
in the first stage and descriptive statistics in the second stage to analyze the data.
Results: In the first stage, eight categories emerged, including relational challenges with parents and
other adults; poor interaction with peers; lack of adaptation to conditions; emotional dysregulation;
self-esteem and sense of purposefulness issues; materialistic tendencies; cyberspace issues; and nonadherence
to religious beliefs. Then 63 behavioral concerns were identified. In each round (rating/
ranking), 29/27, 28/29, and 30/30, responses were received for students, parents and teachers,
respectively. According to the specified scores given to different issues, ten top problems according to
the viewpoint of different groups were extracted.
Conclusion: “lack of planning and prioritization skill”, “insufficient skill for controlling crisis”, and “lack
of resilience” are the most important priority for male adolescents, teachers and parents, respectively.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: The most important factors affecting students’ learning ability are attention and concentration, which are impaired by daytime sleepiness in classroom. Objectives: This study was conducted to determine the effect of nasal septal deviation on daytime sleepiness and school performance among high school students. Patients and Methods: This study comprised 172 high school male students, who were examined for septal deviation by a practitioner. Daytime sleepiness was determined by school consultants. Grade point average (GPA) was considered as an index for school performance. Results: Nasal septal deviation was significantly more prevalent among sleepy students (46.8%) compared to their attentive peers (22.8%, P < 0.05). Although the GPAs in students with septal nasal deviation were lower than other students, the difference was not statistically significant. Conclusions: It is not unlikely that nasal cavity deformities such as septal deviation that results in sleep disturbances would lead to poor school performance in students. However, the question to be answered is whether deviated nasal septum is the only cause of poor performance of students or it involves some other mechanisms. Further studies are needed to confirm this relationship and whether reconstruction of structural anomalies of the nasal cavity in students prevents daytime sleepiness and subsequently improves their school performance.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: School health promotion programs implemented in different countries have experienced varying degrees of success. Their success rate depends on various factors such as adaptation with the local charactristics of communities. Objectives: This paper aims to provide an experimental model for school health policy making in a large group of non-governmental schools in Iran. Materials and Methods: To institutionalize school health policies, appropriate organizational structure was established at the headquarters. The road map as “SAMA school health program” was developed in cooperation with the committee of experts and engaging stakeholders. This program was adopted and notified by the health policy council. Results: The main output of this process was compiled in the 36-pages book which has been published and distributed in all of Islamic Azad schools branches. Conclusions: Both structural and the process issues were considered in this template. Engaging policy makers and service providers to make a commitment to the program was the effective intervention for this policy making process. But a low priority of health programs in a notable proportion of school managers, lack of budget and a major obstacle to the implementation of human resources policies remain as the main limitations of our model considered to improve school health promotion.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: With the increasing prevalence of obesity among adolescents, many studies have been conducted on the impact of body mass index (BMI) on adolescents’ health-related quality of life. The objective of this research was to study the association among eating behavior constructs, anthropometric parameters of BMI, and health-related quality of life (HRQOL).
Methods: Random cluster sampling was employed to select 250 female high school students and their mothers in six schools located in District 3 of Tehran, Iran, in October 2017. The research tools were: Child Eating Behavior Questionnaire (CEBQ), Short Form of Health-Related Quality of Life Questionnaire for Children and Adolescents (Kidscreen-10), and BMI measurements. Data were analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient and analysis of variance.
Results: The findings of the research showed a significant indirect correlation between certain practices of eating behavior with HRQOL variables such as emotional over-eating (r=“0.13”, P=0.038) and emotional under-eating (r=“0.14”, P=0.022); a weak significant indirect correlation was further observed between slowness in eating (r=“0.11”, P=”0.078”) and variables of HRQOL. The results showed no association between BMI and HRQOL.
Conclusion: The present study showed that controlling behaviors such as slowness in eating, emotional over-eating, and emotional under-eating are able to significantly improve the quality of life regardless of anthropometric indices. Eating behaviors ultimately make up a major component of adolescents’ lifestyle; therefore, they play a key role in improving their quality of life.- انتشار مقاله: 12-04-1398
