- چکیده انگلیسی: Objective- To determine the effect of selected bone graft on the compression properties of radial bone in rabbit. Design- Experimental in vivo study. Animals- A total of 45 adult male New Zealand white rabbits. Procedures- The rabbits were anesthetized and a one-cm-full thickness piece of radial bone was removed using oscillating saw in the all rabbit. The rabbits were divided into 5 groups on thebasis of the material used to fill the bone defect: group 1: the paste of bone cement calciumphosphate; group II: the paste of calcium phosphate mixture with type I collagen; group III:tricalcium phosphate mixed with hydroxyapatite (TCP & HP) with 5% porosity; group IV: thesame scaffold as group III with 10% porosity; and group V: the same scaffold as group III andIV with 20% porosity, with 9 rabbits in each group. Subsequently subdivided into 3 subgroupsof 3 rabbits each. Results- There was a significant increase in compression properties of radial bone in the group IIand V in 2nd and 3rd months as compared with groups I, III and IV. The mean endurable crackstrengthin group II and V were slightly higher than that of normal radius (P<0.05). Conclusion and Clinical Relevance- Application of calcium phosphate paste with type Icollagen and scaffold of tricalcium phosphate with hydroxyapatite having 20% porosityindicated to have positive effect in integral formation of qualitative callus at the site of fractureand early re-organization of callus to regain mechanical strength too.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Hemoglobin (Hb) H disease is a moderate form of α- thalassemia resulting from various genetic defects. HbH disease is not necessarily a benign disorder as has been generally thought. We present hereby a 25- year-old Iranian pregnant woman whom referred to our hospital for blood transfusion. She exhibited the clinical and hematological manifestation of HbH disease. Her father carries a common α-thalassemia deletion while her mother was normal in the hematological profile. The object of this report was to provide information about pregnancies affected by HbH disease.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Calcification of intervertebral disc (IVD) is an uncommon but well-defined clinical syndrome in children. Despite its benign nature, occasionally, calcified nucleus pulposus can herniate into the spinal canal. We report an interesting case of calcified disc herniation in the thoracic spine. Although it resulted in cord compression and syrinx formation, it well responded to conservative management. An 8-year-old girl presented with back pain and lower limbs hyperreflexia. The spinal imaging revealed that calcification within IVD, associated with huge calcified disc herniation on the T5/6, resulted in cord compression and syrinx formation within the spinal cord from T4/5 through T9/10. Despite cord compression and syrinx formation, the patient underwent conservative management. After a 6-month follow-up, the control imaging showed complete resolution of the calcified disc herniation and decreased syrinx size. In the patients with a calcified herniated IVD, in the absence of motor neurological deficit, conservative management consisting of bed rest, lifestyle adjustment, weight loss, and brace or collar wearing combined with a close follow-up can result in spontaneous regression of calcification, improvement of symptoms, and partial to complete resolution of the underlying pathology.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Background: It is well known that there is a close relationship between elevated androgen plasma levels and the ultrasound findings of stromal hypertrophy in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The objective of this study was to investigate the effects metformin on the hyperandrogenism and ovarian volume in PCOS.
Methods: The study is an unrandomized clinical trial with before–after design. Twenty eight patients with infertility (male or female factor) meeting the Rotterdam ESHRE/ASRM criteria for PCOS were studied during the 2008-2009. The anthropometric characteristics of the patients, mean bilateral ovarian volume, and morphology by trans vaginal sonography as well as the plasma levels of leutinizing hormone, follicle stimulating hormone, estradiol, testosterone, 17-α-hydroxyprogesterone, and dehydroepianderosterone sulfate were obtained before and after treatment with metformin (500 mg three times a day) for three months. Paired t, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient, or Partial Correlation test was used to analyze the findings.
Results: The patients had a mean age of 25.67 years. A significant reduction in mean ovarian volume (11.70±4.31 ml vs 8.27±3.71 ml P=0.001), body mass index (BMI, 28.11±4.55 kg/m2 vs 26.84±4.55 kg/m2 P=0.000) and serum androgen levels was seen after three months of treatment with metformin. There was positive correlations between the ovarian volume and serum testosterone level (r=0.589, P=0.001) or BMI (r=0.663, P=0.000).
Conclusion: Metformin therapy may lead to a reduction in ovarian volume. It is likely that the reduction of ovarian volume reflect a decrease in the mass of androgen producing tissues.- انتشار مقاله: 03-02-1393

- چکیده انگلیسی: Resource allocation, as the main objective of managerial science, requires analyzing the long- and short-term effects of a policy, although this analysis would be more difficult in dynamic and volatile industries such as financial technology. Moreover, the integration of industries leads to more diverse product categories for a single company and makes it difficult for the implementation of decision making about resource allocation. In this regard, systemic PPM (PPM) models can be applied to balance long- and short-term generated values of the company by adopting policies about resource allocation for different products with respect to risk management concepts. The proposed systemic model should include interrelationships between different products, time relevant, and most importantly the potentials of dynamic analysis of product strategies, which is the main purpose of this research. The research strategy is to conduct a case study on the Iranian financial technology industry, by using systemic PPM modeling. In this research, a dynamic model was used in the payment industry, due to its competitive forces. Thus, system dynamics methodology was the research tool for analyzing data. Further, four cycles of risk management, resource allocation, innovation, and development were identified and then, analyzed in a dynamic approach to evaluating their efficiency for business development. Based on the results, the system dynamics methodology provided great outcomes for this problem. Finally, scenario analysis, focus, deep understandings of the decision-making process with respects to mental models, and stock and flow diagrams were among the most significant findings of this article.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Objective(s): Phospholipase C ζ (PLCζ) is considered as a nominee for sperm associated oocyte activating factors and is located back-to-back with CAPZA3, an actin-capping protein controlling actin polymerization during spermiogenesis. They contain a common bidirectional promoter. The objective of this study was to identify individuals with parallel low expression of PLCζ and CAPZA3 mRNA, in hope of detecting genetic defects in this bidirectional promoter. Materials and Methods: Semen samples were collected from 24 fertile and 59 infertile individuals with total failed, low and high fertilization rate post intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), as well as globozoospermic individuals.Expression of PLCζ and CAPZA3 were assessed by Real time PCR. In addition, PLCζ was assessed by Western blot. Results: Significant correlations between PLCζ with CAPZA3 and also between these two genes with fertilization were observed. Individuals with low fertilization presented significantly lower expression of these two genes. Low expression of PLCζ was also verified by Western analysis. Sequence analysis of bidirectional promoter of these two genes in an individual with parallel low expression of both PLCζ and CAPZA3, revealed a mutation within the CAPZA3 predicted promoter, known as human regulatory factor X4 which is a testis-specific dimeric DNA-binding protein. In the opposite stand, in the same location, the mutation appears to be outside but in the vicinity of PLCζ, in a binding region predicate by Genomatix. Conclusion: Parallel assessment of CAPZA3 with PLCζ at mRNA level in individuals with inability to induce oocyte activation may help researcher to identify genetic defects associated with failed fertilization.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Epitope tagging is a method of expressing proteins whereby an epitope for a specific monoclonal antibody is fused to a target protein using recombinant DNA techniques. The aim of this study was to sub-clone the peroxisomal protein (PEP) cDNA into a mammalian expression vector leading to the formation of a chimeric PEP-cDNA containing the FLAG epitope. The FLAG-PEP recombinant cDNA was constructed using the method of splicing by overlap extension polymerase chain reaction (SOE PCR) and inserted into the pUcD2SRaMCSHyg eukaryotic expression vector. To investigate the intracellular localization of the PEP protein that was linked to the FLAG tandem, the constructed plasmid was used for transient transfection of the Chinese hamster Ovary (CHO) cells. The CHO cells that were transfected with the recombinant plasmid showed peroxisomal localization of FLAG-PEP as was previously shown for catalase.

- چکیده انگلیسی: In this study, a multi nanosensor was fabricated for the simultaneous detection of carbon dioxide, methane, ethanol, and ammonia gases, and its electrochemical response to various concentrations of these gases were investigated. In order to fabricate this multi nanosensor, in the first phase, the Graphene-Oxide/Polyaniline (GO/PANI) nanocomposite was synthesized. Chemical composition, morphology and the structure of the nano-composite was studied by Fourier Transform InfraRed (FT-IR) spectroscopy, Field Emission-Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM), High-Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HR-TEM) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). The results indicate that the GO successfully synthesized and the polyaniline particles are well bonded on the surface of the GO sheets. In the second phase, the formed nano-composite was placed on silver-coated electrodes and then, by placing the nanoparticles of aluminum oxide, zinc oxide, tin oxide, and titanium oxide, the different parts of the multi-nano sensor were became more sensitive toward the four mentioned gases. The responsiveness and sensitivity of the multi-nano sensor to each of the gaseswere measured by amperometric experiments and the results showed that the sensitivity of the multi-nano sensor fabricated to the detection of the above gases is acceptable. The results of the electrochemical tests showed that the response of each multi-nano sensor component to a mixture of the above four gas is defined as a four unknown equation and with considering the responses of 4 multi-nano sensor components simultaneously to the 4-gas mixture, 4 × 4unknown equations are obtained, which by solving the equation one can be found the exact concentration of each of the 4 measured gases.

- چکیده انگلیسی: One of the principal air pollutants is sulfur dioxide (SO2). The removal of SO2 from flue gas has been one of the key challenges in the control of SO2 emission. In this work, experimental scale photocatalytic oxidation of SO2 is a major process leading to H2SO4 as a new method was suggested on the Liquid phase using Manganese supported on Copper Slag (Mn/CS) under UltraViolet (UV) irradiation. Mn/CS recognized as a novel nanocatalyst for photocatalytic oxidation of SO2 from simulated flue gas. In this study, a Column Packed Photo Catalytic Reactor (CPPCR) was applied. Firstly, the Mn/CS was perpetrated by the impregnation method. Analysis of X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Field Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX), FT-IR and X-Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) were used for detection structure, morphology, and size of a particle of Mn/CS nanocatalyst and mechanism of manganese onto copper slag. FESEM results show a good agreement with those determined by the XPS. Box–Behnken Design (BBD)
was used for optimization of variables, such as gas flow rate (L/min), Temperature (°C), Reaction time (min) and SO2 concentration (mg/L). Removal of SO2 under the optimal conditions, (8.1414, 25, 60 and 3.94) for Gas flow rate, Temperature, Reaction time and SO2 Concentration respectively were obtained. The most efficiency SO2 removal achieved at the optimal operating conditions is around 99%. It is concluded that the usage of this photocatalytic oxidation of SO2 process,

- چکیده انگلیسی: The present article is an attempt at utilizing a feedback control system based on cylinder rotary oscillations in order to attenuate the two-degree-of-freedom vibrations of an elastically-supported square-section cylinder in presence of flow. The control system benefits from the cylinder rotational oscillations about its axis that acts according to lift coefficient feedback signal of the cylinder. Based on the performed numerical simulations, it becomes clear that the active control system has successfully mitigated the two-degree-of-freedom vibrations of square cylinder both in the lock-in region and galloping zone. For a Reynolds number of Re = 90 located in the lock-in region, the active rotary oscillating (ARO) controller has achieved a 98% reduction in the cylinder transverse vibration amplitude, while the corresponding value for the in-line vibration is 88%. Moreover, for a Reynolds number of Re = 250 in the galloping zone, the ARO controller has successfully attenuated the cylinder transverse vibration amplitude by 72%, while the same value for the in-line vibration is 70%. One also observes that the ARO controller decreases the amplitude of lift and drag coefficients in the lock-in region by, respectively, 95% and 94%. In contrast, the corresponding percentages for the cylinder in the galloping zone are 24% and 39%, respectively.
