- چکیده انگلیسی: Ground water contamination has been a matter of concern in developing agricultural areas which is prone to pollution by fertilizers such as nitrates. In arid parts of Kermanshah and Ilam provinces due to the transference of water from Sirvan River by tunnel and channel, agricultural industry especially irrigation technology has been developed in a rush. Ground water is not easily contaminated, because many aquifer systems possess a natural capacity to attenuate and thereby mitigate the effects of pollution. Once this occurs, it will be difficult to remediate. The replacement cost of a failing local aquifer is generally high and its loss may influence other water resources. Further, in the developing countries, such remediation might practically be impossible. Thus it is important to identify which aquifer systems and settings are most vulnerable to degradation. The main aim of this research was to evaluate extend of ground water contamination in some agricultural plains in arid regions of Kermanshah and Ilam based on the DRASTIC model. The electrical conductivity (EC) values are assigned to verify some parts of the DRASTIC vulnerability map; largely this arises from the lack of adequate nitrate information. In all plains, EC is in agree with vulnerability map except for Somar, due to the presence of Gachsaran Formation which increase EC dramatically.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Nonstandard finite difference schemes for the Black-Scholes partial differential equation preserving the positivity property are proposed. Computationally simple schemes are derived by using a nonlocal approximation in the reaction term of the Black-Scholes equation. Unlike the standard methods, the solutions of new proposed schemes are positive and free of the spurious oscillations.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Introduction: Most cases of chronic diseases result in physical, psychological, financial, and social burdens on the patients and the economy. The overall health-related quality of life of patients can be positively influenced by several variables including glycemic control, economic status, comorbidities, presence of complications, and the quality of medical, psychological, and social support. Studies examining the effects of fasting on diabetes during Ramadan fasting underline the biochemical changes without considering the psychosocial and financial implications. This study aimed to illuminate some of the challenges faced by both fasting and non-fasting diabetic patients during Ramadan.Further, we evaluated the quality of life of diabetes patients, explored the socio-demographic and disease-related variables, and estimated the percentage of diabetic patients who fasted during Ramadan. Methods: This was a community-based cross-sectional study conducted from August 2015 to October 2015. Diabetes 39 instrument was administered to 112 patients with diabetes in Khartoum to evaluate their health-related quality of life during Ramadan. Results: Fifty-four percent of study participants were female and 64.3% of them were aged between 40-60 years old. Sixty-two participants were able to fast (55.4%) and fasted for more than 15 days. Half of the participants had, at least, one comorbidity, among which hypertension was the most common. Approximately 59% of fasting patients had mild impairment in their health-related quality of life, whereas 60% of non-fasting participants had moderate impairment. Limited stamina, and fear of hypoglycemia were the items with the highest mean scores in both groups. The fasting group had a lower average score (2.88) compared to the non-fasting group (3.66). This difference was statistically significant (p=0.033). Conclusion: Over 53% of study patients fasted for at least 1 day during Ramadan. Interestingly, Patients who fasted had a better health-related quality of life when compared to those who did not fast. Patients with hypertension and cardiac diseases were the subjects least able to fast during Ramadan.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Asthma is a heterogeneous disease, in which asthmatic patients present with different clinical phenotypes, variable endotypes, and different response to asthma medicines. Thus, we are faced with an asthma paradox; asthma is diagnosed subjectively by clinical history and treated with biologically active drugs. To solve this paradox, we need objective airway biomarkers to tailor the proper medications to the proper patient. Biomarkers should have one or more of the following characteristics: 1) could differentiate poor symptoms perceivers from over-perceivers, 2) could predict disease activity and hence disease outcome, 3) could clarify asthma phenotype responders from non-responders, and finally 4) could characterize different clinical asthma phenotypes. Therefore, we have conducted a review of literature trying to apply those four parameters to different airway inflammatory biomarkers. We found that FeNO fulfilled the four proposed clinical parameters of airway inflammatory biomarkers whereas; serum periostin was the single best systemic biomarker of airway luminal and tissue eosinophilia in severe uncontrolled TH2 asthma phenotype. Thus, this may be considered a trial towards tailoring the proper medication to the proper patient. However, application of biomarkers in clinical practice requires easier and cheaper techniques together with standardized methods for sample collection and analysis.

This study aims to investigate the effect of PG on mortality-related hypomagnesemia, hyperlactatemia, metabolic acidosis, and other diabetes-induced abnormalities.
Materials and Methods: Type 1 diabetes was induced by IV injection of alloxan monohydrate 110 mg/kg into New Zealand white rabbits weighing 2-2.5 kg. PG was supplied in drinking water for 20 weeks. The effects of the PG treatment on diabetes were evaluated through hematological and biochemical analysis including ELISA assays for insulin and glycated haemoglobin A1c (HBA1c) before and after PG extract was supplied.
Results: The serum glucose, insulin, and HBA1c levels were significantly improved after the PG treatment compared to those found before PG treatment. In addition, Mg2+, lactate, and base deficit, and acidosis was significantly enhanced in treated rabbits. Moreover, PG showed hepato- and renoprotective effect. Likewise, electrolytes, lipid and protein profile were improved.

- چکیده انگلیسی: Objective(s): Pioglitazone (Actos) is one of the most controversial recent oral antidiabetic drugs. It was originally authorized in the European Union in 2000, and approved as an oral monotherapy for overweight second type of diabetic patients in 2002. It belongs to the thiazolidinedione group which some of its members have been withdrawn from the market due to the hepatotoxicity or cardiotoxicity effects.This studyinvestigates sub-chronic use of pioglitazone induced toxicity in mice by the assessment of renal and liver function tests, cardiac enzymes, and some hematological indices with histological changes of liver, kidney, heart, and bladder.
Materials and Methods: 120 albino mice were divided into four groups; 30 in each. The first group (control) received water, second (diabetic) group received alloxan only, while the third and the fourth groups received alloxan with 200 and 400 mg/kg/day of pioglitazone, respectively for 90 days.
Results: Prolonged use of pioglitazone induced significant abnormalities of hepatic, renal, and cardiac biomarkers and some hematological indices associated with histopathological changes in the liver, kidney, heart, and bladder that increased based on administered dose.
Conclusion: Subchronic use of pioglitazone leads to hepatic, renal, cardiac, hematological, and bladder affection depending on the applied dose.- انتشار مقاله: 17-05-1395

- چکیده انگلیسی: One of the major steps toward the industrialization of the microbial product(s) is to optimize the cultivation conditions at the large-scale bioreactor and successfully control the microbial behavior within a large scale production environment. Statistical Design of Experiment was proven to optimize a vast number of microbial processes to achieve robustness and explore possible interactions among the variables. In this research, Taguchi Orthogonal Array was applied to optimize the cultivation condition of a newly isolated Prodigiosin-producing marine bacterial strain, Serratia AM8887, at the bioreactor level. The two-steps fermentation process was applied; as the productivity was scaled up from shake flask level to a benchtop bioreactor (5L) and subsequently to an in-situ sterilization bioreactor system (20L); yielding a 7g/L of the pigment; compared to 100mg/L before optimization confirming that; applying Taguchi experimental design is a reliable and good positive option for the optimization of biotechnological processes. The produced pigment was purified and the chemical structure was revealed using Spectrophotometric, Mass Spectrum (MS), Fourier Transform InfraRed (FT-IR), and proton Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (1H-NMR) spectroscopy analysis. The biological activity including antibacterial (against multidrug resistance), antioxidants (against 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrilhydrazyl) and cytotoxicity to cancer cell lines (against breast cancer MCF-7 and liver cancer HepG-2) of the pigment were explored showing very characteristic features that could be helpful in food, pharmaceuticals, and/or textile industries

- چکیده انگلیسی: One of the key success factors of the financial institution sustainability is operational efficiencies. Using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), this paper measures the relative efficiency of the executing banking units of people business credit (KUR) program in Indonesia. Sample data of this study were obtained from all banking units from banks providing KUR located in the district of Pati, Central Java - district with the largest KUR receiver. This study consists of two stages of analyses: (1) it is found that 18 of the 35 banking units (51.43%) are in the scale efficiency, with units receiving 100% efficiency score being called efficient; (2) an output target is shown for the purpose of maximizing the output of the KUR disbursement without additional inputs.
